Before you ask, yes I did search first.
My HD2 (T-Mobile USA) started having issues with the touchscreen yesterday. I have read that many other people have had the same issue, and that it is a hardware issue that in turn causes a software issue.
I have yet to see a clear explanation for it though or a solution.
Usually the screen briefly doesn't work, and can be fixed by simply putting it in standby a couple of times. Occasionally though, the screen stops working altogether and will not start working again no matter what. I have tried booting into Android, flashing new ROMs, nothing will fix the touchscreen until it decides on it's own that it is ready to work again.
I used to have this issue occasionally before, but after I started using Darkstone or MCCM roms I rarely see it happens now.
I never had this problem until a couple of days ago, and I have been using Energy ROMs since I got the phone about 6 months ago.
The problem started when I began to use Android, but when it stops working I can't get it to work again even in Windows. I just flashed another ROM to see if that helped, but no luck. It hasn't worked since yesterday.
I was able to call HTC and even though I am not the first owner, they allowed me to send it in and repaired it free of the charge. They opened it up and replaced the LCD and digitizer (Thanks, HTC!)
Hey guys, this is my first post on XDA as I'm usually lurking or keeping up with updates. I've searched many forums for an answer to my problem but it does not seem that anyone has had the same issue.
Anyway, lately I've run into the problem of an unresponsive touchscreen. I can't even unlock my phone! Two nights ago I made three consecutive calls and about ten minutes later I couldn't unlock my phone.
In order to correct this problem, I first took off the screen protector to no avail. I was running CM7, flashed a sense ROM, flashed my backup of the stock ROM, went back to stock with S-ON, pulled the battery a bunch of times, completely wiped, removed the SD card, Soft & hard reset at a VZW store. Nothing.
Took it with me to school today, powered it on and before it completely loaded I was able to unlock it by chance, skipped the setup and it was working fine all day. I was hella overjoyed... until it did it again tonight. D: I so want it to be OS issues rather than hardware because I don't want to wait two days to get a 'reconditioned' TB from VZW.
HALP! Please? Thanks, guys for even looking!
MP
P.S. I do apologize if I did not follow proper procedure to post or posted in the wrong subforum. S:
I'm frustrated and sitting around with an unrooted TB, ohnoes. (Although the screen looks sexy as hell without a screen protector.)

sounds like it could be a digitizer(hardware related) issue. on the plus side, you can pickup a new digitizer pretty cheap... downside though is you'd have to open up the phone to replace it. it's not that hard to do and there's videos online showing you how to.. you'd just have to be comfortable i suppose.
i'd just fix it rather then going the refurbished route considering that god know's what was wrong with it before it became "refurbished" not to mention you have no idea how much use the phone had been put through and how much life it has left.
A new Hyundai Rock X IPS tablet.
Loaded Android v4.1 stock Firmware.
Turned off at evening as always. Turned on next morning routinely but waked up without Touch function which makes the tablet unusable..
Reflashed several time w/ FWs of the last two version of factory.. Every time the same result. Booting up w/o touch facility and not possible to start and execute initial settings and use the tablet..
It is bricked some way..
As it is not recovered by flashing with factory FWs, what would be the reason? Hardware failure ? But screen is okay, only no response to touch.
What do you suggest ??
I am away to China and no chance to ask service and replacement..
But if it is screen hardware failure maybe a new screen (as spare part) may be purchased and replaced..
Do you think Hardware ? Could it be disconnection of some part such as digitizer ?
Unfortunately i just experienced the same problem. Searching on Google and it seems its becoming a common complaint. I think its a hardware problem.
P. S.
Mine is just 4 days old.
A while ago I found a Galaxy Mega in the trash when I was out with family and took it home. Upon further inspection I found that the inside panels of the touchscreen were broken and nothing was visible.
Forward to the end of last month and I finally got a replacement screen for it in the mail and gave the phone and the replacement screen to a friend of mine that works in fixing phones and such.
When he replaced the screen, he told me that the touch inputs worked fine, however, after I told him to factory reset it since I didn't want to go through the previous' owners information and the data was wiped, the screen didn't respond at all to touch. We have tried soft reset, updating and what not [with the help of a smartphone mouse] and we really don't know what to do since I can't get a refund for the screen -_-
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Have you tried Flashing the stock ROM?
The Zenfone 9 is a great little device. However, since today I have seen several automatic reboots of the device. Anyone else seeing this problem?
I haven't seen a reboot; any new app you've installed of late?
Good hint - I have installed one yesterday. Will uninstall and report back.
Unfortunately is still get 1-2 reboots a day. Not critical but annoying! Anyone else?
I'm on latest update and unlocked+rooted. Not a single unwanted reboot.

Are you on the latest update? Mine hasn't arrived yet, but I'm worried this issue will appear on mine.

Yes I am. No worries. Device is great. Just software.
Did a hard reset - problem persists. Not sure what the cause is - working with Asus support on it.
Hi, a friend of mine with a ZF9 has got reboot every night during charge (he uses slow charge, this night he'll try normal charge).
He had reboot even during daytime, he did a hard reset yesterday and for now everything is ok, but I'll update with new info in case of.
I've been having those reboots for weeks now. There is an official thread on the asus forums talking about it. There are more than a dozen people who have also reported it and from the looks of it, Asus hasn't found the source of the problem yet. Out of curiosity, in which country did you buy it? Are you rooted?
my version is a french version. I neither had any beta OS on it nor was it rooted. I wanted to provide Asus with Logs but they rather wanted the device for repair, now I'm waiting for its return.
I doubt this is a hardware issue though as the reboots did happen in cold state w/o any system activities ongoing. The only special thing on my setup was that I used two sim cards in parallel.
I did a hard reset and he problem remained. I also used slow charging.
I'm from Italy and the phone of my friend is not rooted and with bootlloader locked.
I heard my friend minutes ago, and from when he deactivated programmed charging the issue seems to have disappeared. Have you got programmed charging on?
Yes, I have the upload scheduled. But I'm beginning to suspect that the problem originates from a lot in Italy. I just asked you because I thought it was from there.
Love this phone but also having the same issue. Bought from Asus directly (US site) too. There's a whole thread of folks with the problem too on their forum:
ZenFone 9 randomly restarts
Hi all, I bought an Asus ZenFone 9 from the UK online store. I started to migrate the apps from my old phone to the zf9 and once I finished I started to use my new ZenFone 9 as my main phone. However, I noticed around 3 dso that when i wentato unplug a fter charging the phone it looked as if it...

Try to deactivate it and report please ;-)
My friend hasn't got reboot since then for now, two days and a half ago.
My reboots do not happen while charging, FWIW. And they're always while the phone is idle (sitting on desk). I look up and see it's spontaneously rebooting...
I was having reboots on custom kernel, just updated to 32.2050.2050.34 without going custom kernel (still rooted) and have had no reboots yet.
Mine reboots while watching YouTube app, either with high brightness, while charging, or both. It seems to be less likely to happen if i clear cache from YouTube settings.
It typically doesn't happen in other apps. Phone is stock. EU version.
After testing for a few weeks, there is a good chance that the reboots on my device are due to Magisk (not modules)
