[Q]android x86 problems - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know theres lots of guides and questiond asking the same exact thing but none of them worked, i tried asking stackoverflow but no one answered but anyways i aam currently running android x86 4.4 on my internal hard drive and the sound doesnt work, if i put in a live cd the sound works just fine but when i switch back to android the sound no longer works the headphones also dont make anysound but thats for any operating system and if it does make a sound its only through the left headphone and last thing is that it keeps sying low memory with over 35 mb and i know there should be A LOT more than that so is there anyway to add more space without a flashdrive or sd card inserted all the rime, i can use my whole hard drive because android x86 is the only os i have on it

[Q] GS3 and car audio

Hi,
I'm using a GS3, rom stock Jelly Bean, CFRoot 6.4, ext SD 32 Gb. and I recently buy a new car with USB entry. When I plug my phone No problem I can browse and play sounds while charging BUT it only read what's on \SdCard and... my music is stored on \Mnt\ExtSdCard\Musik therefore it's not read. I have no way to browse one level up. I'm pretty sure the issue is in the car system, so nothing to do on that side to solve my issue.
What can I do ? I have 12 Gb+ music so I can't move it back to internal memory..I was thinking on binding my directory or something... I found on this forum DirectoryBind but it unmount everything when pluging USB.
Any help will be highly appreciated
Cyril
Little up .... no one has an idea ?

EU 2000 TV Box Android Mini Pc

Hi everbody,
i bought me an Android Mini Pc on a technic expo:
EU2000 TV BOX Android 4.0 AllWinner A10 1G RAM 8G Built-in 5.0MP Camera And Mic HDMI AV Output with Stand and Wifi.
I dont know if it is allowed to post a shop link, otherway you will find for more details the device on "geekbuying".
I am very satisfied with the device and it works alright. Nevertheless, it has build in camera and lets say a very customized Android 4.0 running. For example also after reseting a spezific Skype Contact is still the main User and not deletable. Also i am sure that fact is because i bought a used one on a expo i would like to flash the device and install a clean rom, exspecially because of the build in camera.
I could not find any thread dealing with this device, so my question if there is anybody there who already has experience with the device or knows a good rom for it and maybe can tell me where to find an installing manuell.
Moreover, i use the device with a airmouse remotecontrol, which also works very well. It works with a USB Dongle i put in in the backside of the device. The Remotcrontroll has on one side a keyboard with a return, and page up and down button and on the other side the main Android Buttons, volume keys and setting keys.
Therfore, i am also afraid the remotecontroll will not work again after flashing the system, or it is using own drivers.
Maybe, anybody has experience with it and can help me. For those who are interested in the device more generally i also will answer your questions.
Thanks and kind regards

Android ROM needed for Knight Rider car stereo

Hi Everyone,
This thread is being started with the intention of gathering more information on issues people are having with the Android Knight Rider stereo head unit.
Please see the attached file for the product specifications.
There is only a small community of users for this new Android 4.0 stereo unit available from the China manufacturers. Here are the issues I have reported back to the seller after using the radio for four weeks:
1) The volume of the radio is reduced to a minimum level when an Android app is playing music. The music is only going through the front wires to the front speakers when playing an Android app. Installation of the radio was correctly done because music can be heard through both front and rear speakers when playing music with bluetooth from my Samsung Galaxy 3 phone. There is a problem with the firmware in the Android software. I am totally aware it is not an Android option, its a problem with the way the Android 4.0 operating system was deployed within the radio.
Solution needed: An update to the Android software is needed to fix the issues with the music only playing to the front speakers. The sound settings are set to both front and rear but when playing music with any Android app the music will only play through the front speakers.
2) The radio was advertised to have two working SD card bays however a 64 gig card will only be recognized in the navigation SD card slot. The Android operating system will not recognize a FAT32 formatted SD card in the extension SD card slot.
3) The Android operating system often causes applications to hang. Google maps often gets suspended and the application needs to be closed. Other applications will only work for a limited time and then stop working requiring the radio to be powered down in order for the Android system to reboot.
4) There is no MUTE button when using the bluetooth telephone (Not in the Android OS but in the Windows CE OS)
5) When tethered to a Galaxy S3 phone for the radio to have wireless, there is no phone functionality within the Android OS. The phone is used within the Android OS it comes up with an error message stating "No mobile networks are available" while connected to a strong WIFI hotspot.
6) The Android Playstore app is extremely limited in the amount of apps it will find available to load. It will not find all the apps the my Galaxy S3 phone will locate when using the Android Playstore.
My radio was professionally installed so I know there are no issues being created as a result of a faulty installation.
QUESTIONS:
1) Has anyone else run into the same issues?
2) Is there a way to root this radio?
3) Would it be possible to have some developers work on a firmware update or the Android related fixes needed? The seller just wants me to return the radio for testing when I know its a problem with the Android software.
4) What 3G dongle needs to be used to enable the Android phone functionality to properly work?
Thanks very much,
Scott

[Q] Install Android in Car HDD

So I have a car with a touch screen and an HDD, so I was wondering if I could just pop out the HDD and install Android on there. I'm not sure if multi touch would work, but to me it seems like it should work. If you ask why, simply because I would like to. I think it would be fun.
I have taken out the HDD to update the car NAVI and it hooks up to the computer just like an external. Now as to the strength of the computer inside I'm not too sure, I don't even know where I would go to find that out.
The car that I have is a Nissan Presage 2007 Highway Star. It's a Japanese model, I live in Japan.

still no sound after update to 3.0.201

Hi there.. no sound for me in my dell xps 12 9250 even with latest update I heard that the stock android-x86 rc2 supported my sound card so maybe jade didn't update there kernel?
My sound card: realtek high definition audio (sst)
@katana444 don't just say u heard Android-x86 supports your sound card - be sure - check it out by installing it.
On my device sound works from the beginning, but it works either badly or fails few minutes after booting the system.
I have the same audio card on my Lenovo miix 700, and it's not working on the latest RemixOS release, while it is working on Android x86 RC2.
According to Jade developers, they are aware of the issue, not all changes in RC2 have been incorporated yet, hopefully in the next release we will also have audio working.
I want to emphasize to you all that realtek high definition audio (sst) is just a "userfriendly" sound device name. There are dozens if not hundreds of audio chips that carry this one same name, but many require different drivers - because of that, providing just this name can be insufficient. I for instance, I found out online what my audio chip model was. There are many methods to get the proper HW info, but Remix needs a good, neat guide for that.
About differences between Remix and Android-x86 - I agree, these are weird. Logically, I'd thought that Remix has all what Android-x86 + it's own features, but apparently there are differences, the sad fact is that sometimes it's backwards. Developing such project is a big challenge and we should have that in mind - there will be lots of problems and that will persist for some time (probably long) before we reach a stable state.

I installed 104 on virtual box and USB flash drive. In VB the audio setting is:
Host Audio Driver: Windows DirectSound;
Audio Controller: ICH AC97
The sound card works perfectly.
But NO sound when running 104 from the USB flash drive. Any suggestion.
THX!
