[How To] Increase speaker volume [ATT G2]

This is for the ATT LG G2 and requires you to be rooted. If you are not comfortable modifying system files, please do not go any further!
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage you should do to your shiny new device. This works as is, however it requires you knowing how to obtain root, navigate your file system with a root browser, and properly set permissions. Being as this device has no form of recovery or backup, please be careful when modifying system files.
So, I love the G2 but was somewhat unsatisfied with the speaker output. I decided to figure out how to change the volume gain.
Volume gain for the speaker is found in the following directory: /system/etc/snd_soc_msm
The file that needs to be modified is called "snd_soc_msm_Taiko". Please copy this file to your storage before changing it in case you need a file to revert from.
Open this file with a text editor. I prefer "920 text editor" from the play store.
Find this code:
Code:
SectionDevice
Name "Speaker"
Comment "Speaker Rx device"
EnableSequence
'SLIM RX1 MUX':0:AIF1_PB
'SLIM_0_RX Channels':0:eek:ne
'RX7 MIX1 INP1':0:RX1
'RX7 Digital Volume':1:60
'SPK DRV Volume':1:90
'SPK DAC Switch':1:1
'RX7 HPF cut off':0:MIN_3DB_150Hz
EndSequence
"60" is the stock gain for the speaker.
'RX7 Digital Volume':1:60
Change "60" to a number of your liking, For me "65" was enough to make notifications much louder. Too high and distortion will kick in. I'm sure too high could cause damage. Small increments are best.Play around with this number till you find what you like.
Save the file with the default file name and copy back to the following directory: /system/etc/snd_soc_msm
Change permissions to RW-R-R
Reboot
That is all it takes
Is this only for external speaker or headphone as well? Am also unhappy with the loudness of the speaker. Headphone volume is good and am satisfied. but external speaker, its same as GS3.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk 2
Thanks for sharing this -- great stuff!! Any chance you could post the complete file, so we could see what all can be changed (headphone vol, etc.)? (I don't have G2 yet.)
thanks a lot, great to see this stuff so early. quality on external speaker is definitely not a bad thing, but I'm concerned about volume cause I can never hear my notifications

Maybe try saving a copy, then editing it and paste on top of original. When I did this stuff on GS3, I edited the file on pc and then pasted it in.
Volume is terrible on my VZW version.

LG G2 Kitkat (German Rls) Rootet - Removeable stuff / Tuning

Hi,
Now that we have the Vodafone Release / Kitkat *rootable*, let's talk about Removeable / tuning things
I currently have removed the whole Vodafone Crap (disabled or uninstalled)
Also some other things that i dont need ....
After a reboot i have 1,05gb Ram free ......
I started some apps and then let it layin around to test the usage with Wakelock Detector:
I'am really impressed since Kitkat for now.....
Ok what i have removed;
System/apps/bootup : everything, expect LGTaskManager.apg
system/Preload/LG : everything
system/vendor/carrier : everything
system/vendor/carrier/system : everything (can't remember what was here ....)
here are screens from what i have frozen with titanium backup:
i also disabled the MLT stuff like in JB before
So why not list what you removed/froze?
change dpi!?
is there any way to change the dpi? i tried with build prop editor but had no luck
since i had my phone on 380dpi... 480 is way too big for me

Finger-Air-View activated

Hello.
I have tested this on my Note Edge but i think you can activate it on the Note 4 too.
Now i have activated Air-View with Fingers.
The Phone must be rooted.
You must go in the folder system---> etc and edit the floating_feature.xml
SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_GESTURE WITH FINGERHOVER from FALSE to TRUE.
SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_SETTINGS_SUPPORT_FINGER_AIR_V IEW from FALSE to TRUE.
Reboot.
Now Finger-Air-View works on my device without any problems.

This does work when you enable it from the drop down settings toggle.
However, it significantly gives a major lag in scrolling up and down the emails or messages.
There is no fix for this at present.

Hey all,
Today I discovered way to unlock/ enable finger air view on n910c (and propably in 99,9% on n910f) (tested on KK, maybe will work on LP too)
OK, lets do it:
1. Requirements:
1.1 ROOT
1.2 and apps from google Play: Floating Feature Editor and SQLite Editor
2. Enabling:
2.1 In Floating Feature Editor search COMMON GESTURE WITCH FINGERHOVER and change from FALSE to TRUE
2.2 In Floating Feature Editor search SETTINGS SUPPORT FINGER AIR VIEW and change from FALSE to TRUE
2.3 Reboot, and after reboot again go to Floating Editor and make sure the changes are still TRUE
2.4 Open SQLite Editor and go to: com.android.providers.settings >> settings.db >> system
2.5 Find line: notification_panel_active_app_list_for_reset >> go to edit and in VALUE at the end, after last ";" add: AirView; >> Save changes
2.6 Go to settings (normal phone settings ) >> notification panel >> press reset button.
2.7 Reboot
2.8 expand notification panell from desktop and you see new toogle named AirView
2.9 Long press on that toogle and you know what you need to do
------
Tested on n910c >> XNote ROM
-----
Sorry for my english

Try Xposed module "app settings". Used this to successfully tweak dpi settings on a 1st Gen HD; suspect it would also work on a HDX. Wild card is FireOS. The HD referenced above was running cm11.
