I am on latest Kit Kat and I matter what browser I use there is no longer text reflow. Makes using the web just about useless. Any workarounds, hacks or mods to correct this?

Yeah I saw that. I was hoping someone created a mod to enable it.

When I browse from the main page of most websites down into an article I have to hit the back button 3 times fast just to get back out to the main site. I assume this is due to the ads on the header/footer refreshing every few seconds.
Does everyone have this problem? Its getting really hard to live with.
Tested on Task650 and overcome roms, same result. Example sites: engadget.com, theverge.com

are you using the "android" or "desktop" UAString? Just a thought but it could be that there a multiple of redirect pages from the main page to the article via "mobile browser detected, redirecting to m.site.com" or something?
Normally i use the desktop string, but now I'm using the ipad string with the same result. I should also note that the same exact pages work fine on my galaxy nexus.

Disable the ad blocker, that should fix your problems. (it's built into most ROMs)

You can flash a standard host file which fixes it. Check the second post in tasks rom thread.
Disabling the ad blocker fixed the issue. Thanks guys.

I would like to find ether some kinda app that will work with my browser or a whole new browser that will let me to inject cookies I have sniffed off my network to open up sessions. I'm kinda new to android pen testing and its really kinda foreign because now I can't work with a terminal (command promt) for the reasons I want. Anyone know of such a app? Or browser? Thanks for the help.

It's not possible it would be a big privacy violation.

Its possible. There are apps that grabs cookies and inputs it in its own browser. All I want is the cookie injector. And not really a privacy violation what so ever. If people isn't smart enough to use SSL then there crap should be exploited. Not that SSL will keep you safe but android isn't that advance to decrypt. Yet.

Agree with you Bro. Use Droidsheep, it's more of a MITM attack rather than cookie injection, same thing really.

Yeah definitely. I use Droidsheep for arp mitm spoof. Witch works amazingly for people who don't SSL there connection. Right now I have a privet server that interacts with the connection my phone has, anywhere I go. Witch is amazing, i can use backtrack without killing my phone via connnected to SSH -> TOR network. I can decrypt SSL via backtrack and all I need is a cookie injection method to complete my task (so i dont have to do it VNC). Until I find something else I want to do. Thanks for your feedback bro.

I think the only possible way would be to use BOSCH (I think that's what it's called) to run windows xp, download a cookie injector and take it from there.

I was afrade of that. Kinda figure that was the only way. It sucks because my main way of connecting to backtrack is through SSH tunnel. That way it's all command based and if I really have to, pull up vnc.
Alright thanks for replying guys. If anyone can make this happen... you know I'll love you forever.

Apps do not usually use your browser applications to send cookies and heartbeats lol
The key to manipulating/injecting/hijacking phone applications on Android (probably IOS aswell) is the Android System WebView library that comes with Androids base linux kernal. Oddly enough, what browser an app uses (useragent) to make background requests, heartbeats, cookies...etc is really up to the developer of the app. If you know what you are doing, there are a couple of ways to proxy that intent request but unncessary. Most apps will call directly to that WebView system app to create HTTP requests. It also uses if i remember correctly, the Mozilla, Android, and uh.. idr the last one. This is all happen stance information based on something else as an android dev. lol but TL;DR: Learn how to use Intents. Intent hackers own your phone just as fast as you purchase it. Ideally every major company would stop everything they are doing right now and sign up a raise:good: on their App Security Development budget immidiately.:silly::victory:
If you can change or even better if you can Filter all the intents sent from TargetApp => Android System WebView... well ****. Suddenly you dont even need an injecting mechanism. Cause you're now exactly that. Probably a better result then one would hope.
there any way to manager or change cookies values on chrome on android?
Yandex browser & Firefox let u edit the cookie, just search '' edit this cookie" (yandex) and" cookie editor" for firefox. And do the same as you do in your pc chrome(+add to chrome).

I actually like the new browser. Similar features to chrome plus flash.

Guess which one is chrome and the stock HTC internet browser.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
first one is chrom with the grey bar above lols
They definitely made some changes for the better compared to the old one.
I'm just happy that it reflows text. Google removed that in ICS+ for whatever reason.
i thought they only removed that in some phones like the s3, i know the evo has always had the reflow. and if the first pic is chrome, then we pretty much already have it as thats what my internet looks like just without the chrome name
Stock ICS and JB browser don't reflow text. Nor does Chrome.
And I noticed HTC realized 4 tabs wasn't enough. Bout time.
Actually it does reflow in jelly bean. Double tap on the text.

Is there a setting? Stock Android and chrome don't reflow text for me. HTC's browser and other ones do it fine

After you zoom to your desired font size, then double tap the screen. It will work. There is no setting, it is default behaviour.

google now is part of gapps, i believe? the stock browser is probably not chrome in the interest of the manufacturers not having google's branding all over their products.

What browsers are you guys using. I've tried to give the stock browser a go but it sucks. I have a zagg screen protector so maybe thats it. Just seems hard to press links.

The stock browser does not suck at all. I think it's faster/smoother than all other browsers.
You could give Google Chrome a try. It's a bit slow/choppy for me though.
There are a bunch of browsers in the Play Store to try too (Dolphin, etc.). Give them all a try and see what you prefer.
I've used dolohin browser before and like it. I just wanted to give the stick browser a far shot one more time.
I use Opera mini. It's very fast and I love it!

Stock Browser is awesome in itself.
But I use Chrome for the link between phone and computer. Luckily dont experience this clunkiness you are referring to.
I'm using Chrome Beta. I'd like to use something else but the syncing of all tabs/history between mobile and desktop has me hooked. Otherwise I really like Dolphin and another one called Xscope

Stock browser does not sync with chrome bookmarks...an absolute requirement for me. I have never been able to get any of the bookmark sync across platform things work anywhere near as well as Google's built in solution, and I am not going to f%$$ around doing manual syncing. So I use the AOSP browser. Fast and light.

Find Chrome to Phone in the App Store, it's never not worked for me (as it is, in fact, built by Google).
edit: This doesn't support bookmarks anymore apparently... weaksauce. I always click the button to send to my phone what I need to read later, anyway.
I think it may be the thickness of my zagg screen protector. After using both browersers back to back the stock browser loads pages faster than dolphin but it just seems hard to click or tap anything. Sometimes I have to tap 3 times.
How do you install flash on the stock browser?

As the title says, I can't won't open any shortened links from Facebook, twitter, etc. Not even in facebooks internal browser, which is garbage anyway. I'm running JellyBeans22 ROM 4.1.2, but it's just the stock browser. Any advice?

any ad blocking or host file software? I'd disable those. If not Id try a different browser if that doesn't work I'd try a different rom. Newer heard of this.
Turns out it was ad blocker built in to the ROM. Rehashed and disabled it and it's good to go.... But now I have ads which bites. Why would an ad blocker block shortened URLs anyway?
