first of all u need to unlock the boot loader...

then u have to flash the kernel, u may use flashtool:

Use Doomlord V4 to root your phone
Connect i USB and choose USB Debugging
open the CMD app and press enter the phone will restart and you got root
then download the recovery files- IE ClockWorkMod
Connect phone - And hit the right CMD

Unlock your BOOTLOADER !
IMO you should unlock your bootloader by testpoint metod, which is quite easy and you don't loose your warranty for ever (you can recover bootloader).
Easiest metod to gain CWM and root is to install NightElf kernel by fastboot and .62 firmware by flashtool.

hi i am korean L9 P768 user
i want to unlock bootloader so i flash europe open kdz (20h)
and it automatically reboot i didn't do factory reset so usb debugging was swich on and i connect l9 into lg softwere mod
and wait for more then 30 minutes then i open cmd
Typing "cd c:/adb"
and also typing "adb devices"
devices was connected to adb
and i also Typing "adb reboot oem-unlock"
my device was reboot and nothing happan
it was justs turn offed !!
and i turn it. it was reboot well
please help me why my device is like that so?
p.s when i flash kdz europe open, and it reboot automatically without bootanimaition
but shutdown animation work!!
in addition all the thing works well date,camer,touch,setting everything!!

Download and flash 20a eu open via offline flash method then wait for 1 hour with sim inside
Then install fastboot drivers on your pc the procedure bit complicated.
Search xda u'll find the procedure to install ti omap fastboot drivers for Optimus L9.
Then follow the unlocking procedure it would work

i use a typical mediatek smartphone called ColorsX46 that runs KitKat4.4.2,
i also need to unlock the bootloader to flash a custom recovery and rom but can'y do it,
i've tried every possible ways but still isn't working.
Did you guys try the nexus way?
Enable usb debugging
Connect phone to computer with adb
On the computer type "adb reboot bootloader", wait for reboot
On computer type "fastboot oem unlock"
Check phone for confirmation
Reboot if necessary
This may do a factory reset, so back up your user data before doing this.

If I give the command adb reboot oem-unlock the phone gives me a black screen with Secure booting unsuccessful.
I try to go in s/w update mode but kzd crash.

But the fastboot mode in the phone isn't responding at all. I have no idea what to do to root and unlock the bootloader.

Yes, but on reboot it automatically disables it. It's not permanent

Try this method :
- Switch on the OEM unlocking option in Dev Opt and plug in USB to PC and direct booting into bootloader using ADB cmd
adb reboot-bootloader
- Navigate to PC device manager and look for new device detection and update driver. On Update Drivers popup, navigate to Properties TAB and choose 'Hardware Ids' from scroll menu, rightclick and copy the first id that shown and google for the drivers.
Sometime, from my experiences, PC might say the driver installed for our phone is correct, but it isn't. Thats why when we enter fastboot cmd eg :
fastboot oem unlock
nothing will happen, bcos the driver isnt correctly designed for it.
