1)Hi i think there is a problem ( bug ) in battery charging algorithm in kitkat sometimes it charges directly
97% to 100 % (full charge )
98% to 100% ( full charge )
99% to 100 % ( full charge )
Due to this battery drop down too early in idle at that percantage from where it charges directly.it happens only when u reastarted your phone and first recharge cycle you are doing after restart. it doesn't happen in second recharge cycle and until it will not happen again u restarted your phone.
2nd bug:-when we click in sound setting then on volume tab it take times to come up
3rd bug:-gallery takes time to open
4rth bug:-smart stay not working properly like it was with jb
5th bug:-become hot when using data connection.
6th bug:-in connection tab its lag when scrolling.
7th bughone heats when charging till 80% after that its become normal why dont know.
8th bug: sometime open apps not showing in taskmanager after pressing menu key we have to press 2 times to see open apps it happens sometimes.
9th bug.auto brightness is not correctly working sometimes when it shows full brightness it doesnt go low automatically.
10th bug.when we plug in charger in phone it takes a second to showing charging it was not with jelly bean.
11th bug:-sometimes phone gets stuck when clicking pictures in direct sunlight beacuse phone become so much hot in direct sunlight samsung fix this issue soc gets hotter in sunlight so phone stuck only pulling out the battery is solution its so much embarrassing.
hoping the solution from samsung will read these bugs and take care of them in next update
Got 100.5 mb update some days before nothing changed nothing solved and some bugs and samsung increased no. Of bug which they usually do
1.sometime automatically freezes phone when using
2.touch doesn't respond
hoping in android l update samsung solve all problem we can hope only. they are going down just beacuse of their software and update policy .
i am also facing same issues post update

Hi! im really worried!
right after i flashed lightning rom 4.2 over 3.2 i started getting wierd shutdowns and i dont know what exactly the cause is and how i could get rid of it.
when it shutdowns it say SMPL in the middle of the screen and at the left top corner there is some red text with some numbers.
what can i do to get rid of this ? Is this maybe a warning that my sgs2 is becoming bricked or what??? Please help me and im new to this forum.
come on can someone please help me ??
I face the same problem. On the top left the message [RST_STAT=0x10000] in red letters appears the green android man and a bubble. When I reboot the battery loses about 20% of its load. It happened with cognition rom and with Villain rom, so I have the feeling it's a battery issue. I once shook the phone very hard and the message appeared. Maybe the battery isn't at its place?
I will restore the phone in its original settings and report back.
Any help would be appreciated.
Wipe phone restore to stock rom .

This is what I did. It's too early to tell but no problems so far.

I got the same error message today when I took the mobile off my pocket after a long ride in ma bike.. Not sure if its due to heat or due to shock.. I shutdown by pressing the power button and turned it back to see my battery is @ 1%. Checked battery usage by app and couldnt find anything obnoxious. This is the only thread which I could find in the whole freaking internet with no GURU's to reply to this error message state.. Can someone explain, it look more like a BSOD error of android to me with error code on top in red and Android Icon at the center written SMPL in red!!

Do you use stock rom? I returned to stock rom and kernel and the problem hasn't appeared for the last 3 days.

@xalastras.. I guess its too early to confirm if issue is related to custom ROM. I didnt get the error with custom ROM installed for more than 2 weeks.. and today it popped up again.. bloody thing happens only when the mobile is my pocket, cannot even find out what the issue is for the shutdown!
Switch the kernel to speedmod instead.
Ninphetamine is the one used by the rom and is in my own opinion not the best of kernels unless you are going to overclock the processor of a phone.
You will have to decide which is going to be the better kernel.
You should also consider resetting the phone settings because there might be overclocking and/or undervolting settings in the previous or present version of the rom you are using.

i just got the same error. before that, i shut down my phone to take out the sd card. took out the battery, took out the sd card, put the battery back and did not turn the phone back on. after 5 seconds it turned itself on and gave me the green android with the smpl message. i took the battery out and booted the phone up and the only thing different was it seems i went from 100% battery to 94% battery.
my phone is on litening 6.1 with siyah 2.0 kernel
hope soemeone can enlighten us to ths matter
SMPL Error - POF Confirmed
Guys,
This issue nagged me for months and I used to think the issue is with Kernel or ROM specific I kept changing frequently. But the actual point of failure is the physical build of the battery and its bay itself. If your mobile bents slightly(Especially in tight Jeans Pocket) or shakes hard, the battery moves and loses contact with the point and once you take the mobile off your pocket you will this error with the android man confused
Fix: I placed a small piece of visiting card between the battery and the back cover to fill the small gap between them causing the battery to move. Issue fixed for forever and its 3 months now, I havent got this error untill now after numerous kernel and ROM changes. Hope this helps!
thanks for clarification

hey just put your battery in again
This had been bothering me more and more lately so I thought I would ask to see if I am the only one having this problem or if there is a solution.
Ive had my EVO 3D since release and it would randomly beep the notification tone , after a few days I narrowed it down to roaming notification and I took care of that by turning off the notification.
Well ever since than , when I go to sleep I plug my phone in the charger and at some point during the night/morning it will start beeping the notification tone for no reason , it seems like it does it constant every couple minutes for a while and than stops , depending how good I am sleeping depends on if I hear it or not , I think it happens every day but not 100% sure , I know if I ignore it , eventually it stops , but there has been times I've been woken up , got annoyed and unplugged the phone/turned on screen and it stops than.
I've been through all the settings on the phone I think and hadn't seen anything , it seems like its beeping showing that the battery is charged 100% and needs to be taken off the charger maybe ????
Any input would help , my phone is 100% stock no root !
Thanks

Maybe it's hungry and want sth. to eat? =D
..mhh, sounds weird, sure it's not an app or alarm you set?
Download alogcat from market, and when it starts to ring, open alogcat and save the log and post it here.
Maybe we can see then, whats causing this.
Only other suggestion (besides feeding it - lol), I got at the moment is to do a factory reset and look if this issue still persist.

It happen today for first time just one sms notification and I get really surprised when I see is nothing on the screen. And yes I have a battery calibrator. Can it be the reason for this strange case?
hello friendz..i am a owner of Samsung Galaxy S2 which i purchased last September & i live in New Delhi, India where the temperature is always above 41ºC in summer..& since the mid of the May month when the city's temperature has gone to its peak (41ºC to 45ºC), my S2 started giving me serious hang problem..the screen's becoming un-responsive & everytime i have press the lock button to & then unlock the phone to get rid from it..i was on stock ICS 4.0.3..first i thought that it could be some Virus or Software problem..so i format the phone & memory card, applied the factory reset & even cleared the cache-partition, but still the problem haven't gone. then i even flashed back to official gingerbread 2.3.5 to check whether the firmware would be a problem or not..but still the screen-hang problem persisted..then i paid a visit to customer service & the engineer there said that the screen-hang problem is due to hot summer which makes the insides of the phone like processor & battery to get heat up fast which results those occasional hang-ups when the phone is warm. and they just updated my firmware back to ICS. so when i came back home, i install Battery Thermometer from the Market & measured the battery..& i realized that my phone give the Screen-Hang when the Battery temp exceeds 36ºC & works stable below & within 35ºC..& this temp i am getting in Idle with WIFI & 3G on 24x7 in normal room condition & when sitting in AC, the battery temp is 29ºC to 33ºC & it works like a charm till 35ºC, so please tell whether there is a problem undergoing with my S2? & if the phone really hangs above battery temperature of 35ºC? please tell me asap..thank you..!!
I'm in mumbai, and well my phone heats up till 40, 45 if I charge too long...
Screen unresponsive shouldn't happen coz of this temperature as I normally don't face this...
Did you drop your phone recently?

hello guys ,I have to say i came back to htc because i really love it ,but this time on htc one x + which i think i have choosed the right thing (between a plastic s3 ,with bugged firmwares ,etc ) , After i bought i went to home and charged it a bitt ,then i started to install apps to personalize it more ,etc like a normal guy . After 20 mins my phone started to overheat and the camera was so hot ,i'm afraid to don't fry something ,i know is winter but seriously i didn't wanted a stove ,anyway after a deep search i've found a "Fix" if i say , but i don't wanna use it till i receive more information about it .There's a guide like this
1. Charge the device for at least 10 minutes
2. With the device truly OFF (NOT ON STANDBY) , push in and hold volume up and volume down AND power button And HOLD for 2 minutes and let go once 2 Minutes has passed.
What exactly is doing , and it is a truly fix ? Or my "normal" overheating is normal ?
I'm on stock rom ,4.2.2 android, didn't tried any root or something else to modify him .Thanks in advance
Also i forgot to mention , the notification light is low ,i barely see it when is on charge or receive a notification .
EDIT: oh yay ,now my notification light stopped working, sometime is like a inch of dust and sometime is not ,and only orange one is working while charging ,green doesn't work . Shall i try a toothbrush?
Use your common sense, take it to the service center. My phone used to Overheat, now it doesn't even when playing Real Racing 3 for two hours on a charger

No, it definitely is not. Take it to the service center.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
but at least is that "Fix" working with all those combinations ?
There's no overheating issue with One X+ in general, it's just Tegra 3 SoC getting very hot under heavy load. Definitely use Power saver mode to cap the CPU at 1.3Ghz when gaming, this helps a lot to reduce heat output (although it still gets hot)! Also don't charge your phone while gaming (or vice versa)! If you experience high temperatures on normal use, you should check your installed apps, maybe something locks the CPU to high frequencies or causes high cpu loads in background. Also i don't recommend using any app to control CPU frequency, they don't work well with stock kernel and may mess up frequency scaling.
In case all this does not help for you, maybe you have to send it to repair.
This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. If the tablet shuts itself off because of battery is 0% then it will get stuck @ Samsung screen on boot (after charging). I had to factory reset it the first time, the 2nd time got away with clearing the cache. This time looks like its another factory reset. Anyone else having/had this issue? This is a stock device with no mods at all. Any help would be appreciated.
Any reason you are running it down to 0% or is that part of the problem?

As a general rule, Lithium Ion batteries dont like to be completely discharged. I would.put it on the charger and just leave it there for a bit and it should be ok.
That aside, you can adjust some settings so that it doesn't run dead. Set your Wi-Fi not to stay connected when its off. Another very useful app is Greenify. I took it one step further and installed the app called Automate. Then I created a flow that turns off wifi and BY, and then triggers Greenify's hibernate mode, and then it turns the screen off. I put a shortcut to this flow on my home screen so I can trigger it when I'm not going to use the tablet for a while. Usually my tablet will loose 5% max over 24 hours of non-use.

This is again a system of the wifi power drain bug that samsung continues to ignore, the S2 would last for well over a week on standby just like Ipads.

I agree but at this point I am just trying to get my device to boot with out factory reset.
AQF5 build came out today for Korea, trying that now. The way they are increasing the build numbers, hopefully they are actually fixing something. Interestingly this had a modem file too though the SM-T820 is wifi only.
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-s...3AFA163EE8F90B
No dice still with AQF5 KOO firmware today, I officially give up. Likely a hw issue , only reason they have not addressed it across 6 firmware updates. Too bad since the tablet is very decent otherwise. Unlikely this will ever get fixed at this point since this is not a Note 7 type headline grabber. Time to find an used S2 to replace the one I sold or wait on something else.My S3 is going back tomorrow.
Yeah I had to factor reset it again to get it to boot. Its a nice device other than that.
