Sprint H/K Version that Different from AT&T M8? - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Hey guys just wondering. Apart from the physical color scheme, software and processing enhancements, plus the bundled earphones. The Sprint Harmon Kardon M8 has the same front facing speakers right? Or is the internals different of the phone? Thanks in advance.

internally all the models are said to be the same (US variants). The H/K version is supposedly software based (like Beats was on the M7). Though if you are interested, there are mods coming out now that enable the HK enhancements on any M8 (well as long are you are s-off etc)

[Q] international S3

I have T-Mobile and I know for a fact that I'm getting an s3 I just don't know which will have a bigger dev population. Also I would like to keep my 4g speeds. Is the international version compatible with T-Mobile 4g? I don't always have access to a WiFi connection. Please and thank you for your help. And my apologies if I didn't search thoroughly enough.

The I9300, the international variant, does not support the AWS frequencies that T-Mobile uses, so you won't have high speed data.
Okay so what speeds would I be seeing? And is the international development better than stateside ?

With the International S3 you will at most be getting 2g/Edge Speeds on Tmo. Which is unacceptable if you're buying a phone in this day an age. Development will always be better with the International versions of a phone, thats just how it is...If samsung releases the kernel source to its US versions then that would help development tremendously, but I believe that would fall more on Qualcomm as the US S3's are using the S4 chipset....That said as long as the boot loader is unlocked and a way to root and install CWM exists, there will be some development...but don't expect it to be as robust as the International version.

Why are we seperating the One forums?

Is there a significant software difference or what?

The software and hardware is 100% identical except for different radios. Which I think is the reason for the separation.
I think you misunderstood .. They normally separate the forums when there is a significant hardware difference and flashing wrong versions rom could brick your device. AT&T one x and international one x is a great example. AT&T was Qualcomm and international was Tegra. Tegra roms brick Qualcomm phones... Separate forums needed!
I think they just jumped the gun on this split...probably combine them once everything is verified interchangeable. At lleast I would hope they would.
Agree. Best to keep them separate for now, but it looks like they can be combined due to the same models. Best to be sure tho.

I really hope they do recombine them otherwise the dev support won't be there %100

All the One devices that are GSM/LTE are M7_UL. All 3G only One devices are M7_U. Then you have Sprint and Verizon off in their own little world or something.
I successfully flashed Android Revolution HD. LTE works

They should combine the HTC One forums. Hardware is totally 100% identical even for the radios chips. Except of the Asian version which they didn't even seperate at all. There are alot of other phones on the request thread that deserves a spot than this bloated AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint & International version of HTC One forums which is not even necessary at all. This would just reduce the chances of questions from other users being answered.
I believe this is the same hardware and when ever yall get s-off and supercid then they should combine the forums.
This is kinda like mt tmobile htc sensaton. Witch in that point with super cid all htc sensations were the same. And we didnt had to worry about flashing another sensation rom from international. but the thread is only one thread for all htc sensation in the world. There is no tmobile, canadan's,international or the one with beats they all were the same

HTC One Tmo --> HTC One Google Edition

Hi. Did somebody try to fully convert (CID, MID, bootloader, recovery ,radio, hboot, i mean ROM and firmware our Tmo version to the GE version? Does Tmo LTE works on GE version?
i just ordered my t mobile htc one, coming from a galaxy nexus (just love the build quality of the one and screen more than nexus 4) i know how to root and install roms but i heard that it's possible to converted the t mo htc one to the goole play edition so we can get the OTA updates. is that true?
I think it is only possible with the international GSM version, as it is identical with the HTC One GE. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I did it and came back to sense. It was nice but with gpe you lose WiFi calling, nice tv remote, and in 4.3 you loose beats audio.

It's possible to flash to the GE using RUU. You can find the thread under android development. And you still have beats audio in 4.3.

4.3 has working ir and beats audio
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
4.3 Beats audio is far better then 4.2.2 Beats audio on GE roms. I converted fine, but keep in mind that at this time its impossible to do it with the new update unless you prior had S-Off.

There should be a way around 531.11 to get s-off right?

Do you get LTE on 4.3GE though?

I recently did the conversion listed in the regular HTC One forum and I'm picking up LTE just fine. Still haven't figured out how to get the IR to work in 4.3 though. Everything else is great, no wifi-calling however.
Yes, with GE Rom and even GE radio, we can get LTE signal. So guys, we can do conversion, and enjoy truly Google Edition experience!
I don't even know if I get wifi calling on TMO on Sense... how can i tell?

Settings -> under Wireless & Networks heading -> More -> Wi-Fi Calling
you'll have it though for sure as long as you're a TMO One.
I have the black bootloader, with the black Google splash, I did have the radio but because of significant decrease in LTE service I went back to the most recent T-Mobile radio. I am running Viper Rom and only WiFi calling is missing, not that I use/need it anyhow. you should definitely go for it! The ALL black is sweet.
someone please help me, i did the full GPE conversion in september and all of a sudden for the past few days my phone screen wont turn on after i take it out of my pocket and sometimes restarts on its own. i reset the phone and still nothing. i want to know how can i turn my phone back to stock with s-on and the rest? i think i have to return my phone.

Phone "Versions"?

So once I planned to root and got into XDA, I always read "INTERNATIONAL ONLY, AT&T ONLY ..ETC ONLY"
Why? Why does the recovery differ from INT and AT&T and sprint and all those other variables? Why can't we boot a rom for the INT to other variants and vice versa?
I know that it belongs to CID (i think?) But why? How is that CID set? And what's different between each CID and the other?
Thanks you guys

Processor is not the same ...
Aren't they all Tegra 3? As far as I know it's the chipset and processor or am I mistaken?

They're both Tegra 3, radio and partitioning are different (don't know about anything else)

The international and AT&T version, have different radio hardware. The international one uses the Tegra 3 inbuilt radio hardware where as the AT&T version uses a quallcomm 4G radio chip. Because of the different hardware the devices require a different kernel, thats also why they need different recoveries, because a recovery is basically built from the kernel.

Unlocked One M8 compatible with ATT LTE?

I wanted to buy the One M8 unlocked instead of the ATT version.
Does anyone know if the unlocked version will be fully compatible with ATT LTE?
Thank you.
No its not compatible with LTE. It will only work with HSPA+

According to who? This is the first instance I've read of someone saying LTE won't work.
I have 2 units on order from HTC and everything I've read says the unlocked version will work on AT&T LTE.
Here's 2 examples...
http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one-m8/375483-unlocked-htc-one-m8-t-lte.html
http://www.phonedog.com/2014/03/26/...d-unlocked-models-now-available-for-purchase/
Yes, the unlocked version is definitely compatible with AT&T LTE.
If you look at the HTC website you will see in the description that both the Unlocked and Dev's Editions support LTE bands 4 and 17, which are the bands that AT&T uses.

My bad I misunderstood that he might talking about the international unlocked. I apologize!
