[Q] Korean LTE Bands - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

I do a lot of traveling between the States and Korea, and I recently purchased a Sony Xperia Z Ultra from the US Sony Store with the following model name: C6806. Does anyone know if the LTE bands of this model would be compatible with any of the bands in Korea? I tried researching the various LTE bands, but became a bit confused as to which ones would be applicable.
Thanks!

T Mobile is the exclusive US carrier for Sony Xperia. That includes all the different phones with Xperia in the name including the Ultra. If T Mobile does not sell it, it will be in the Sony store. The phone will work on ATT as well although the version currently on sale outside the USA will only work on the 3G network.

The c6806 is already available, and is the LTE version for north America.
Take a look here http://negrielectronics.com/sony-xperia-z-ultra-c6806-unlocked-black.html from what I read on internet while looking which I need in Europe. People was saying that the LTE bands on this model are those for North America. ATT use 700 and 1700 bands and T-Mobile use 1700 only. Both of those bands are on the C6806 version.

It looks like that website still says "Preorder" instead of order.. looks like its still not out yet.
Hey guys
If I remember correctly, if the phones is compatible with ATT it usually runs well on Canada LTE's right?
Thanks for any input regarding Canada better model to chose ( Rogers for example )

[Q] Differences between ZU models

So guys I have the opportunity to get this beautiful phone, but I did not understand the difference between the two models at my disposal.
I can get a c6802 model for 510€ (689 US$) or a c6833 model for 619€ (837 US$).
What I cannot understand is: what is the difference between the two models?
Concerns only the bands (one have LTE and other not) or I could have problems in the future with things like updates or modding?
Thank you guys for your help!! :victory:

Xperia Z Ultra LTE C6806 (LTE; Bands I, II, III, IV, V, VII, VIII, XX)
Xperia Z Ultra LTE C6833 (LTE; Bands I, II, IIII, V, VII, VIII, XVII)
Xperia Z Ultra HSPA+ C6802
Other than modems there is no difference.
At the moment the LTE models can not run on the new firmware. (well it can but LTE connectivity doesn't work) Other than that they seem to be the same. The firmware will work on either unit...
It comes down to if you want faster download/ upload speeds with mobile data.
- For me the extra money spent on the c6833 model wasn't worth it. Work and home have wireless, and the limited time I'm out and about HSPA+ is fine.
Do a quick visit to gsmarena.com.
To the upper right hand corner, you will see a search box.. just search for the ultra there.. you will see that the differences just lie on their network operating frequency (at least that's all i see :what
Other than that, it is pretty much the same...
I admit, the price difference between the LTE and hspa+ version is not worth it.
But here at my place, our network provider is pretty much forgetting their HSPA network and just dont want to fix issues anymore.. they are more focused in upgrading and stabilizing their LTE infrastructure so I'm just going to go with the flow and buy the LTE version..

Anyone Have the C6806 on AT&T?

Anyone out there rocking the XZU model: C6806 on AT&T? If you are, does yours shows that your getting LTE? I have the C6833, cause I thought this got LTE, but all I seem to get is H+
So, if your getting LTE, please let me know. Thank you for your time.
Yep, I'm on ATT with a C6806 and getting LTE. Had to switch to the ATT APN when I flashed CM, but yes, definitely getting LTE. And the 6833 doesn't get LTE for ATT, doesn't have the right band IIRC.
Yep LTE works great on the C6806. Was in LA the other day getting 30+mb down and 20+ up.

There are some locations in which the 6833 will get LTE but it's so not likely that it's not advertised as being compatible for AT&T. Even so, there were reports that some folks needed to have a recognized IMEI associated with their line of service to get LTE despite model and APN.

Hi Phaze1585,
When I had my Z Ultra LTE (C6806), I was getting LTE on AT&T. However, there are two things you need in order for this to work:
1. Band 17 support which the C6833 does not have. However, AT&T may support band 4 (which the C6833 does support) sometime in the future but don't know when. If you look on Wikipedia and search LTE bands, it says AT&T supports bands 4 and 17 but AT&T currently implements band 17 predominately. There are reports on this forum that the C6833 should work on T-Mobile's LTE since they are using band 4.
2. The SIM card needs to be activated or associated with an AT&T LTE phone. If it is an LTE phone but not "approved" (basically sold) by AT&T, you will only get HSPA+. Not related to Z Ultra but in lines with the point, I purchased my dad a Xperia ZL and activated a new SIM with AT&T (previous phone was a Moto Atrix 2, HSPA+ only). When I booted the phone, it only connected with HSPA+. When I inserted my SIM which at the time was associated with a Galaxy Note 2, I was able to get LTE on the Xperia ZL. Similar stories can be seen by searching on Google.
Hope this helps.

S10 Lite & SIM Band frequencies in Japan

Hello, I have a fairly difficult technicaly question regarding the Samsung S10 Lite. I recently purchased the S10 Lite (SM-G770U1 )and I am currently residing in Japan. To my surprise, I have learned that almost all carriers do not support the model that I have (listed above).
I have managed to find one carrier that I think might support the phone, but I am unsure whether the Frequency bands of my model are the ones listed by the carrier.
The bands that are supported in Japan are the 3G Band 1 (2100MHz) or 4G Band 1 (2100MHz) frequency.
Please let me know if these are supported by SM-G770U1 Model. Thank you so much in advance!
Name of the Japanese Carrier with the SIM information (thought it is very limited)

5G Network Bands

Hello,
I am looking to buy an unlocked S21 from Samsung Canada store (SM-G991W) and I checked here :
S21 differences that the following 5G bands: n2, n41, n66, n71 are the ones supported by the Candian model so my question is:
Is it possible to change the supported bands? For example, if I travel to a country where the used 5G band is the n28, will the S21 support this band. If so, how please?
Btw, I have seen some users changing Network bands on Samsung devices without root so I want to make sure that it works with the 5G bands especially from someone who have a S21 please?
Here is the link of the short tutorial: Un/Locking LTE Bands on Samsung I am talking about.
Thanks for your help

AFAIK this is caused by hardware. So no software related "unlocking".
