Ive tried:
Project infinity Rom
- EDIT: using this rom right now (2.0) very quick and clean. Recommended.
Shohat
-my personal favorite. Very fast and EXCELLENT battery life.
Echoe
-best feature is the keyboard IMO
Overall most roms are identical, each having their own unique features. I like my phone to have good battery life, that is why I chose Shohat. But the echoe keyboard looks amazing! Tough choice.

Running Infinity now, on the 2.0 version. Very clean and quick. Granted it's the only one I've used thusfar, but I'm enjoying the debloat and additional little perks.

In a word (or two) for the moment, hands down, Pandorian http://goo.gl/evd8B . Liquid smooth should be fun though In the future As both end user and dirty kanger, must say I'm looking forward to flashing an ljb otapackage! After owning an GT-I9300, I Feel aosp shall be even grander with am additional GB of ram + lte. I don't care what anyone says. Also, I feel i completely understand why support for this device is the way it is. Look forward to the future!!

I am personally not a huge fan of any of the roms I have tried so far.
I have just pieced together my own rom and use that... I really wish there was an AOSP based rom (e.g AOKP, PA, CM) because I must prefer stock android.
That said my battery life is outstanding running latest leak from sammobile xxalf4 (or whatever) which is Pandoriam. Working on device tree. Patience appreciated. Support the guys cooking these roms ! They are just sharing their own personal work
Also. Perseus kernel = outstanding. I see what he's doing right there and Im a fan! Only if you value performance, battery life , stability.
Don't like what's out there / coming , most of the code can be found via Google/ github

I really want a rom without touchwiz, damn
I'm using a i717 AT&T Galaxy Note
I've been enjoying all the resources on this site for a while and I've installed at least a dozen ROMs.
The first one I settled on was Saurom, then I used CM 10 for a while, and now I'm using ParanoidKANG, and I've tried quite a few in between.
I really like ParanoidKANG but I don't like it eating up all my RAM. Or that it replaces the Performance Options with "Performance Controls". Controls I already have in ROM Toolbox. Making my options to compress RAM and set stricter settings confusing and dangerous for a noob like myself.
Recently I figured out how to flash Kernels for OC (Yay!), so I'm using h0tcakez now.
Here's my question: Is there a stable Rom/Kernel that won't eat up my battery. Are there known solutions to saving battery life?
This issue seems to be a constant through all my flashing and I realize this is a subjective question, that's been asked before, but I thought I'd get a pool of answers before flashing (yet again) a new ROM.
Opinions and yelling matches welcome!
Try rootbox ...pm me for link it's been taken down from xda

I've rooted my HTC DNA months ago before switching to the note for battery life.
Never used Odin or anything before. HTC you have to s off to root and then use cwm to install roms.
I want the note 3 features and 4.3. My main goal is to remove the bloat but keep the note features. And I really want added battery life. It's nice now but I'm getting a Sony sw2 and I'll have Bluetooth on all day now. So need the battery to last without me switching to a backup battery every day.
What do people recommend me starting with on my first Samsung Rom?

I'm a big fan of CyanogenMod, but there are some volume issues on both bluetooth and wired connections that haven't been licked yet. My favorite ROM is Beanstown Jelly'Beans' as it has the stability and features of Samsung's stock software without the bloat and some extra tweaks baked in.
+1 for the JellyBeans recommendation. I was using that for several weeks up until today, when I decided to give it a break to try out PACman. I still have JB available as a restore file. If you're looking for something that resembles stock, go with an AOSP based ROM ( PAC man for example).
Did either of you read what he was looking for before answering? He wants something with note 3 features.

You ever figure out which was better?
I personally like Slim 2.2beta 2013119, the 4.3 version.
I had SlimKat, CM11 and LiquidKat from Liquidsmooth Team and for some reason I have gotten worse signal with the 4.4 ROMs.
And that's what caused me to reverrt back to a 4.3 ROM.
There was one good working 4.4 ROM Nexus Expereince 1.1 stable build that everything to seemed to work good.
I'll keep trying the new releases sa they come out for a really good 4.4 though.
I like slim best as well so far although the screen artifacts are a deal breaker for me. Back on cm10 for now until 4.4 becomes more stable.... I seem to have storage issues with both slimkat and cm11

Have you tryed the latest slimkat 1-6 with JBX-Kernel? no screen artifacts and more stable and better battery life.
Which one do you guys think is better and why.

I'm sure someone will give those answers but usually those things are subject to however the individual sets up their ROM.
Both are TW 4.3 so all the same mods can apply. All the same xposed. I'd say since Mr Reggie Cheeks is theming the hell out of Baja ROM its definitely worth checking out. And Surge1223 is one of the Devs... he's done so much for our phones. If I go back to Touchwiz I'm definitely trying Baja.
Not to knock Hyperdrive either cuz SBreen is also the man!!
Guess all I'm getting at here is they're both awesome. And like I said I'm sure someone can give you their opinions too.
Happy flashing!

I've tried both and agree, it depends on how you setup your phone and what you like. Both are good ROMs. However, I have to make a plug here for Eclipse. Eclipse doesn't have as many "bells and whistles" as either of the other two, but in my opinion it is the most stable and smooth ROM available right now. Anyone looking for a fast, smooth, stable ROM with great battery performance should give Eclipse a try. My hats off to all three developers/teams that have provided us with these ROMs...Great Job.

Agree, all have great Roms.
Now at this moment Baja rom is at 4.4.3 KitKat and HyperDrive is not. This makes deciding easier for now. However, on jellybean I personally preferred the clean / fast HyperDrive. Once HyperDrive has kitkat , I will def. jump back to it.
Things I noticed about Baja final rom (4.4.2l;
1.) The phone doesn't seem to shut down.
2.) I already received a message saying not enough space on device to install new apps.
3.) Start up time takes longer than HyperDrive
HyperDrive (4.3)
1.) quick boot up
2.) extreemly fast
3.) Has great added tweaks/apps I use
