Take out the battery and hold vol.up,home and power as you put it back in. That should open recovery. Then wipe the cache and dalvik cache.

Then you need a service centre repair but i would try USB Recovery Jig first and see if that can access download mode to flash a stock rom .

To me it's sounds like stuck power button that's why it's reboots endlessly.

Recovery is not download mode .
You require a service centre repair if USB Jig does not access download mode .

I recently purchased a used S3 and wanted to clear previous owners data so I performed a factory reset, unfortunately the phone never came back on even after removing the battery. When I press power home and volume down phone goes to recovery but it is in chinese, I can see restore from SD card but when I do it it says cant mount from SD card, have I toasted the phone or is there a way to recover, I am a complete NOOB so if you can help please keep it simple.PS I called Samsung serviceand they said I would have to send the phone to Hong Kong as they would not service it here in the USA
download a ROM from the forum and try flashing via ADB in your computer.

the phone goes into recovery mode.
Can you not go into download mode?
If so just get the latest Firmware ( only the latest available on Kies ) from Sammobile and flash it with Odin, then go in recovery and do factory reset and clear cache and reboot, see how that goes!
change your CSC to match the ROM so you can use Kies latter on (ex: BTU with BTU)
On you call pad *#272*you IME here# then chose to match your Firmware.
I hope this helps

Via Odin flash Philz recovery and boot into recovery format sd card system data cache via mounts and storage .
If you cannot then its a service centre repair job .

No, i said what's happening after that.
EDIT: A friend of my told me that, i need the appropriate firmware from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/
but with my phone being off i dont know how to find pda, etc
I left my phone by itself for a while. When i went to go picl it up it put it self in recovery mode and now it doesnt boot up, its gets stuck on the boot logo.
In download mode is the product name blank?
If it still says i9300 then reflash your rom and factory reset, with luck that will enable it to boot again.
