Hi All,
Now i know that MHL on non Sense Roms is a problem and its driver related but what id like to know is is this an HTC issue or an nvidia/HTC issue as the old nexus 7 and a couple of other phones all have tegra 3 chip sets and seem to have MHL running ?
Many Thanks and Merry Xmas all
Matt
I'm not going to pretend i know how to fix your issue because i don't... But the SOC in our phone and the one in the Nexus 7 are diffrent... The one in our phone is a much newer revision. (AP37). It's like comparing a haswell I7 against a ivybridge one. Thats probably why the devs can't use N7 drivers to fix your issue.

Same gen architecture so more like Ivybridge vs SandyBridge anyway all i can find on the CM forum is a definitive cm will never support MHL so i guess its a proprietary driver issue that teh problem
Hi ho off to see if i can find a dongle that works without need for a LAN WiFi connection so i can watch films in the hotel

Why Sony dont help to code HDMI functionality ?
Up to now i see NO full functional CM for Tablet Z.
I need HDMI/MHL and so i have to use Original 4.2.2
I think my next Tablet is Samsung.... or Nexus..... grrrr....
I doubt MHL works on CM for any device, really. I think it works on Nexus devices, but I;'m not too sure about that either. Usually things like MHL are the last thing to get fixed, if it gets fixed at all.
Hdmi out works here with latest aokp rom.

So I'm not a developer or anything, just an enthusiast.
I was wondering something.
ROMs often don't get updated because support of the chipset has been dropped. I'm guessing this is like a driver?
If it's the same hardware, why does it need a new one? What changes in each new version of Android that means it needs a new one?
Also for those that have lost support, some devs still make ROMs. How? Do they make one themselves somehow?
I'm going to look really stupid if this is wrong.
Thanks!

I've had one of these for a bit as well. Can't find much information on these guys. Freaktab forums have a bunch of listings for android sticks. This particular one isn't specifically listed but I'm still trying to figure out which popular stick this one resembles most, so at least I have somewhere to start.

Any luck with this?
I`ve tried a few similar roms but all fail. My device was working fine with stock rom then got stuck in a boot loop.

Noob Alert!
WIth that alert being given, Can someone please help me in understanding the HTC's claim that they are not supporting the HOX+ and further updates have been stopped due to the lack of drivers for the Tegra 3 processor. If they are not able to provide the updates to HOX+ due to the said reason, how is it possible that ROMs like CM, PA and MOKEE are able to support his phone and treat us with the latest android release 4.4.4?
Thanks in advance!

That is a common excuse used by HTC when they decide to stop supporting a device

Or in this case, actually the truth.
Blame Nvidia they are the ones that cancelled support for the One X(+) Tegra 3 chipset. Without the bsp's ANY manufacturer is unable to provide new updates.
The nexus 7 Tegra 3 is a different chip before anyone asks why it has support...
Hi ,
I am a android developer and i am learning qt/qml for ubuntu touch apps , is ubuntu touch port for nexus 6p available ? is someone building it ?
Thanks!
No that project is almost abandoned at this point don't count on too many ports even the existing ports never really worked.
I'm interested on It. I have a Oneplus TWO but a port on Nexus 6P is interesting because share the same SoC of OPT.
I am interested in Ubuntu touch on any device in the US. The Nexus 6p would be good start point for a port considering the new USB-c, 3400mah battery and other good specs. We (Ubuntu and the community) really need to focus on one good device to port every two years. Let's start with this one.. now how to get started?
*Our hardest hurdle will be getting it working on CDMA.

Yeah it did sound abandoned, but they JUST released a new ubuntu touch tablet and also demoed a functional nexus 4 running ubuntu touch, with support for external monitor / keyboard / mouse. I think the future is still strong for Ubuntu Touch, even though we might not be seeing many updates publicly
Here is a video of it from March 6th, 2016

Hi guys, so nothing news for porting for 6p?

I bought a Nexus 4 just so I could run Ubuntu Touch. Sadly, the battery won't hold a charge any more so I bought a Nexus 6P. Would love to get Ubuntu Touch working on my new 6P
