Hello,
I got a samsung galaxy tab 2 with my Samsung smart TV (the first one with a camera, it was brand new at the time to give you an idea of the age as I cannot remember how old it is) and I have noticed that the battery life drains considerably fast, even when in standby. I have checked the battery usage page and task manager to see if there is anything eating up resources, but cannot see anything in particular. Is it normal for the battery to deteriorate at this age and/or is there anything I can do to improve it?
Thanks in advance for any replies

I just purchased my first android phone the galaxy s2 from att. I came from a JB 3gs and all I can say is that it is night and day! I love the UI of the the phone!
I have a few questions and I noticed my display eats up 50% of my battery usage, what would be my best way to improve battery life? The catch is can I still use the samsung interface or what ever you call it? I do like it. If I need to use like the CM7, does it have the voice talk feature, helpful when I'm driving. Will rooting/flashing roms my phone void the warranty?
thanks all
Turn the display brightness down or put on auto brightness to save bat. Also when npt using wifi or gps turn them off. Cm7 is great ita what im running . No touchwiz just pure android. And you can always flash back to a atock unrooted rom with odin if u need to reaturn your phone. And the more syncing you have going on the more bat it eats so if u dont use email or calenders turn off the syncing for them
The touchwiz is giving me the voice commands? How do I kill the active services? they seem to turn on automatically after they stop. I turned off the email and cal sync. I wonder if the HTC sense weather clock is killing my battery?
Many Widgets cause battery drain. There is a thread created by entropy512 with known battery drainers, here:

I tried CM7, MIUI, S8, UnNamed and now Cognition 777 (just for the last 12 hours). I haven't seen dramatic differences in battery life between any of them. Its about how you use the phone.

Welcome, I'm also new to android from iphone 4. nice thing about the galaxy S2 is that you can change the battery very easily. I just bought a replacement Samsung battery for $15 or $20 with an external charger and just keep it in my wallet so I have the peace of mind. To tell you the truth I've only used it a couple of times. Once you get used to turning off some of the things you don't need the battery lasts much longer than my iPhone. Enjoy

I find that battery life depends more on how you set up your apps/accounts/etc than on which ROM you use. As long as there isn't a glaring bug in a ROM and I don't download any buggy apps from the market that hold wake locks, I can set my phone up to get great battery life on any of them. I could also be less intelligent about how I set up my phone and get poor battery life on any ROM out there.
I'm gonna need to catch up on all the android lingo. I got about 12 hours on my use today and had 10% bat life. Is that a good start?
Is it better to charge it on a usb/computer or wall charge? I notice it get hot with the wall charge.
It shouldn't get hot while charging unless you are putting it through some heavy use at the same time. Wall charger should charge it faster.

Not a good start unless you had 5 or 6 hours of screen on time.
I was fooling around with the thing all day and watched 30 min of netflix and played from games during my break and lunch. Will keeping the screen brightness at 70% drain the battery quickly?
I came from the Atrix 2 and noticed that this device burns through the battery a ton quicker. I do not play any games on it so I was considering dropping the speed down a tad. However by around 5 in the afternoon I was around 56% battery left. That was random turn ons, texting, facebooking, etc. Nothing too awful heavy.
hi guys,
i would like to get some help,
i have a galaxy s2 device with a battery of 2450 mah
the device battery consumption is very high (in my opinion)
and i dont know why
ive installed lately the jelly bean official CM nightly ROM
and the comsuming was a little less
when ive installed the 28/9 version it comsumed 15% all day when the device wasnt active at all (no calls, internet use and other stuff)
after it, ive upgrated it to newer ROMS of the nightly releases and the consumption went too high - around 70% battery consumption per day (with no major use of the device)
also ive installed a new moden version but the consumption havent changed
the brightness of the screen is around 30%
how i can make it consume 15% per day again?
thanks!
Hey. So first thing fo you to do is install BetterBatteryStats http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 after one cycle you should see whats is consuming your battery most and the other thing to do is disable Google Now. Ok you have something to do for now tell me how it goes mate.

Try the things mention in the post.
For many months I have noticed that below the threshold of 10% (battery) on my Galaxy S2 is turned off. I brought a number of times your phone for repair, but very often it was just a waste of time.
Please help me because I have to keep the Galaxy S2 for a long time and do not want it in these conditions
P.S: Drain the battery quickly even though he is using that increased samsung (2000mAh) and a lot warmer

Sounds like a faulty battery...do you have the orginal 1650 battery? Use it for a few days
Indeed sounds like your battery is giving up. Get youself a good battery - genuine Samsung/Anker/ZeroLemon (specifically in this order) are your best bets.
Edit - don't buy the crappy knockoffs from eBay that go for under 5$. They are the worst out there.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" Android Tablet that I purchased around mid December of 2014. Not too long ago, I noticed that the battery life is significantly shorter. I cannot pinpoint when this started, because I wasn't specifically watching for any reduction.
Also, I did do the upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop, and then a minor upgrade to 5.0.2 about a week or two ago. When I go into the Battery section of the OS section, I noticed that, by far, the screen was using the most power, and the percentage was INCREASING. At about 8:00 in, the morning, the screen was using 20% of the power. But, at about 1:00pm, it was up to 36%--WITHOUT ANY CHANGE IN USAGE. As a matter of fact, the tablet was often sitting idle (with the screen locking periodically).
Another thing I noticed while in the Battery section of the OS section was that the full 100% of power consumption is not accounted for--I added up the percentage numbers of everything that was listed as consuming power, and they did not even add up to 50% of total power consumption, So what accounts for the rest of the power consumption?
This happend to me as well with my Tab S 8.1", and the problem causing it was All Cast, even when i didn't use it were running in the backround and used a lot lf battery. When i forces closed it the problem disapeard and i don't have an problem anymore. Mighr not fix your device, as i don't know if you are using All Cast. But, good luck.
I have been using the Samsung Galaxy A10 for 10 months now. Currently I'm facing battery issue (Discharging at irregular rates) and heating issues (On the screen - top - at the camera). I know this is a hardware problem. But , my battery has lost it's life over the age. My battery health is only 87% approx. 2987 MaH is left. But , the heating issue is going out of hand and it's crazy! It gets heated up for simple tasks like browsing on chrome watching a couple videos and so on on. The temperature is way too high average it's 35°C but it goes up to 45°C. It's like i can boil a egg on my phone. So I've been thinking of getting a new battery. So i taught why can't i use the Samsung Galaxy A50 battery if it fits. Have anyone tried this before or has anyone changed their A10 battery ? Please let me know.
What's the limit ? I mean everything has a limit and so does the circuit of a phone. Do you think it's safe using a 5000 Mah battery?
The question is will it fit?
Yeah , you are right. I've been searching for a higher capacity battery and i think A10S battery will fit. It's 4000 mah and where i live i can find it for less than $15. At the same time , i think i must act fast. My problem is kinda worsening. The phone gets hot for no reason at all! I'm afraid that it'll burst. Do you think that battery abuse maybe the reason? Draining the battery to 0% like almost everyday , using low quality charger , etc., please someone let me know ASAP I'm afraid!
