Companion should be off. The xperia is connected?
upload a screenshot please.
I had this error when debug mode wasnt on..
Do you have an usb hub? Better use the direct usb connector.

Make sure your drivers are installed correctly. If on Windows 8+ you have to install them in safe mode to get them to install properly!

You might have the same problem with me which i already fixed it.
head over to my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/help/z2-install-adb-driver-t2833551
Also make sure that you are using usb 2.0. I plugged my device in usb 3.0 and it wouldn't let me change my device driver.

Thanks All Of You Guys I Root My Phone The Problem Was i used usb 3 and i should use usb 2 and i wasn't debugging my driver

I think you are about to be shot at from all directions buddy, your problem is nothing to do with development, send me a pm see if i can help you through it.
Don't want to play mod here but seriously we have four sections here: General, Q & A, Android development, Themes & apps, so my question is what made you think that the right place for your question is android development section? just out of curiosity

So you managed to get your drivers sorted then.
Your flash mode problem will be down to faulty usb connection on phone, damaged cable or technique.
i had this problem too what I did:
Go to computer managment and change the letter of the drive

Nothing.
You can root your phone, enable usb debugging or not, they are no difference if you don't use adb binary.

it is for the pc to establish a direct connection with the phone. if you do not turn it on, there is a chance of getting FAIL in odin.

This is FALSE. No link between rooting the phone with ODIN and the debugging mode.
When you try to root your phone (with ODIN), the device runs a special bootloader (Volume-Down + Home + Power buttons). Odin can flash kernel, recovery and all without any debugging autorization.
Although, debug ON gives nothing interesting for non-developer person without root access (ex. adb remount...).

Some one please help, have a big problem on my hand :(

[Q] Can't get into Fastboot!

Hello guys,
I know there's probably tons of theards, but I'm sure I read most of them and I'm still with a problem.
I'm trying to unlock my bootloader on my Xperia Go (ST27i) and I can't get into fastboot mode!
I've installed Android SDK, I've install the drivers from Flashtool, I still can't get it working.
What to you guys recommend me? Uninstall everything and install again (Will that even work?)
Thank you,
Kript3r.

First the phone must be turned off and disconnected from the USB cable, then you press volume up and connect the USB cable while you holding it dwn.
Another way is to enabled USB debugging in developer options, connect the phone to the pc, then in flashtool click the flash icon, select fastboot, and in the window the comes up click reboot into fastboot (via adb).
Try both methids.

IDK, I can get my phone in fastboot mode for a few seconds connecting it to the charger and not the PC.
What's in flashtool log?

Have you tried repair with PC Companion or SUS? What version you get from Sony?

Any particular reason you need fastboot?
You cannot flash custom kernels and non stock based ROMs but you can still root it.

I asked for the reason, and if its "to unlock my bootloader" you can forget about it alltogether. Unlocked boot loader by itself has no advantage over lokecked bootloader.

Can you boot into "Fastboot" mode? (tab off, hold Vol- and connect USB cable, led should turn blue, if not try Vol+ and connect USB cable)
Either way this should check and see if you can communicate a little bit.

I'm using CM12, so I don't know what exactly you have to do (never did that myself) , but I guess:
- Get a ftf-file for your tablet
- Install Sony drivers and Flashtool on your PC
- Flash ftf with Flashtool
Google is your friend have fun

Glad it's working.
Remember, if you can get it into fastboot mode, then chances are you can always flash a system image or an ftf file.
