[Q] How to upload ROM source to GitHub? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've started creating a ROM from aosp source and I would like a bit of help please.
I would like to upload my ROM source to github a bit like the CM, AOKP, OmniRom, PA etc so that others can download and build upon it.
Could someone please give me a quick guide or at least some pointers on how to upload my whole source to GitHub? - At present it is just the AOSP source with some modifications but it will start to get very customised so I want to upload the full source so that nothing gets messed up or lost when someone else wnats to build it.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Thanks from the open source community. I'm in my phone right now, but I'll edit this post in a bit with an explanation

[ROM][JB] Team EOS 3 *JELLYBEAN* Nightlies - Grouper

Team EOSJB 4.1.1 GrouperNIGHTLIES
Continuing on from the success of the EOS ICS roms, we present to you EOS3, based on JELLYBEAN!
It is the goal of Team EOS to develop and maintain the highest performing and most stable AOSP based rom for an array of platforms. For the latest news on Team EOS releases make sure you follow @teameos on twitter and on IRC on Freenode in #teameos.
--
NOTE: Team EOS, it’s members, friends, dogs, cats, and associates are in no way responsible for any loss of data or device functionality. Use this at your own risk!
--
A quick note on Nightlies: NIGHTLIES ARE DEVELOPMENT BUILDS. They are automatically generated every now and then, and represent the compilation of the latest commits to the code repository. While every effort is made ensure that the commits that are accepted are stable and do not have a negative impact to the overall performance and function of the builds it is not possible to test every aspect of a commits impact to the overall repo prior to it’s inclusion in a given build. As a result it is entirely possible that instabilities may be introduced as a result of a given days commits. That is the nature of the nightly system, and the risk that is taken using the latest code changes to the project.
EOS is an AOSP based rom. It is developed and maintained by Team EOS and is the culmination of our own in house development efforts.
Team EOS Nightly builds: http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/nightlies/grouper/
G-Apps Package
Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included in the base rom. To install Google Apps please flash the following package after installing the base rom:
Temporary Gapps package gapps
--
Features:
Because these are nightly builds the included features are constantly evolving, we do not provide a change log manually. Instead please see the changes on jenkins for your build.
For the most up to date and comprehensive listing of the changes included in this rom please visit http://review.teameos.org
Kernel:
Kernel Note: This rom is currently using the stock kernel, so you can find the sources from aosp.
--
Installation Notes:
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery.
Perform a full wipe (read Factory Reset) prior to installing this over ANY ICS or JB based rom.
BUGS!
If you find strange or otherwise unexplained errors please report them here: https://bugs.teameos.org/ Please include logcats and as thorough a description of the issue and what lead up to the issue as possible. With out this we will be unable to track down these errors.
Want to contribute to the Eos rom? Well you can!

The phone/hybrid UI.
I *may* provide an option to switch between the two down the road a little.
I'm sorry did I miss something regarding Google now. I don't see it in the ROM. Aside from that this is fantastic so far. Very nice.
Edit: nm found the zip

Just one thing noticed, are the toggles supposed to be working? I didn't see anything regarding this..
Anyways thanks for the work put into this.

Good to see Team EOS on the N7 boat
One thing I seem to be having issues with every once in awhile is auto rotate getting stuck. When I come out of an app in landscape it remains stuck and I have to toggle to get it back to default.

This really eases the transition from the Xoom to the N7! Thrilled to see EOS here for sure! Is it necessary to use the gapps pack specified of will any JB pack do?
........Cornerstone.....?
Auto rotation doesn't seem to be working.
Update. The rotation sensor isn't functioning at all. Not working in temple run either. Maybe the driver is missing.
Also thanks for including the aosp browser. It's s much better than chrome. I don't know why Google didn't include it in the stock ROM. Its so much smoother and faster.

I was digging chrome, mainly because of the syncing between phone and computer, but lack of full screen was really pissing me off. I don't like opera or dolphin all that much. The stock browser is perfect. I haven't been able to side load it though.

I've asked this question and I've seen this question asked by others and the answer always used to be "use any aosp port , aokp or cyanogenmod". Never really understood why we can't build a clean untouched aosp Rom . Can somebody answer this, please?

If there were an AOSP rom for another xperia phone it would be easier
I think many people would like a clean aosp rom, but nobody's got time to make this full port working, because porting from another manufactor is hard...
So just use cyanogenmod :good:

i don't know if this is possible and i don't have prior knowledge in building from source but if directed in the right direction i will try my level best...I grasp things quickly (at least that's what they say bout me )

[F.P.A] Free Project ACE - CM7 BUILDS - Adding Features Now

Hello,
I am here to ask for people to join me to create a team solely for the Galaxy Ace, 2 & etc. I am not saying I will be the leader, we will internally vote of course, so as to be fair and square.
First things first,
The team comprises of 1 Themer, able to create boot animations and etc. Next, 1 admin, whom will take charge of the webs and etc. Following on, 2 Kernel Devs (I will be one) , who have the experience to fix bugs and implement new modular tweaks. Lastly, 3 Devs, Able to git, and BUILD a ROM, and create a repo init for github.
I hope all of you will join me. This team will help contribute to the community together
CURRENT MEMBERs:
- MinoochX (Kernel & ROM Developer)
- King ACE (Chef)
- brewy
- TomorrowLand_Ace (GFX)
- KelvinCheong (File Server & Web admin) (Learning Dev)
- K.A (ROM Developer & Git Admin)
Not that I want to join.
But congrats on a new team! Hope you find success.

Ok, Facebook Page to be up soon, We will be looking for a web admin and so, well, thats pretty much everything. No Intention for a website, maybe just a blog.
And for the finale, this Project does 3 things:
- Long Term Support (We will disband after a VERYVERY Long time.)
- Implement new features from other phones
- Provide the community with free, open source codes

[ROM] [UNOFFICIAL] [4.4 Goodness] OmniROM for Nexus 5 (Hammerhead)

So here is the unofficial build of OmniROM for the Nexus 5.
I just locally build the rom and tested it with my own Nexus5 and everything seems to working fine.
BUT STILL, I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE!
Also this is at the moment pretty barebone rom, so don't expect that all the cool features will be here on start
and no, there won't be any screenshots. It's an AOSP ROM duh

[Kernel & Rom] Build Scripts [12-6-13]

**Mods move this if it is posted in the wrong section**
So I've been building kernels for about a year now and recently started building my own CM11 roms. I made a series of scripts that might help other users out there get started in building. Keep in mind, these scripts might have to be slightly modified to work on your computer. Post any feedback or questions you might have about how the scripts function! Hope they help.
