External microphone for Xperia Z2 - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I want to plug an ordinary, 3,5mm jack with 3 poles external microphone to Xperia Z2. Is this possible?
Thank you.

It should be possible since android its self recognises microphones

Well, plugging the microphone in just like that didn't work, I tried that of course. There must be a software or some kinda other methods to plug a simple external microphone to Sony Xperia Z2.
Need help for this.

xperia s audio jack

hello every one;
yesterday i went to a mobile show room to by a handsfree to my xperia s. Then a shop keeper took my XS from my hand and he plugged tha handsfree into my XS audio jack but, unfortunately it did not support to my XS then the shop keeper removed it and again he started to plug in that same handsfree like hard core at high speed 10 to 12 times again and again. Guys will it be a problem for my xperia s audio jack i mean does the pins inside tha audio jack will get any loose conections? Ha guys? I am so scared guys i did not sleep the whole night because of thinking about this
thank you in advance
jafran
It won't break wtf man.
Sent from a Galaxy far far away.
There are no pins there and the only thing that might be broken is the headphones dont worry

Use only Sony branded headset.

[Q] Anyone have a sound solution for my xperia s?

few things gone wrong in my en-devour to play all my music from my xperia s to my car sound system with spotify, i will try explain as best i can.
using the auxiliary jack output to the auxiliary jack input on my car stereo results in poor sound quality with my sub and sound system. (this isnt the case with my ipod nano though, although i just found out i cant sync my offline music from spotify to solve the problem easily, and i could use the usb input on my car stereo which results in even better sound quality)
if a bought a bluetooth stereo and connected my xeperia s to my car stereo through bluetooth, would the sound quality come through pumping and clear like it does with my ipod through usb connection or auxiliary?, or is it going to be much quieter like when i connect my phone through the auxiliary?
i have tried connecting my sony xperia s to my sony headdeck with a usb cable but that dosnt work either to try improve sound quality, it wont read it. Not even if i mount the usb and yada yada
or anyone know of any other solutions to solve my delima?
apologies if this is in the wrong section, i am noob!

Nope not yet, been a bit worried doing it with such a new phone and voiding my warranty if i cant root back. Do you think this will stop the sound comming out the auxially jack quieter?

[Q] Using Headset with normal 3.5 mm audio devices?

Hey guys,
is it okay to use the headset MDR-NC31E with other devices?
Of course, noise canceling works only with the Z2. I'm wondering about normal stereo audio. If I'm using the earphones with my laptop, I assume the built-in microphones get the audio signal as well. Wouldn't this damage them after a while? Does it even work?
Thanks in advance,
avra
It does seem to work with alot of other devices, some of dont recognise the earphones them selfs,
Im quite sure no damage is done to the earpieces them selfs because mine work fine and i use them with alot of things

Those do not work with my old Galaxy S2 so presumably the newer Samsung devices are not compliant with it as well.

Sony Z2 and Piston Headphones

Have a pair of Mi Piston 2 headphones, worked on my previous phone. Aren't detected on the Sony Z2, is their a fix to this, or am i out of luck?

I Have the same problem, I can get them to work by pressing the Vol Down key for 3-4 seconds, but then the inline control doesn't work....
It seems to be a fairly common problem with the Xperia Z2, I't not just the piston, my Klipsch s4a don't work either, and I brought the piston just to replace them and..... well...:crying:
Here is a similar thread, and on Sony's forums the standard answer seems to be "It's not our problem, try asking the manufacturer"..... it seems we have to wait until enough people start complaining and Sony decides to patch the phone....
There is a solution.
Piston Connecting with the 3 buttons pressed, then the Z2 Xperia detect it. That if the buttons do not work ...

Noise cancelling earbud problem

I have the Sony noise cancelling earbuds MDR-NC31EM that came bundled with my Z2. Yesterday the right side went dead and when I jiggle the plug at the connection to the phone it comes on and off as if there is a broken wire inside.
The only problem is that they only do this with my Z2. I've tried to get them to do the same thing on 3 other devices and they work fine. I have also tried 3 other sets of headphones in my Z2, thinking it may be the phones headphone jack and they worked perfectly.
I'm confused as to what's going on. Any thoughts?

i think its a manufacturing issue, it sounds like some of the connector rings are loose
if its bugging you, you can contact sony customer support as all Xperia Devices come with a 2 year warrenty, your problem should be covered as it is a problem other people have had from brand new phones
