hello long time no see, so i have this htc one, its a soft brick i bought from a buddy, it wont go past htc logo, it will however get into bootloader and try to get into CWM recovery but just freezes at htc logo. when in fastboot i plug it in to any pc and it never says fastboot usb like it should. i have tried device manager, drivers, diffrent ports, diffrent cords, etc. i even went as far as dropping in a working motherboard ito this frame and i found the charging port works perfectly and transfers data fine with the working board. i have tried toolkits, CMD usind adb and fastboot. im at a lost please help.
this is what the kid did do it.
I had a Sprint One that acted like that.
I put it into fastboot mode on the phone and ran a RUU and it worked fine even though it did not say "fastboot USB".
You did not say if you tried to run fastboot commands.
start with
fastboot devices

So I tried the S off and I failed a couple of times with the wire trick. My timing was more than likely off. I re-ran the program and tried again. After it rebooted to check my alcohol level like it had the time before it could not find the device. It just kept counting to 45 secs over and over and kept asking me to check device drivers and adb and fastboot. And it worked fine before. Before I even started I checked adb devices.
Now the phone boots to the juopunutbear screen and it when I try to run the program it says that the device is not detected. So I rebooted in hboot and tried to run some adb or fastboot commands and the phone is not detected at all. I tried my mac too and no luck. I tried a different usb cable and no luck either.
So no I cant push anything to my phone and its just reboots to the juopunutbear screen. I think I bricked it. I dont know what to do. I cant push files to the phone. Any help?

I'm not sure what's happening with your computer not seeing the phone, but if you have a microsd adaptor you could get a stock RUU onto your card and flash back to stock.
Edit: or just your boot.img. If you can get into hboot you're not bricked.
Part fix
As previous poster said, put a PH...IMG with boot on it and you'll be able to boot up again. Yours is third phone reported here with USB problem after failed S-0ff.
I can boot my rom, but no radio or wifi, No charging, and no computer can see it for fastboot. Hoping for cure soon.
Thanks guys. I am downloading an RUU now. Hopefully it works. I hope the usb connection is not fubar'd ...but i took the risk so its on me.
Same thing happened to me. I just finished uninstalling HTC Sync and Android SDk, then reinstalled both. Now the drivers are working properly, and computer sees my phone again. This should help.
***edit: this process helped with my computer finding software drivers to connect phone to computer. Before- "Windows could not find drivers for Android device" (device manager in windows)
I could never get it to work in the first place. Cleanflash finds and flashes to it just fine but the s off just can't see my phone once it reboots.

If the phone is rebooting to the screen with the arrow when you press power to enter fastboot then try going to recovery, your regular recovery will probably not show up but another stock hboot menu will. Then try selecting fastboot there and see if you can run fastboot commands without rebooting to arrow screen.

Success getting it to reboot with the boot.img from the rom I was running....But unfortunately the usb is fried. Can not charge the phone or connect to a computer. So I guess that is another potential risk with using this method.
Ouuuuch :/

(edit: kidding, no need for a ****storm)
I bought my One with bootloader unlocked but the guy who sold me the phone unrooted the phone before shipping and i've tried to follow the rooting and the unlocking bootloader through fastboot methods but every time i open sdk manager it just says i have to update, i update then it says restart, and no mater what i do, cmd just keeps telling me fastboot is not a recognized command... blah blah... short question is, is there a rooting app i can purchase or if anyone can give me a helping hand?
Edit: I have followed the steps exactly, switched off fastboot in power menu, and powered off entered fastboot from bootloader, plugged in device, entered cmd and tried it but i get the aforementioned error.
Edit 2: I made the folder and placed my files and it seemed to go a little smoothly but it says waiting on device and just hangs there. The computer is still not recognizing the phone, i still get USB not recognized. try reconnecting the device....
Oh also, trying to install a recovery to this, so i can root... but just an easy way
Please help me, someone... the bootloader says unlocked btw. but fastboot does nothing when trying to flash via cmd.
if you are running windows 8 you may need to install the correct drivers, i had the same problem when i tried to root my M7 and im runinng windows 8, if youd like the drivers, PM me i cant remember where i got them from, but i have them still. Also if you can try switching USB ports, i had to use a different one and everything went kinda smooth after that.

Hi im fairly newthis to all this so please be patient. I have Htc 4g amaze Tmous rooted s-on unlocked. I flashed a custom rom which is stock debloated. But, the wifi and bluetooth do not work. I want to revert back to stock by using the same method which is the Htc toolkit. But, when i restart in bootloader mode the phone is no longer recognized by my laptop running win 8.1. I have been searching for a week now and have tried everything from deleting drivers, reinstalling, downloading htc sync and removing the software but leaving drivers,, different USB ports 2.0 & 3.0, nothing works. When its in bootloader about 5 seconds later my computer says USB device not recognized.
Please help.

You're gonna have to be a bit more specific with how you're trying to read the device:
a) When you're in bootloader, and you have the phone plugged in, does it read HBOOT USB, or FASTBOOT USB?
i) If yes: Then just run the program. It will still recognize the system even if Windows doesn't show it. Fire off a CMD command or simply click "reboot" on the toolkit and see if the phone responds.
ii) If no: Use another cable, and make sure you're securely connected. Generic micro USB cables tend to be a bit loose even when connected, so make sure the cable itself is not "ajar" in the port
Once you're in bootloader mode, post what it says here.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Im using the OEM htc cable and everything else reads just fine. I'm able to read the sd card and send some commands through the toolkit. For example i can click the "boot into bootloader" command and it works fine. The problem is once it is in bootloader the command prompt window just says waiting for device and the phone says fastboot. I am able to reboot the phone back into android using the vol keys and the power button. Im trying to relock the bootloader using toolkit but on the second window (first being putting it bootloader) it won't read the phone following the computers message saying usb device not recognized. Thanks again for the help.

You may have to try it manually. Download a fresh copy of the Android SDK tools
and put the "Platform-Tools" folder under your C:\
Fire up Command Prompt, change directory to that platform-tools folder.
Then type in "fastboot oem lock" (without the quotations).
Your phone will reboot and upon the bootloader, it should say **RELOCKED** at the top.
If you're still having issues, I would suggest loading up on another computer, or if that isn't possible, download Ubuntu and burn it as a LiveCD and see if your phone will be recognized (properly) through Linux. Sounds like the communication protocols for your phone are fuxed. As for uninstalling and reinstalling drivers like that, you may have to use regedit to completely remove trace portions of those previous installs.
It's a driver issue, uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
Hey guys,
Long story short.
Flashed Kitkat with S-on (really stupid)
phone rooted
bootloader unlocked
S-On
Now softbricked, can't get into recovery, is able to get in bootloader, phone keeps rebooting.
Tried factory reset, no success
tried adb/fastboot, my pc wasn't able to detect the phone, no device listed
tried all in one flash tool, trying to reflash recovery, no success either cuz phone not found
when usb was plugged in, 'fastboot usb' shows up on phone's screen, but no real communication established. Windows' notification bar shows htc phone unplugged even though it's plugged in.
I guess usb debugging is off, but i don't know how to enable it
anyone had similar problem, any help will be appreciated
any NYC member here, i'm willing to pay 50 bucks for fixing this, sorry i'm poor, that's all i can afford T_T
Thanks in advance!!
Does it connect via Fastboot? The command is "fastboot devices" to check. You could try to flash a ROM through Fastboot, but I've never had any luck with that. Have you tried the RUU method?

Please help.
Here is the current situation.
My HTC One (m7) is stuck on "HTC Quietly Brilliant" screen every time I boot.
I am able to go to boot loader and have the normal choices there (Fast Boot , Recovery, Factory Reset etc)
When I go to Fast Boot, i am nevver able to get the phone to show "Fastboot USB" and I am unable to detect the phone using fastboot on my windows 7 laptop.
If I try "Factory Reset" phone goes back to HTC logo screen after rebooting, nothing happens.
If I click on Recovery, phone tries to go clockwork recovery v6.0.4.3 but then goes back to HTC Quitely brilliant screen and stays there.
Here is the relevant info (I can't get the fastboot getvar because fastboot doesn't recognize my phone) PLEASE help !!

Have you tried to clean the usb port ?
I use rubbing alcohol on a thick paper towel folded into a point
and blow out the port and let it dry a min before trying the connection
do you have other microUSB cords to test

Yup...I've tried a different cable (OEM cable that came with my HTC ONE S...)
I am able to charge the phone so I am thinking its not the cable or the microusb connection on the phone....
I am able to use the same computer, same cable with another HTC phone and everything works fine... This tells me that usb port on the laptop is fine and so is the cable.
I am at a loss as to why my laptop (Windows 7) is not detecting the phone in fastboot.
anyone has any other ideas ?
Maybe.... Are you using USB 2.0, Not 3.0 you will know because USB3.0 has a blue port not black.
I'm using USB 2, not 3
The phone charges fine but computer doesn't detect it. I'm thinking that maybe the connectors on my phone for data connection have gone bad?? Possible?

It's probably just boot looping due to a bad rom. I had a problem where my phone would absolutely not let my computer connect to it. Remove all phone drivers, HTC Sync, other phone software, etc, and install the drivers here without Syncmanager.
Then, kiss it for good luck as you plug it in and hard reboot (power down completely).
