I have just purchased this phone.
Has any else had any problems with the clock time?
No matter what settings I use (network provided or manual) after a while the clock time is wrong by several minutes.
It happens after about 10 minutes from boot up.
I have searched the web and forums and not found an answer to this?
Any Help would be welcomed.
Build 4.2.2 jdq39.c101xwuamk4
Baseband c101xxuamk4
Kernel 3.0.31-2141331
got this issue also talking to samsunng support now
Noticed that it only seems to do it when on battery. When on charge, the time stays correct from boot. But only rebooting the phone corrects the wrong time.

So there is no way to correct it? If downgrading also did not help, does it means this not a Kernal bug but a hardware issue?
Mine was hardware fault. New phone is perfect.

I was checked all settings and every thing is ok and change my sim card to a new one still not worked, Finally the problem was my line the vodafone support said that to me and took 20 min to solve it, I did not understand what is it.

Hey,
My Samsung galaxy s2 will not receive or send any calls or texts whilst i have my contract virgin mobile UK sim in, the mobile internet still works fine though. I can use the phone with a 3 sim in even though it was locked to Vodafone when i got it, It's not a problem with the sim either, i can put in in other phones and it will work just fine.
I've tried flashing many different kernals and firmware in the hope to fix this problem but none have worked.
Some of my device info is here if its needed:
Model number: GT-I9100
Android version: 4.0.4
Baseband version: I9100MUGKG2
Kernal version: 3.0.15-I9100XWLPT-CL941023
Build number: IMM76D.XWLPT
Thanks for any feed back!:good:
UPDATE: Whenever i enter the call settings on the device it won't let me enter call forwarding settings and additional settings, it' comes up with the message: Network or SIM card error.
Try using your virgin sim in another phone and see If you can receive and send calls then?

Got a problem , hope you guys can help.
My my mobile data won't work on anything less than HCDMA, but when I set this my phone signal drops to 1 bar or less!
If I set it to gsm my signal goes full but no data!
I have rooted and installed a insecure kernel /rom as below .... worked fine for a few months.
Model number : GT-I9300
Android version : 4.0.4
Baseband version : I93000VLG1
Kernel version :
3.0.15-928452-user

Is there a chance you are on 3 UK?
Afaik, as their name indicates, they only provide 3G/HSPA coverage and no 2G coverage.
3G uses higher frequencies which means more throughput but less distance so it's normal that the signal is weaker than when using 2G networks.
It's also less resiliant to distortion and other signal issues.
You might want to check into using a 3G repeater if the issue occurs at home but be warned that the usage of these devices is shady at best and illegal in most countries. (You'd need an official license to broadcast at that spectrum even if it never reaches across your own borders)

no problem. do leave a feedback!
kernels are for wifi connections
modems are for network connections like your signal
Try calling your carrier and ask them to refresh your network and APN setting. I suffered this problem yesterday and called my carrier five times to deal with it. Now it is running fine.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Thanks guys for both of your suggestions, I did change my modem and I did ring Vodafone to refresh.
The modem did improve the signal slightly but the refresh has resumed normal service!
At least I now know how to change or tweak my modem for optimum performance. Also did not know the kernel was for WiFi.....will look at that too!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
One strange thing though...only works on edge....anything higher it just hangs.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
As i find and as others have posted .
If you have changed modems and get problems after reflash to a known good modem .
Then one solution is to start from scratch wipe phone and install older stock firmware .
Then update .

You are most welcome

Guys,
Just a quick question, I bought a sim free S3, and would like to update to 4.1.2. Do I download the BTU version as I didn't buy the phone from a carrier?
Also, what does BTU stand for?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yep BTU will work fine.
But if you aren't rooted, wait a few hours and it will come OTA
I have an old Fascinate that I would like to recover the SMS messages from its internal memory, if possible. My problem is that it is deactivated (I got a Galaxy s3 late last year) & it was not rooted before it was deactivated. It also has an older operating system. Below is my phone info:
Carrier: CSpire
Model: SCH-I500
HW ver: i500.04
Firmware ver: 2.1-update1
Baseband ver: S:i500.04 K.DJ20
Kernel ver: 2.6.29
Build #: SCH-I500.DJ20
Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I would suggest getting into a WiFi area, download a SMS backup program off the play store and see if that helps. I've been off fascinate forums for a long time as I have moved to sprint and the galaxy nexus. However I do remember this phone being able to work as WiFi only.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Activated or not, turn ur fascinate back on and its WiFi (since its off ur carrier network now), root it and use Titanium Backup from the play store to back up ur apps from ur fascinate and restore on ur S3. That's exactly what I did, as sms message data is exchangeable between any android os.
