Error message when booting - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every time I boot I get the error message showing in the screenshot.
I'm using CyanogenMod 11 latest snapshot.
Any ideas what it means?
Don't seem to have any functional problems apart from the gallery app FC occasionally and I've had a couple of random reboots.

If it only happens at boot, it's just a minor annoyance / glitch that I have seen on various builds of CM on other devices. You can try to clear the cache / data of the phone app in Settings / Applications / All and see if that helps. Can also try clearing cache and dalvik cache in recovery and fixing permissions. That or wait till there is a more stable version of CM for your phone and update.
Gallery issue - same thing - clear the cache and data stuff in the Application section of Settings. This could be due to not using the best set of Gapps for your setup as well.
For random reboots, that can be kernel related. I'd double check the thread for CM to see if there are suggestions for another kernel or fix for that.

Thanks. I've tried clearing the dalvik and it still happens. I'll try clearing app cache in settings.
If I clear the data in the gallery app will it wipe all my photos and vids?
Also. I can't find the CM thread ?

Nope, clearing that will not delete pics, just resets the thumbnails and such.

But like I mentioned, if it only happens on boot and the phone app works fine the rest of the time, it's just an annoyance and not a real issue.

Now that ive rooted, google play...

...Is no longer recognizing my old paid apps that I got on cm7. All that comes up is an error message and when I attempt to rebuy said apps, it says it had difficulty processing the transaction and I should log into Google wallet. What gives?

Rooting is not the problem. TP's are 'rooted' in webOS just by turning debugging on.
Try flashing the latest gapps for ics (031712) again, also flash the gapps fixer utility. Rohan's mod changes the build.prop file (among other things) so more games are playable. There still will be some that won't work, though.
Its not so much that the apps don't work, they just don't show up in my download tab in the play store, and I am unable to download them through the store itself. I tried both options you mentioned. No luck though :-(

Try this:
Reboot into CWM, clear cache and Dalvik Cache, then (at your discretion) install the newest daily and reinstall newest GApps. Then, when you reboot, before you open the Market, go to Settings => Apps => Google Play => Clear Cache, Clear Data, Force Close, and try again.
That should theoretically fix it.

GPS problem samsung 5.0

Gps activated by itself , it happens very often, and the only way I find to fix it is turn it off and turn in on. Does this happen to anyone else?

I fixed the error by wiping dalvik cache.

In terminal emulator,
Type 'su'
Then 'rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache/*

Odds are, one of the apps you've installed is turning it on for some location-related feature. use a permissions browser app to find which apps have permission to use or enable the gps.

I think you might need a clean setup backup and do that and restore your data only at cwm

Try this:
Go to "settings/application manager/all/click "gallery" and than click "force stop" and than "clear data".
Do the same thing with "media storage "
Reboot the phone.

coolhof: i tired your method, still cannot same problem persist. when i try to do a screenshot, it says "couldn't save screenshot. Storage may be..." in the notifications area. can't see rest of the screenshot message
It seems your gallery apps data corrupted. Hard reset your s3 via
*2767*3855#*
Or flash another rom if you have root and cwm.

[Q] APN problems after a dirty flash

Yesterday, I attempted a dirty flash to the latest CM11 nightly. Upon boot, I got a load of APN errors and lots of other instability. Ok, I didn't even know what that meant at the time but...no problem. Wipe and reflash.
Everything seemed to be working fine, got everything reinstalled. SMS, phone calls, data etc works just like it should. Until I tried to send a MMS today. Gave me the same APN error. Doesn't matter if I am on WiFi or not. So I reset default settings on the APN list under settings. No change. I've also spend a lot of time searching looking for the correct VZW APN settings - tried just about everything I could find with no success.
Here are a few screens of the current APN settings.

Anyone experienced this? Solutions? Thanks...
Well, after doing some reading over the dev section, seems I'm not the only person with the problem. Now to just get a few most posts so I can contribute......
It was suggested that I change my sms app from the default CM11 messenger. I tried Handcent and Hangouts, no luck.
Have you tried a clean flash

Had the same thing happen, do a clean flash, and uninstall Google Play Movies App, worked for me after that.

Pro tip: Never delete apps you don't know, just freeze em. :)

I have boost mobile lte
Reflashing your ROM should only be done as a last resort. You can hard brick your device if you don't do it right or use an incompatible ROM. I stress this with all Moto E surnia varients because not all ROMs are available yet. Trust me.
For force close issues, make sure you have a TWRP recovery installed. Boot into it.
Under Advanced, select Fix Permissions. Allow to fix, should take less than 20 seconds.
Reboot
Most of the time this will solve your problem.
Otherwise, you can always try to reinstall the system apps you think might have caused the issue.
If you're not rooted boot into stock recovery, wipe cache, and do a factory reset. Or you can try through the settings, but I don't know if that will work.
