galaxy s2 stock on bootlogo - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

good day ive recently try to flash the latest siyah kernel on my galaxy s2 by flashing on mobile odin pro, after i flash it the phone got stock on bootlogo and i cannot access the recovery mode.
i try fixing the phone by flashing another kernel thru odin v3.04 on pc since i can still acess the download mode but when i always try to flash the kernel the pc gets blue screen and reboots.
btw i use speedmod-kernel-s2-jb-k5-8-Odin to flash on my s2 and my previous rom before got bricked was stock jellybean rom. am i using the right kernel to flash on my s2? or can you give me some advice on how to fix it . tnx

Not sure what you expect us to do about a PC blue screen, this is a phone site, not a PC site. And frankly, you're playing with fire flashing a phone with a dodgy PC. First thing I'd be doing is find a reliable PC, get a stock rom from Samfirmware, flash it with Odin to get a clean slate, then re-root your phone & either restore a nandroid or re-flash your custom rom/kernel.

[Q] Help, flashed wrong kernel on SGS2

So this is the case, I had a rooted sgs2 running on MIUI 2.3.16 and brightly decided to flash the kernel into siyah.
Obviously that didnt work out too well, and I ended up in a situation where the phone stucks at startup showing the sgs2 logo, and wont budge from there.
I have no clue what was the kernels "version". Is there anything that can be done?
Allready tried to search the forums, but didnt find a similar situation.
Boot into recovery & do a factory reset. If that doesn't work, reflash Miui which will reinstate the Miui kernel.
If you can't get into recovery, reflash stock firmware in Odin, CFRoot the phone, then reflash Miui.
I'm assuming you should still be able to enter cwm/recovery... just go in to that and re-flash miui

You should find out what kernel it MIUI used, else you can end up
try very many different hehe.
But no panic, I guess you have Odin on youre pc?
Just start phones downloadmode by volume down-home, poweron.
Connect to usb cable, fire up Odin, and flash kernel (PDA in Odin)
Good luck man
Cant get to recovery, Only thing that i can do is to use Odin, how do i get back to stock kernel, or, even better, anyone know the MIUI kernel?
Flash stock in Odin as I said, then CFRoot it. If you've got a Nandroid (CWM) backup, you should then be able to restore that rather than flash Miui. If not, flash Miui in CWM. Stock roms/instructions for flashing same can be found here, if links don't work search for stock firmware on Samfirmware.com.
What Siyah kernelndid you flash? I flashed beta6 over the latest MIUI and it just went to a black screen.
Just hold down the power button with vol up + home. It'll eventually boot to recovery where you can flash MIUI again.

odin -> bootloader flash -> wait for logo battery out -> odin flash stock -> odin cf root -> recovery flash ur miui and kernel again
Issue solved!
Thankyou for you all for your quick replies and help!
Good How did you fix it ?
managed to get to cwm recovery after flashing one of the cf-root kernels, and from there on, just flashed miui all over again...
Ahhh OK. Cool. Glad you got it sorted

[Q] Why can't I root again?

Okay so I rooted my Note once using Odin and left one rom on it for months. I recently needed to take it into the service center due to a stretched out charging port so I downloaded and flashed the stock .tar via Odin, now I'm trying to reroot it again using the same Odin method I used the first time and my phone just gets stuck on the bootscreen. I've reflashed the stock .tar and tried reflashing the root 3-4 times now and nothing is changing. Could somebody let me know what I'm doing wrong? Is there another way to get my phone rooted again? I tried just installing superuser and rom manager thinking maybe it was already rooted and they didn't work. Thanks.
You should be first flashing CWM.
Then you can flash a rooted rom.
All you need is your phone in Download Mode (not recovery mode) and Odin3 ver 1.85 on your pc, then flash the CWM tar in odin's PDA slot.
As to your current problem, if you are GB you have to flash a GB rooted kernel. But possibly your phone is ICS now, so you have to flash a rooted ICS kernel.

Alright thanks I'll try that out, I was under the impression that I needed to root before I could use CWM, as to being on ICS, I don't think so seeing as I was rooted using the same rom for the past few months and haven't updated it, I didn't even know ICS had been officially released until today lol thanks for the info I'll try it out.

S2 stuck at boot screen

Currently stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S II" logo during boot and it won't go past that. I can't seem to get into recovery mode, but I can access download mode.
I was using Shostock v3.0.2 (latest) and the Jeboo 1.3b Kernel.
SuperSU had an update and I accidentally pressed "twrp/cwm" instead of "normal" which made my phone reboot and has been stuck at the Samsung logo at boot up since then. When going into download mode, it shows that the current binary is "Samsung Official".
Would I have to use Kies to restore the phone back to factory or is there any other workarounds to get it to work again?
Thanks in advance!
You don't have to use Kies, but since it won't boot into recovery, you will have to load stock firmware. Your options are Kies if it will restore the phone, or, since you can get into download mode, flash the stock firmware with Odin.
If it were me, I would flash 4.0.4 UCLL6 plus root from the development forum using Odin3 v1.85, and then install Mobile Odin lite or Mobile Odin pro, and flash one of the custom kernels that are linked in the OP of that thread. Then you can load and flash SHOstock 3.0.2 again if you want.

Alright I will try out your recommendation and let you guys know how it turns out. Thanks for the quick reply. :good:
Alright I was able to flash back to stock 4.0.4 using your thread/guide. Will flash a custom kernel now.
Back to SHOstock again!
I had the same thing happen to me today.
I had to clear the cache on the phone and factory reset it after installing the 4.0.4 UCLL6 from creepyncrawly's sig.
It took 5 minutes or so after I did that of it sitting at the AT&T logo before the phone came up.
It sucked.

After install new kernel my S2 can't boot OS

Hello xda users.
Yesterday I was install a new kernel named Blazing Kernel v12 on SentinelROM JB 4.2.2 on CM10.1. After installing Blazing Kernel my phone can't turn on, only logo Galaxy S2 was shown and phone can't boot the system, I can't also enter to recovery menu, only to download mode.
Did i must flash rom by Odin or there is another solution to recover my system ?
Please help.
You could try a dirty flash of another rom or kernel via CWRecovery, but it probably won't work. You could try flashing the Odin version of a custom kernel (Siyah ?) first rather than going back to stock, and if that doesn't work then you bite the bullet & go back to stock---re-root your phone---restore a backup or reinstall the rom/kernel you want to use---put all your 'stuff' back on.
Now I restore the phone to the factory rom and now I must re-root again but the good thing is that he's working again
Good man As you say, the important thing is you fixed it. Make sure you do backups regularly in CWRecovery & backup your EFS with kTool/similar.
better to flash stock

[HELP] i9100 soft bricked

I tried to put custom recovery for i9100 via odin. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693
I wanted to flash unofficial CM11 to replace official 4.1.2
Flashed .tar.md5 now phone won't boot, but it can enter recovery and download mode. (Options ticked were Auto-reboot and F. Reset Time)
Then I downloaded stock firmware 4.1.2 and tried to flash. It stucks at NAND write start.
Then I tried to flash another kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270
Same thing. In recovery I did wipe data/cache, same thing, display remains blank on power on.
Please help. Thanks in advance.
You need to get a successful Odin flash of stock to give you a 'clean slate' to start again (with flashing a custom rom/whatever) from. Find Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread & try the stuff in it, you should be able to get it done with the suggestions in the thread.
Thanks, it was phone from friend and it scared me to death
I flashed earlier Gio and realized I can flash kernel in zip, so that phone is now running CM11, but this info might come in handy when he wants to get back to stock. Also, I'm getting this phone next week, so it's good to know workaround if I run into a problem.
Yep knowing how to recover is a must before you start flashing stuff. If you're getting an S2, download at least one stock rom for your carrier/country from Samfirmware & keep it on your PC w/Odin in case you ever need it.
^+1.......and also make sure you have a working (official Samsung) USB lead......(or even more than one)
sent from either my Alliance powered S2 or my ArcoCM powered W via XDA Developers App
And make sure you have backed up your efs folder too. Something like ktool is good for this. Get it from playstore. And a good working nandroid is a must.
