[Q] How to disable temperature sensor? - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hello guys.
I dropped my l9 in the water some days ago :crying:
All functions works fine, but sometimes appears the message saying some words like this: "temperature is high and your cellphone will be shutdown"... i cant read the message correctly because appears very quickly.
I tested the temperature with the cell dismantled and found that nowhere is warming.
Probably the problem is only on the temperature sensor.
Have any way to disable this shutdown to protect or disable this sensor?

hi, I think you should leave it turned off with battery taken off for a few days, if you haven't, maybe it isn't completely dried yet

Hd 2 doesn't stay in standby, keeps turning display on by itself

I'm sorry if this was asked before, but it's pretty urgent.
My hd 2 awakes right after I put it to sleep (means turning the display off) - it just awakes itself. That drains battery and I can't put it in standby. Looked up settings, there is nothing wrong with the settings.
Vibration also doesn't work anymore, although it's active.
So how can I solve either problem?
Thanks in advance

Doesn't anybody has an idea? It's really annoying and I don't really want to send it to repair, since I don't have the slightest clue, where the bill is :-/
Sent from my refrigerator using Tapatalk
Ok this is odd. I dont know what I did but my HD2 was doing the same thing. I would push the red button to put it to sleep and it would just keep waking up. screen would go off and on. I did a hard reset and its fine now.
Well, I never had that idea...but thanks for the hint, I might as well try that
Sent from my refrigerator using Tapatalk
If it works and it stops doing the nonstop wakeup thing. Please let us know so anyone who has the same problem can find this and know what they can do to fix it.
It just disappeared : o
I don't know how or why, but as I restarted my phone this morning, the issue was just gone and finally it stays in standby without turning on by itself :/

hey at least its gone. now if it happens again you know all you have to do is goto bed and when you wake up restart you phone.

[Q] Proximity Sensor Issues

I am having some problems with the proximity Sensor of My Razr XT 910...
Sometimes the sensor just wont activate In call leaving my display powered On resulting in unwanted taps...This has happened 3 times since I got my phone a couple of weeks back...
Once the sensor knocks off the only way to get it to work again is by restarting the phone...
Anybody else faced this problem with the Razr..
No... If it was a hardware problem I would tend to to think it would do it every time.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
Have you tried cleaning the screen? Do you have a case on it that might be overshadowing the sensor? Bubble under the screen protector?

Yes, me. Exactly the same problem.
The problem disappears after rebooting...
Try turning off "in pocket detection"
It's in settings/screen/
This causes the sensor to be on 100% of the time, which might be a problem.
Otherwise, try updating if you haven't.

[XPS] Yellow ghost screen study

My Xperia S sometime have this hated problem.
After an observation period I've noticed that:
1) Is not a temperature problem (put it in the freezer for half hour when yellow ghost appeared, it remain)
2) The yellow ghost appear only when use some USB charger or when I connect it to my PC (dell e6420).
Conclusion:
Perhaps the yellow ghost is caused by a over tension, under charge.
Some other ideas?
On my phone it also randomly pops up, but mostly when I'm using a lot of apps, or set the CPU to overclock or performance mode so it also has to do with temperature
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
The yellow ghost screen is affected by the screen temperature.. If ur fone is overclocked, the yellow screen will keep on poping up. If u can troubleshoot, flashing a stock rom would be a nice kdea to see kf the yellow screen reappears.
Reappearing means u have a hardware failure..
{Helpful, thank me}

Mine is not over clocked and yesterday when appeared the yellow ghost, to verify if the cause of it was the temperature, I've put my XPS in to the freezer for an half hour and then... when the phone was at -20 the yellow ghost was there
Perfect display here. (3 months)
And a friend have one 100% fine too.
why would you put your phone in a freezer? thats going to mess up your screen even more

It must be able to operate at -10DegC without fault, perhaps -20 is a bit extreme for it
It is a heat problem. Its the glue around the screen heating and melting. Freezing won't make it go away. Some people are lucky and it evaporates away, some it just dries and sticks there.
It was apparently only an issue on the first batch of handsets and Sony recognised the issue and offered free replacement handsets to anyone with the problem. ( i had it and got mine replaced for free)

Wow, weird.

Hi folks,
Had this device no.more than a few.hours. Wow, what a device, absolutely amazing.
Anyway - issues, SOD's have been horrendous but now I've git something els.
The device is on, but the screen is just black. I can touch it though which is strange but not long prior to this I adjusted the brightness so to put it simply, it's almost like the screen brightness is so far down, it's just black.
I could try a.factory reset with PC Companion but I'm not at home.
Any ideas that you might be able to suggest
Hit the reset button. You still need to repair with PC companion when you get home to remedy SOD.

Hit the reset button and issue is still the same when.I turn.it.on. Does reset restart the phone or turn.it.off?
Really hope Pc Companion works.
Sorry about the poor grammar. On a backup phone.

Hi folks, good news - just got home from work after trying all evening to reset the device with a pen.
Took one final look at the reset button with a paper clip, this time I really wedged it in and by lord, the phone turned off this time, turned it on and it works!
Looks like it was a SOD, thank God for that. Thought it was a screen defect.
For reference, model is the C6833 bought from Carphone Warehouse, UK.
Thanks guys, it does show that going over the basics like the reset button are almost always the answer. I do live in fear about this device now though.

the SOD happened to me for the first time today, and I also have a c6833. freaked out for a bit but remembered the reset button and it was all good. I did notice that while my screen wouldnt turn on, it was draining my battery pretty bad. when i checked my battery usage, i had a huge drop off. 5 minutes zapped 20% of my battery!! Did anybody ever figure out if this was a software or hardware issue?
SOD's are a software issue. What firmware version are you guys on?

Software issue than can be fixe by un-tickin "adapt to lighting condition" and keep "optimized backlight" ticked and keep it like that untill sony finally fix this bug.

Going by other threads, I had Optimized Backlight switched off with with Adapt To Lighting Conditions switched on. Could be the cause, had another bad SOD this morning so will try those settings reversed.

This is the cause. From stock Optimized backlight is on and adapt is off. People not experiencing SOD are people who didn't change those settings. I didn't experience before I tried changing it. No I have optimized backlight on and adapt off and no SOD.

Both C6833 and C6802 have the same issue. Try to turn on "adapt to lightening condition" and Un-tick "Optimized backlight" no need to restart, SOD will come soon after.

I decided to reply to let u guys know...
For me, if it isn't broken, don't fix it is my style, and from the beginning I have had no SOD so I never messed with settings under display section. This changed very recently when i installed Utorrent.
Since I have never changed settings in here, I expected it to be default, but was puzzled to see that it is different from what people are reporting as default setting.
My default seems that ''adapt to lighting conditions'' under brightness is ON (ticked), and optimized backlight is off (no tick)
Strange, don't u think?
Anyway, what changed was this.
I have luckily never experienced SOD in the way other users have from the beginning with my C6802 (originally HK, but now VN .532)
I had my unique SOD recently, but I know exactly what the cause is, and I can only replicate it under certain conditions.
I sometimes use UTorrent, and when I am downloading more than 3 files at once and get fast and fat download bandwidth, the phone starts to lag, and become unresponsive, therefore feeling like SOD. But I guess it is not SOD like all others are reporting.
So to clarify, by default, my phone's optimized backlight option seems to be off, and as long as I never use UTorrent, I have no problem.

Hi all. All this while i have never experience SOD until today. I was typing msg when suddenly the screen went black. First, i tried to switch on but no avail. Afterwards i used a fork (at the restaurant during SOD) to push the reset button and i can feel a vibration afterwards. But when i tried to switch on again it still wouldnt start and i just randomly press a combinatiom of power & vol + and it vibrate twice and walllaaa, m y zu revived. The question is, i thought the SOD only happen when the optimized backlight is untick? Furthermore isnt it only happen when u try to wake the phone while deep sleep? I own the phone for a month now and this is the first time it had happened. Model c6802 with version. 532.

I didn't feel any differences with of without about the battery, the screen drain a lot anyway. But I keep it tick all the time as I always forget to tick it back before reboot the phone. And without it, the colours of the screen look really better. But be careful, if you have adapt to lighting conditions tick and optimized backlight untick you increase the possibility to get SOD.

If the screen is not all white then you have LCD problem.
If all white that's mean your LCD is good, maybe try flash another ROM or factory reset.

Sounds like you're having the same problem as me. You only have a single line though, while 2/3 of my display is like this. Mine gets like this whenever it's a little under room temperature, and it's a hardware defect according to Sony.
Post some pictures though. It could be software related (if you're lucky).

My XZU has this 1x1 cms 'purple cloud' at top mid center of screen all the time. I see it at the phone boot animation also. Its not captured on screen. So I guess its an LCD burn mark
Its visible only at medium and high brightness on a black background. Not on white background.

Just checked out your video, and i'm having this issue too. That's called "ghosting", and that means that the response time of the screen has gone to hell. The issue gets triggered on mine when the temperature drops a little.
Try this:
- Is it functioning normally in room temperature? If yes, put the phone in your refrigerator for 2-3 minutes and see if it's still functioning properly. If not, well.. then you're having the same issue as me, and i've talked to Sony, and it's a hardware defect and you'll have to use your warrenty and get a new screen. I sent mine in for repairs today, so i'm crossing my fingers.
IF you decide to send it in for repairs, remember to call them and ask them to do whatever triggers the issue, or else they'll simply re-flash the firmware and call it a day. That's what happened to me the first time, and you don't want that to happen

Alright, so it's the same issues as i have, and it's a production error according to Sony, so you'll have to send it in for repair. This is strangly enough only the second case where this happens, that i've read or heard about (including my own Ultra), so it doesn't seem to be that big of an issue. It could simply be an issue on a batch of Ultras that we got. It's a really strange defect though.
Alright, so I got my Ultra back yesterday with a new screen, and the problem is solved. I tested it by leaving it in my refrigerator for about 5 minutes, and there were no signs of slowdowns or other defects, so that's the way to go
