Also, here's some instructions (taken from my Miui guide) just in case:
3. DOWNLOAD MODE
NOTE - Do not remove the USB cable from the phone while ODIN is running as this may cause your phone to brick. If you removed the USB to early and now your phone is presenting you with a "Phone.. ! ..Computer" image when booting then go down to the "More Information" section in this guide for the fix.
Open ODIN on your computer
Plug in the USB Cable to the computer
Remove the battery from the phone.
Plug USB into Phone
Hold down BOTH volume buttons and while holding both, insert the battery.
Two to three seconds later your phone will be in Download Mode.
*Again, do not remove connection while ODIN is running.*
4. ODIN
Go back to ODIN on your PC. There should be a yellow box under ID COM, saying something like COM 5. If not try downloading and installing these Samsung Drivers.
Click the PIT button and select the PIT file from desktop
Click the PDA button and select the TAR file from desktop
Re-partition is checked!
Click Start. Unless ODIN hangs, you should see a progress bar start soon after. The process takes a few minutes and you told ODIN to reboot once done so when your phone boots up, you are on stock JFD.

I need to flash a modem to my Samsung Galaxy S2. The history of the problem is on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841440&page=4.
Karpfenhai gave a solution and I quote:
Karpfenhai said:
If you are not yet rooted, you need Odin to flash the modem.bin.
You can also instal an update.zip via default system recovery, but it may be hard to find a compatible zip for that.
To stop your confusion, Odin 1.84 plus Samsung kies (for the drivers) are your best attempt to get the phone working again.
Read read and read to learn how to do so.

I would say you simply need to flash a new modem to your device.
You can do this by Odin too, no root needed, no custom ROM or kernel.
Have a look onto the galaxy s2 shipped modem collection thread. --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950
I recommend kh3 or ki4 modem.
Good luck!
PS: missing IMEI is just a side effect of the missing modem, don't worry it will come back.

The problem is I can't find Odin 1.84. Can I use Odin 1.85 instead?
Also KH3 and KI4 no longer exist, can't download them.
Can you please give me a better alternative to flash a modem to my Samsung Galaxy S2 to make it working again.
I will be very thankful to you. Please help me. Thank you so much.

first and foremost u have to learn on XDA is to fallow the rules ma8
since creating multiple threads for the same reason/issue is against XDA rule, and if the same is reported to the moderators, u will be infracted for sure
so bare this in mind and do not do the mistake in the future
now coming back to ur query, Yes u can use 'ODIN 1.85' instead of 1.84

Connection locked means you have to unlock the phone. Hmm.. You might have to push either CWM or TWRP to the phone via ODIN and try wiping that way. Sounds like he encrypted the phone.

Yes, that will work. You only need step 1-8 though unless you want to root and not just install recovery. I would suggest downloading TWRP over CWM just because there are a lot of old versions of it floating around causing issues. Just DL the latest TWRP (2.4.4.0) here: http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/sgh-i717/ put the file in the PDA slot, uncheck F. Reset Time, and hit start, wait for the success.

Ok I did it with CMW because I couldnt find anything on the TWRP folder that had the extensions the PDA button was asking for but it still asks for the password
When I clicked Start it said everything was a success but when the phone reboots its the same.
You have to have TWRP in a IMG.tar format. Also what you are seeing in download mode is normal. You may want to read up on using odin first.

Btw, do I just rename the file's extension?
Did you boot into CWM (hold vol up, down, and power) and factory reset from there?
No, you don't rename it. You just download the img.tar..img.tar IS a tar file.

You did flash the stock ICS via odin, correct? If not do so, make sure to do a factory reset and wipe first. Then flash stock via odin. Then try using phone before installing CWM or TWRP. It should have cleared password problem.

Hello Peeps,
Here is the tutorial on how to root Jelly Bean 4.3 Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy Note 3 Neo SM-N7505 Using CF-Auto-Root:
Prerequisites:
Install the USB driver with USB debugging enabled from the Developers Tool
Make a necessary backup of any important data.
Make sure your device has enough battery juice in it (80%)
Step 1: Download and extract the following files:
Download:
CF-Auto-Root-hllte-hlltexx-smn7505.zip
Odin v3.09
You should get a .tar.md5 file within extracted folder. Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.09.exe along with few other files. You could use any extracting software such a WinZip, Winrar or 7zip to extract files.
Step 2: Put Your Galaxy Note 3 Neo SM-N7505 In Download Mode
Now turn off your phone and wait few seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off. Then boot it into the Download Mode. To do that press and keep holding the Volume down and Home button at the same time, with these two buttons pressed press the Power Button all simultaneously. When a warning message is displayed press on the Volume Up button to continue to the process.
Step 3: Run Odin
Now run Odinv3.09.exe in as an Administrator because an Admin privilege is required to complete this installation process without any hiccups. Now connect your phone with your PC using USB cable. Once you connect, you will see a message under Odin’s message box in the bottom left-panel displaying “Added”. You should also see ID: COM port with a number and colored box in Yellow/Blue i.e. if you successfully added your device, if not then you can do the following Steps:
Re-start the same procedure.
Try Uninstalling and then re-installing the drivers again and restart you pc.
Use different USB cable.
Ensure KIES is not running in the background.
Disable Your Antivirus.
Uninstall or disable any program that may be causing conflicts such as your OEM’s PC Suite or any other third party software.
Step 4: Staring the flashing process
In Odin, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are only two that are selected. DO NOT SELECT ANY OTHER OPTION! Click the AP button and select that file CF-Auto-Root-hllte-hlltexx-smn7505.tar.md5 you downloaded earlier in Step 1 with extension .tar.md5. Now, once you are ready, hit the START button to begin the flashing process. This process may take a minute or two to finish. Please do not disconnect your phone once Odin sets in motion. As the installation process completes, your phone will reboot itself and you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect it from the computer.
Voila, You have successfully rooted your phone

No, Don't use it.
Using chainfire method if you root your phone you will trip the Knox to 1 and void the warranty.
Please note for now it is irreversible to change Knox to 0.
Please wait till alternative method comes up because if something goes wrong Samsung service centre may not service the phone.
It is a huge risk.
Sincere advice please do NOT root for now.
In the above post he has mentioned N7505 and you have N750 so both are different models.
But if you want to go ahead then you need similar file which states N750 in the file name.

First flash the original firmware to get back your phone in the working condition. Then make sure you have the USB tool installed for Windows and have USB debugging enabled. You can also try a different version of ODIN.. Though these files worked perfectly for me. Please do cross check the files.
Sent from my SM-N7505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Go to this site : >>autoroot.chainfire.eu<<<
Search for your model number : N7500(hl3gub) or N7505 (hlltexx) .. Click on "File" & download the zip file. Compatible Odin is already there inside the zip file posted by Chainfire. So don't flash with any other Odin version. Incompatible Odin will Brick your device.
Rest of the steps are easy .. as already mentioned in this thread.
0) Extract the zip file into a folder lets say FOLD_X, everything you need is inside this folder apart from USB drivers.
1) Install Samsung USB drivers(mentioned in this thread, worked for me) or Kies (but disable/kill Kies software after installation) (You can also take backups using Kies for the Oh ! No! Moments )
2) Boot in Download mode.
3) Open Odin
4) Connect USB
5) Check the ID: COM port and "Added" message.
6) In Odin the checkboxes ( Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes ) will be auto selected.
7) Click on PDA, select the .md5 file, inside the folder you just extracted.
8) Click Start and wait for the phone to restart(20 second process)
I have done it on N7505.
Cheers !

I followed this by the book and got a soft brick! Please help, I have no idea what to do. Tried to do the recovery with Samsung kies but no luck. Anyone has drivers for the phone? Want to install them again so if I can see kies improves (n7505).
A girl I knows sgh-i777 crashed and only the Samsung logo would come up. It would not go into recovery. I tried using Odin 3.09 and the I777UCLE5 file and it would start then fail. I am not sure what I may be doing wrong.

Boot into recovery (hold power and both volume buttons until you see the Samsung logo, then release), and Factory reset it.
Should work then.

If you try the three button combination as Steve suggested, and you are unable to boot into recovery, or if you are able to perform a wipe data/factory reset from within recovery but it doesn't help, then post back with details of the phone's behavior, and we'll try to help you troubleshoot the problem.
The phone would not go into recovery. I used Odin 3.0.9 to flash it but it only whent so far and would fail. No the phone does not boot to the Samsung logo but another screen saying that the phone had been flashed but did not take or something to that and to try flashing again. It does go into Odin download mode. It appears that the phone and Odin program are communicating so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Do I need to use an older very of Odin or another version of software? I am also using a laptop with windows 8.1 if that makes any difference.
Thanks for any help.

I only have a minute now. I'll check back later this evening.
Use Odin v1.85 and flash the latest stock firmware, I777UCMD8 Stock Binaries (Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean).
Both are available in the Download Repository, see my sig.
I'll give it a shot thanks.
When I go to download the i777UCMD8 firmware my pc says there may be viruses and even when I choose to download it it is placed somewhere in my pc and I cannot find the file. I did not have this issue when I downloaded i777UCMD5 . Still trying to figure it out though.

If you are downloading to Windows (7, 8.1 or 10) it will be placed by default in the Downloads directory. You should have a link in your File Explorer, or the path is C:\Users\<Your User Name>\Downloads.
If you have a failed flash in Odin, it will almost certainly be because of the connection between the computer and the phone, so either the USB port on the PC, the cable, or the microUSB port on the phone.
Thanks I will see what I can figure out.

The usb cable is fine, when I go to download the firmware I777UCMD8 the adg virus program will not let me download it because it says there is a virus. and I am going to your links to the firmware. When I started to flash the other firmware something had to do something because the phone starts up it saysFirmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
I cannot also get the Odin 1.8 file you have it wants to install some kind of other software and not Odin 1.8 . I cannot figure why all of most downloads I need are not working. The Odin program I have failes at factoryfs.img

Boot into recovery and perform a wipe data/factory reset if you are able to at this point. To get into recovery, hold down all three buttons of vol+ vol- and pwr until the Samsung logo appears, disappears, and appears again, then let go of the buttons.
I think you must be using AVG antivirus? If so, right click the AGV icon in the system tray in the lower right corner and select disable for 10 minutes or something similar, and then go download the file. There is no virus in the file, and it is safe to download, but sometimes the antivirus programs will flag certain types of websites and downloads. I would prefer that you try to install the UCMD8 firmware before we attempt to troubleshoot any issues.
Whatever steps you take from here forward, please describe them and the results you get, including copy and paste here the message box from Odin.

The link for Odin v1.85 in the Download Repository is a direct download link. When you click on it, you should get a blank browser page that has a google.com link in the address bar, and a download box at the bottom of the page. The downloaded file will be Odin3-v1.85.zip and is 203,676 bytes. Open it with an archiving program.
