Install latest recovery Cwm,PhilZ or Twrp these errors normally happen with outdated recoveries.

Try PhilZ Touch Recovery, I never use anything else now.

i'm having the same problem trying to install Hypermax V9... Always getting the status 7 error..
I've wipe all the data and cache... but still geting the error...
I've install the philz_touch_6.41.6-i9300 and still having problems...
can anyone help me please?

I had already looked into the other thread, but i have different issues.
I installed xrecovery0.3_GBready ( the fixed version by Z )
and then flashed WB 4.0
Then i can't install any patches.I always get :
"Can't open pacakege filepath/filename.zip(bad)
Installation Aborted"
I'm also facing a similar problem with ThJap's ROM!!
Since my problem is similar, I thought of posting it here.
I'm on locked bootloader and my xRec version is 0.3.
I have installed many ROMs and they work fine!
Its just that when I try to install ThJap's ROM in xRec I get the following error:
--Installing: SDCARD:MaXtoR/ThGo2_v7.0.zip

Opening update pakcage...
E:Can't open /sdcard/MaXtoR/ThGo2_v7.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Even re-downloading the file didn't help!

but i think the problem is not in the ROM,
here i am writting what i got:
installing: /sdcard/myfirstrom_v1.0.zip

amend scriting (update-script) is no longer supported.
amend scripting was deprecated by google in android 1.5.
it was necessary to remove it when upgrading to clockworkmod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery.
please switch to edify scripting (update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
installing aborted.
then i press on : toggle signature verification & toggle script asserts:
signature check: enabled
script asserts: enabled
and try again to install the ROM:
installing: /sdcard/myfirstrom_v1.0.zip
finding update package...
opening update package...
verifying update package...
E:signature verification faild
Installation aborted
i hope now it is clear, waiting your help.
i found the reason here:

it is because of CWM, i have CWM 5, it seems it should be CWM 2 to work with this custom ROM, i will try to flash other ROM.

doomkernel v6 does not have cwm 5 ,i guess you have installed cwm auto installer,so you are getting error,doomkernel v6 has already recovery compiled,just try hitting back button when blue light turns on

thank you too much i did not know that i should hit the back button, i was hitting the volume up button and i was going to CWM recover.
by the way i installed CWM 5 via flashtool, but it seems it is useless.
I succeeded in installing the custom ROM.

cwm 5 is not useless,the thing is that you are trying to install a rom based on old scripting(amend) to new cwm so you were getting error coz for cwm 5 you need to flash a rom with edify script..

So, I need some help here... I am trying to flash the PPX Stock V3 rom for Galaxy S3 but I always get the (status 7) error. I tried with another roms and it is the same problem. But I got to flash the ones with aroma installer and it works fine, but I want exactly this PPX Stock rom... I was using the Clockwordmod Touch Recovery and it wasn't working (getting this error) and I've changed to PhilZ Touch and it the problem continues...
Do you have some ideas on what to do?

Make sure u are using the latest version of cmw... Most of the status 7 fails have to do with this.

I am using the most updated... and tried with other recoveries but no sign of progress. And I have read some threads with some possible solutions but still stuck... :/

I'm new to ROM flashing even though i have been an android user for about 2 years now. Used ClockworkMod for my custom backup. Downloaded Randomblame's taKTiK custom ROM but upon installation i get an error message: E: Error in/external_sd/tt-4.4-20140224-Release12-m470.zip.
The ROM flash begins as follows:
Finding update package
Opening update package
Installing update
set_metadata_recursive:some changes failed
E: Error in/external_sd/tt-4.4-20140224-Release 12-m470.zip
(Status 7)
What am i doing wrong?

i think its not compatible with your phone
It's a tablet. The ROM is supposedly built for it. I get a Status 7 error which means that the installed version of CWM is not up to date. Can't find any info on how to update it though.

Hi,
Unfortunately I am unable to flash another rom and I can't find a fix anywhere.
So my HTC One M7 is currently running on a snapshot of CM11 and at first I wanted to flash Paranoid Android.
When I tried to flash it it said it couldn't, it just aborted. I thought I messed something up so I restored my backup.
Yesterday I wanted to update my CM rom using the built in updater but it gave me the same error later.
The only thing I could find is to update my recovery, though I am running the latest version of CWM recovery on my phone.
Any tips?

Usually status 0 is a problem with the update binary.. So I would make sure you are downlaoding the correct roms for your device

I switched from CWM to TWRP and it seems to be working fine now, thanks nonetheless man
Corrupt package ? Just to throw that out there.
