A few months ago my gt i5801 got a weirdproblem, whenever battery was low and I receieved a call, as soon as I hang up the call the pop up (power off, reboot, silent, data on/off) which normally appears by pressing power button pop ups and the phone enters in a boot loop it won't go past the gt-i5801 logo untill I remove the battery and restart it. I thought it was problem with the custom rom so changed to stock rom but still same problem. It was all fine till 1 aug 2014 when I got a call my phone got into infinitebootloop, I went to samsung and few localshops but they were unable to fix, then I searched over internet and found that it maybe the power button problem, and someone on the galaxy y forum wrote thatrepeatedly pressing power may boot up the phone and it worked for me but after few seconds again the pop up appeared and again same bootloop. And and nothing works even if I enter cwm it switches off after 1 or 2 seconds and bootloop continues. only download mode stays and I can flash rom easily but it won't boot.please help me figure out the problem, this is my regular mobile.

So my phone is not even a week old and it may already be bricked...
I flashed this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1713470) with Siyah v3.4.1 and xxLPS.
Was working for about 6 or so hours. Then following instructions in above thread i flashed the widgets pack.zip. About 10 min after i tried to reboot my phone and that was it.
The first samsung screen with the triangle pops up and then it goes into a black screen with faint sporadic flashes.
I cant get recovery or download mode to work. ive tried taking the battery out and putting it back in...
Im from Sydney so no Jtag options available to me... so what are my options here guys???
Pull the battery out, wait for about 15 sec, put it back in, quickly press and hold Vol Up + Home + Power, it should be able to get into recovery mode. Wipe data / factory reset should get you boot up successfully.
i wish it was that easy
Even that doesnt work...just loads up the first samsung screen with the yellow triangle, and then straight into the black screen with the periodic flash....
No recovery, no download mode, it seems the best solution you have left is the usb jig.
Hello Guys,
I am facing an uncommon issue.. Yesterday i was using my phone normally and suddenly it started to bootlooping. I thought it is a normal boot loop so tried to enter into recovery mod but no luck.:crying::crying::crying:
Then i tried To start odin to flash stock ROM. but after i enter into download mode it asks do you want to continue... Nothing happens when i press up volume key and after few moments phone reboots. At first I thought it was a Volume key issue. But even if i keep it on the confirmation window the phone reboot in sometime..
One more thing when i kept phone for charging it shows charging icon for some time and then it shuts down and shows charging icon again..
If anyone have any solution please help..
Thanks
Sounds like the power button is shorted out, warranty repair required.
What rom are you on? More details needed..
Well I was undervolting and underclocking my i9100 for a few months and it would suffer from freezes and stuff like that nothing much as I would be able to perform a hard reset and reboot with my phone completely working everytime that happens. However today, I just locked my phone after taking a picture and I could not unlock it after that. I pressed the power button and home button but the screen would not turn on. So i just took out the battery and tried booting the phone. It was stuck in a bootloop where the boot animation would just keep on playing. So i force shutdown it and booted it into recovery. I had CWM 6.0.4.6 installed and when i booted into recovery, it gave me the message it cannot mount something and cannot load last kmsg and blah. I took no notice and tried to format cache. During this point, the recovery hanged and i force shutdown my phone again. After which, I could never turn on my phone again. No splash screen no nothing. I think it is bricked. And yea btw my usb port is not working anymore and it can only be used for charging. And i was running cm11 infected. Can you all please help me thanks!

Yep i cannot even boot into anything no splash screen no nothing pressed the power button for like so long i even removed the battery for 2 hours and popped it back in not working
Try this - take out battery, then press and hold volume down+home+power and put battery back without releasing buttons. This may get you into a download mode where you can flash stock jb via odin.
Today I felt that something was heating up my pocket so I took out my phone. The phone was showing the Cyanogenmod boot animation and it was very very hot. I decided to turn it off from the power button. When I wanted to turn it back on, it didn't work. No vibration, no beep, nothing.
I have tested the battery on another phone and it is working properly. I have tried removing the battery, pressing the power button + home button, I have tried entering download/recovery mode and nothing happened. I plugged in the USB in my laptop, nothing happened. I can't even see the "Galaxy S III i9300" booting animation.
The software installed was "[5.1.1] [Build 17] [BETA] [2015-09-11] CyanogenMod 12.1 for i9300 ". Is there any way that I can fix my device by restoring it to stock or anything? Thank you!

Today I tried to turn on my tab but it was without battery. So I let the battery charge but I immediately realized that once the battery logo appeared, it would restart every 2 or 3 seconds without the possibility to charge the Tab.
Then I tried to access the recovery but although it allowed me to access it, but It restart again and again. And now that I try to access the download mode, pressing volume down+power up+home but after i press volume up to continue on the blue screen immediately restarts again.
I leave two videos of what happens to me, I hope someone can help me.
Thank you

Did you try accessing it by the recovery as in restart to bootloader. I don't know much, but there is a lot less writing if you do it that way. Oh well good luck!
Hello there. I'm having the exact same problem! Were you able to find a solution?
