CM 11 M3 out for LG G2! - G2 General

Hi guys! Just read via AndroidPolice that CM 11 M3 is out for our device!
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=d802&type=snapshot
Or has anyone tried it? Sorry kinda busy now to try it out myself (backup, restore, etc) but if anyone have tried it, can you guys kindly share your experience? Worth it?
(does it have knock-on?)
Thanks!

Is this an alpha or a beta or a stable?

echo
Just flashed the M3 build for my d801 and the call echo still persists. I thought this would have been fixed by now. This is what has kept me away from cm for this phone.

From what I read Houstonn's PA ROM fixed the echo issue.

Once again, no love for the D803

I know that some aosp roms have fixed the call echo issue, but I was really hoping that cm would have had it sorted out by now because they usually make my goto aosp roms.

I guess it would be considered beta. The order is nightly, milestone, RC, stable.

What do you mean by the cal echo problem?
I would really like to have kitkat on my g2 but hesitant due to these problems. is houston's PA better? (I dont see it in the development section for d802 though)

On some aosp Roms, there's an echo when you call people.

I'm running Mokee rom with no echo. Of course I have an att g2.

More specifically, when you are on a call you don't hear any echo, but the person on the other end hears themselves echoing.

It's the whole reason I haven't gone to CM yet. Other than that, it's perfect.

looks like system freezes are still happening. I had to revert back to stock

Very laggy
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk

Have you guys tried Mokee (RELEASE) with Dr.'s v3 kernel. It's an Odexed AOSP Rom. I tried their nightly but it lag and has some bugs. If you want stability, stick to the RELEASE version.

What is M3?
I'm running Carbon ROM with no problems at all (Verizon).

I downloaded but there's still call echo present and they said their launcher3 support icon pack but i didn't see any option for icon pack.
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk

Some roms doesnt have the Echo.... I just wished some of these developers that had fixed the Echo on their roms would make a flashable zip for other roms. Also i'm not sure if the echo is because some of these roms doesnt have the feature to turn on/off noise reduction?

I've been using this ROM for over a day and haven't had any issues with echo. I used to have this issue when I was on 02/09 nighty.

Best JB CM10 ROM?

Whats the best CM10 JB ROM for the Rezound that is stable, fast and smooth and has very good batter life? Also, what would be a good Kernel to go with that ROM? Right now I'm on a CM9 ROM
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
They're all roughly equal in most areas. The instability with AOKP is gone in JB, so it's more about what you want out of the ROM. PAC has the most options, vanilla CM10 has the least (though still more than CM9), and AOKP is in the middle. Neo also has his customized versions of CM9 and AOKP if you like his stuff.
Stability wise, JB is overall a tick behind ICS AOSP, but not much (not enough to worry about in my book). I recommend pmem over ION if you are faced with the choice, and if you want to get the smoothest performance, check out one of the custom kernels (I hear Ermahgerd is good ).
I can vouch for Neo's AOSP jb Rom as far as speed and smoothness. Very few bugs at least for me (never use bluetooth) and I personally like snuzzos funky kernel (haven't tried the newer kernels like ermergerd or the oc kernel I have seen in the development section) but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the jb builds out there now because even a completely clean cm10 build without Linaro is pretty quick and definitely a very usable dd.

Well I personally recommend my build.
Runs really well with no issues except for HD video which is a problem with all the JB ROMs.

+1 on Grey's CM10, since 1/9/13 and no random reboots super fast/smooth.
Sent from my Nexus 7 on CM10.1
its all about testing each one one. some say grays is better, some say neo, some say shrike. Each one has its pro's and con's. you wont get an answer on which one is the "best"
just jump in and try each one.

I tried out your latest release of CM10 & im not sure if its just me but for some odd reason the only thing that's really getting under my skin is that I can hear my own echo during calls. Also, I wanted to point out that there are times when I have no signal for a good couple of minutes or so. Everything else is dandy from there on.
Thanks

There's no noise cancelling in our AOSP device code, so what come in the mic goes out of the earpiece. I don't hear it as a echo though. Someone had to point it out to me for me to even notice it, because to me, it sounds just like an old analog landline.

Also the signal issue you are talking about is an issue with all AOSP ROMs. Enable airplane mode, wait a few seconds, and disable airplane mode and then your service should come back.

Call clarity

So I have been running this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095366&highlight=slim and have had call clarity problems on the other end with more than one person and on different days. The person I'm talking too can not understand anything I say, yet I hear them perfectly. Is there something I can do to remedy this?
Run a different rom.
There has been a fix to the cm base that's used but it hasn't been implemented into that ROM yet that I'm aware. Or if it has you are on an older build. and need the newest one.
If there is ANY background noise you'll sound super far away.

Random phone muted

Has anyone had their RAZR go mute? It seems to happen every few days and I can only resolve it by wiping cache and recovery. I've been using PACman. Anyone had similar experiences or a better solution?

It's a known bug of every Aosp based ROM... Till devs fix it, simply Reboot...
Is there a thread on this already? Is there someone (anyone) specific working on it?
I would hate to switch, but are there any roms that are less prone to the issue?

Yeah few devs are working on this bug to fix . I believe in next or most probably second next update ll be fixed . Its good to reboot phone sometimes because there are many apps which runs in background and any task killer can not kill them properly so i not randomly but i would suggest ya to rebooy ya phone once in a day . I hope ya understood

Its the kernel. Thats why it appears across all ROMs based on that.
I've had it too, but not anymore on JBX kernel.

Sadly that means its in part of kernel source shared by the stock CM kernel and jbx, or its in the CM. I know most other AOSP roms have their roots in CM. I see you're using PACMAN.
Quite sad really, otherwise these AOSP roms for the razr are remarkable. The biggest draw back being limited video recording resolution, which i care nothing about.
I've been back on stock JB since yesterday, everything is smooth sailing.
Happens to me on Stock AOKP but only when using data based talking apps like Skype or Magic Jack not with regular phone calls. Reboot fixes it temporarily.

[Q] KitKat phone answer lag

I have tried a couple KitKat Roms (the latest being SlimKat back in March). Both ROMs had severe lag (Although SlimKat was a bit better) on bringing up the phone answer screen when a call comes in. I have been following the CM11 and SlimKat posts in the development section, but haven't been able to discern if this problem has been solved. I get the impress that it has been solved on the i9000, but so far have not seen any indication of a fix for Vibrants. Anyone know if the lag still exists. This is the one think keeping me on Jellybean.
I just tried Resurrection Remix® 4.4.2 KitKat v5.1.0 and it appears that at least in this ROM the phone answer lag is gone. I did not have any issues with the answer screen coming up too slowly.

The in call delay is present in all kitkat roms, some have high delay while others are not or barely noticeable. AFIAK Its due to the hardware.

SpiritRom 4.4.4 v1.3 updated 8/31.

Another smooth, solid ROM for our i717. This is CM11 with lots of options added. This is an official build and is brought to us by the same dev that gave us Valdius.

Hello guys, I'm a newcomer in the Android world and the xda forums, but so far I love it! Just bought a Note SGH-i717 recently, rooted it and now
I'm trying different roms. Now you said this roms has more options, do you mean customization or more apps installed that you can't remove from your phone?
Tried a version of CyanogenMod but it was lacking key features like the camera app crashing whenever I try to film. But maybe I should give this one a try.

Yeah well, even if some people complain about Android being "complicated", well I don't mind having to play around with it a bit to find the best rom for me. I'm studying computer sciences, and I'm so happy to have my first Android device! :cyclops: I've had iPod touch 4th gen before but this thing is getting so laggy...I really don't regret buying my note, and it's so much fun to explore the Android world. I just love all the customization! And I might give this rom a try.

This ROM works perfectly! And you got so many customization options right there without any other launcher! I think I found my favorite ROM! Big thumbs up :good: :good: for the devs!
Was wondering, since the first reason I bought the Note is to draw, I was wondering if there was anything that would allow to set up the S-pen for lefthander. I know there was in the official version of android on this phone. Would there be any way to get this feature or to implement it somehow?
I noticed the cursor is more accurate when I hold it with my right hand though....I'm a lefthander.
Trying the rom out now. Glad to be able to use the CM11 themes. Thanks!
so at first I think "Spirit Rom"!!! really, someone made a cheerleader themed rom, yippee!
so I load it up and see a ghost in the boot.....Ohhhhhh, Spirit Rom.........stooped me
