Also, you can go to each of the forums, "General", "Q/A", and "Development", and use the "Search this forum" feature with the phrase, "dual core rom(s)", for example, or like phrases that express the general idea, and find other information.

Yeah I've noticed this in ICS ROMs with faux kernel, if you use ICS ROM try either Stock kernel, Nightmare kernel or Kozmik kernel sacrificing overclocked GPU of faux kernel ofc.

You may use any ICS ROM you'd like but I'd recommend Energy ROM. In Android Tuner app you can turn on the second core for sometime but this won't stick, it will go offline again after sometime with faux kernel. It won't even turn on when core0 is in load creating lags in UI, touch and in games. This does not happen in Nightmare or Kozmik kernel. Never used stock kernel.

You may test both kernels.

hahaha you consider a preview kernel, with limited features/functionality and some bugs, to be the best kernel available to the vibrant?? or is it only the best because that's what you have?
i couldnt even mount my sd to my computer on that kernel.
im not trashing the dev by any means, thats why he called it a "preview kernel". but to come onto a thread and call it the best available is ignorant, and can be very misleading to inexperienced users.
Honestly , you should try it, It work so good, Speed is great! , No lag, Battery life is awsome., the only problem, the games open but for some reason close,/

So far battery life is ok for me, less than stock passion but thats expected for a preview. I am finding Live OC incredible, set clock speeds on the fly.
But overall Topshelf is right, its a PREVIEW, with more features and fixes to come, so its not best kernel as of right now, but imo soon
Need a good Synergy replacement! Anyone got any ideas? I banned sense on Synergy so Senseless or ASOP is best IMO. So many ROMs out it's insane. Every time I find one I think might look good, it's out dated. The latest was Warm 2.3 but that's almost 3 months old now and looks dead.
Any suggestions, prefer it all working so CM7/9 is out (need 3g, 4g, camera)?

Yea, I heard it was a decent ROM
I gotta give it to ViperROM just for the support he shows in the Redline thread.
and InfectedROM's Eternity.
I still haven't found a rom that is as smooth and snappy as eternity.
I've looked over ViperROM and InfectedROM and both are Sense based. I prefer using ADW Launcher and I'd hate to have Sense still running in the background when it's not needed.
I just installed freEVO (sense mostly removed) today but it doesn't seem as snappy as Synergy which I've used for so long.

Hi, define snappy? A bunch of things can affect a ROM's 'snappiness.' Maybe it is LauncherPro (default launcher) that's not to your liking. Maybe it is the dual core kernel, or the fact that it's 1.2GHz if you're used to oveclocking. At any rate, I'll be here to answer any questions you have.

Ya know Freeza...snappy can be a bunch of smoke and mirrors with reduced animations and high overclocks... I prefer a good solid rom that I can further customize (like yours).

If you dont want sense running around in the back then flash Leedroid tweaks and disable it.

I used to use LauncherPro exclusively but I uninstalled it on freEVO as soon as I got it. I am using SetCPU and CPU Spy and verified I am still using 1.5 GHz overclock set to On Demand.
I did update the kernel too so maybe that's what's causing the issue. I am using the MSM8X60 KERNEL now (linked below). The file I used was CDMA-SENSE-AnthraX-2.6.38.6-REV_013.zip, maybe it's the wrong one? That is probably where I should look first I think.
I add Leedroid Tweaks too... that rocks btw. Awesome tools.

Is that the 'Disable Sense Launcher' setting in leedroid? I assumed that just disabled the launcher and not all of sense. Assuming... not always the best I know.
I am open to all ROMs, just not a Sense fan. I prefer stability too. I'm at work now and haven't had a ton of time to look further into ViperROM. I plan on doing that tonight. The Viper Control script sounds like it's what I want.
Love all the options we have... and the amazing support on XDA. Thanks for all the responses. Gives me a lot of choices.

If it is based off of 2.17 then there are no custom kernels right now capable of working with the camera. If you want full functionality, I would stick with the kernel it comes with which is more than likely stock.

Me too. I used Nofrill CPU to setup the governor to badass. I set max CPU freq at 1566 GHz. But when viewing the CPU freq in status bar (setting it in the Energy Tweak), I saw the cpu0 freq never pass the 1188 GHz .I try many background process like Sync, Titanium backup batch... to make device working harder but it still max at 1188 GHz. Recheck this if you have time.
Again, I fail to understand why this is posted in the Q&A section. You have not posted a question.

i think flappjaxx (sorry if misspelled) is the best JB action you can get at the moment. Ive tried just about every rom/ kernel out there. His latest is just awesome. 2 days and 19 hours I have been running his rom and kernel. I have it overclocked to 1.83 and used his gpu overclock tool . The thing just flies!! Awesome battery life and not a single reboot yet. I have no reason to switch to anything else at the moment.

Donate much, donate often, to "all" of our generous developers.

Running 1/14/2013 and I get the same issue. The older 2.3.5 kernel has no trouble.
Also, while the kernels bench great and feel smooth, I've noticed audio pops with the headphone jack that don't show up with the stock CM10. Probably just some sort of IO priority issue somewhere but unfortunately a problem for me.

I'm talking about ics. The over clock in ics wasn't real. Just looked like it. Didn't actually happen in the backend.
At least it was a partial coding, atis112 didn't get the time to complete it hence the actual thing you could change were only the governors and schedulers
