Hi everyone, I'm new here. The HTC Aria is my first android phone, and I had an iPhone before. I am having problems, the Audio quality is really really bad. It's not my music's fault cuz it's bad for everything. I am the only one having this issue or is every one having this issue. My phone is currently rooted and is running the Liberated 2.2.2 or something like that.
Was this a problem before you rooted and changed the ROM?
Also, you need to be more specific... is the problem with the loudspeaker on the back of the phone, the earpiece (talking on the phone), or when connecting something to the headphone jack?
What software are you using to play music? What headphones / speakers are you using? ( Just curious ).
With my Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones I've noticed the sound quality isn't as good as my girlfriend's iPod or my creative Zen vision m. It's pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I suppose it's because those are two devices specifically made for playing music, while the aria is, above all else, just a phone. With the aria I usually prefer to use "cheap" skullcandy earbuds so that I can't tell the difference in quality.
Of course, your results may vary from mine.

Thanks for the Response guys! I was using the default Music player. But I am going to try CM7 now because it has the Equalizer function.
Ok guys, it's sorta fixed. I'm using CM7 2.3.4 and a Music app that was ported from MIUI. It's sorta fixed, now so no worries. Thanks for replying fast though guys.
I seem to be having an audio problem when i use third party equalizers. When i increase any band, instead of hearing that band become louder, all the other bands get much quieter. i get the same result no matter what equalizer i use. Anyone else having this problem?

Hey so i don't know if there is already post on this, but when i connect my HOX+ to bluetooth on my 2012 Mazda 3 for streaming music, the quality isn't very great. It sounds like it's peaking a lot of the times where there would be slight sounds of crackling or static at the ends of phrase. I was wondering if anyone on here came up with a fix?
Much appreciated!

Hi everyone
Since the very first time I used my bluetooth earbud(These are good earbuds that I've been using for a good amount of time to know that they aren't the problem) with my Mate 10, I could hear an easily recognizable crackling noise on "loud" songs e.g the ones with drums, even on low volume.
I tested different recievers; Bass boosted headphones/earbuds, "Hear what the artist wants you to hear A.K.A Studio" headphones/earbuds, speakers and even car recievers, They ALL have the same noise.
I tested in every environment with and without other BT devices active and with different music files and music player apps and nope, the noise seems to be originating in the phone,I even went back to Huawei's representative retailer where I bought the phone and checked their "sample" Mate 10 and I could hear it there too.
Now the headphone jack quality works fine and really is more than enough for a daily driver. I fiddled with the BT audio settings in developer options and they seem like they are automatically set according to the reciever, but even then it shouldn't set the bit depth to 16 bps (Or should it?).
My guess is that there is some faulty (presumably software) gain booster that's causing the BT DAC to "cut" the spectrum at frequencies above 6-8 Khz as those are first to get damaged in such cases AND that the bass is pretty good
If you have access to a BT audio device (preferably headphones because you gotta pay attention to speakers sounds especially low quality or bass boosted ones) could you please check if you experience the same problem? I already emailed Huawei maybe if it's a widespread problem they can give a solution
TL;DR Mate 10 BT audio extremely noisy,Jack audio fine, Tested in every environment with different music files and music players and BT recievers (Headphones and speakers) and with another Mate 10 device, The problem seems to be coming from the phone, Any suggestions? Can you please confirm and ask Huawei to fix it?

I have no problem with bluetooth headset on firmware 129-C432.
Which headset do you use?
Hi I tested two different Bluetooth headphones. One cheap headset from Amazon and Sony SBH-52. No crackling noise with both of them. Also I used the M10P with my cars stereo yesterday. No crackling, too.
I'm on 129(C432).

Thanks for the response
Well as I said I tested 3 or 4 different earbuds from a cheap Chinese brand (AWEI) to a NuForce
What's yours?
I just hope it's not a hardware problem

I have Bluetooth Jabra headset.
Works fine.
Same problems here ALP29 C636 with 131 build (with 128 was everything fine) Tried every damn setting in equalizer and couldnt make it better. I think fix is coming with 133 build. I am using Jaybird x3 and bt in car. It seems like is on some songs bitrate like from 2001.
There is a very long thread on a German board:
https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...0-pro-android-8-bluetooth-problem.853624.html
Basically, the bluetooth issues come from the software and since release of the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei has done nothing to fix them.
What music player are you using? I have a Mate 10 ALP-29 on 131 and have no problems with Bluetooth sound on any number of speakers, cars, headphones, etc. I use PowerAmp beta and tend to leave the equalizer off.
Omg I just came here to post the same thing.
So I'd a Beats X for a day or so, and sent it back, cause, weird clipping and cracking with BT audio.
Got a X3 again, and same problem, but I know this isn't a problem with the X3, so I commented the X3 to another device and I got flawlessly audio.
Hopefully Huawei does something to address this.

They don't care.
After they didn't do anything for months, I spoke with them on live chat daily.
Always with the result that they would forward it to Huawei, but nothing happens.
At this point I am considering to get the German consumer protection agency involved.
Huawei doesn't care at all, they just happily release new devices.
I thought maybe with the USA launch they would fix the problems because now there's a whole new customerbase that can complain, but apparently even now nothing happens.

Why do you think it'll be fixed in 133?
So, I contacted Huawei NL about it... Via the live chat.
Sadly I guess that this is what we have to put up to with big companies like that.
The same story:
Guy asks if I have tried resetting the phone already.
I say yes, and state that this seams a major software bug.
To what his "intelligent" answer was:
We are expecting a new update to role out and fix your problem. Bla bla bla bla
Of course to the question of what's the update number, he couldn't answer that.
So in other words, he was just stalling.
Since Huawei NL isn't responsive on social media, I've contacted Huawei UK / DE (with my broken German) and the official EMUI Twitter account.
I've also sent a mail to [email protected] and [email protected]
Although little hopes here...
If they don't fix it in a timely manner, I'll be seriously looking for other options, hopefully Nokia get their camera game together, it was the main reason I didn't go with the Nokia 8.
It's shameful that they take the headphone jack out on the Pro variant and don't even bother to check if BT audio is working.
And if Huawei won't do anything about it, there won't be much hope, the phone is far too exotic for any major tech publication to make noise about it...

Looks like a pre-drafted text.
So a quick update,
I just installed the B131 for C432 via FF.
In my (not scientific at all) test with my Jaybird X3, the audio sounds less broken although still a bit awkward when compared with a 3T and the same headphone.
Nou I just realised, that no matter what I do, I cannot choose AAC as BT codec.
I choose AAC, and as soon as I turn BT on It changes back to SBC.
Switching with BT on won't work, doesn't matter if headphones are connected or not.
On the OnePlus, it chooses AAC by default with my X3, and I can change codecs on the fly while listening to music.
I have the exact same problem and it goes away only if i play with sample rate and bits per sample. So frustrating.
A bit of a update.
Last week I was on LOS, and BT audio worked flawlessly, had no troubles at all and AAC codec worked.
Good news: it's neither a hardware or kernel issue
Bad news: remember when Huawei said that they were aware of the problem? Well, email I received today doesn't give much hope of them being aware of this.
From [email protected]
Thank you for contacting Huawei Customer Care.
In order to better assist you with the issue you are experiencing please answer the below:
1) Please tell us the detail brand, model of the Bluetooth headphone? such as Honor Xsport AM61 bluetooth headset
2) What's the build number of cellphone?(Settings->System->About phone->Build number)
3) What's your issue scenario? such as music sound noise or phone call noise, etc.
4) How often does this issue happen?
Looking forward to your reply,

I'm curious to know if other EMUI 8 devices have the same problem, like the Honor V10.
Hey guys, I'm new here. Thought I'd come to you guys since Mi doesn't seem too enthusiastic about answering me.
When I Play PUBG with my JBL T450BT Bluetooth headphones, it works just fine. But when I turn on the mic for a squad match, it plays on both my headphones and device or goes quiet altogether. The headphones come with built-in mic so I don't see where the problem is. Am I missing something? Am I the only one with this problem? Thanks in advance.
i have this issue on my mi max, poco and my good old Mipad 1...
It will work ok if u never allow/enable mic in the game.
you can try disable the mic in the app setting and see it yourself.
I think i due to MIUI where when the bluetooth connection is shared like earphone + speaker or even bluetooth teethering + earphone.
Maybe it reduce the quality to make the connection more stable.

You're saying I'm gonna have to deal with this as long as I run MiUi? Have you tried a different rom on one of your devices and had any results with regards to this issue? Thanks for the reply.

I haven't unlock my poco to try others rom but will wait for miui 10...
Need others to clarify about custom roms.
BTW you can set the Bluetooth earphone to media only and disable phone option in order to get good sound quality but no mic.
