So my friend asked me to try to fix his phone (no really, it's not mine).
He had an old i605 that he wanted to use on Tmobile. He had it rooted with with a custom rom (Jedi X) installed but was having difficulty getting LTE or HSPA. He decided to flash the MK7 modem for the t889, which has resulted in a soft brick.
So, this is where I'm at. I have been trying to flash the stock firmware over ODIN but I keep getting a write error. I can only boot into download mode, can not get into CWM which was installed previously. I can not boot into the Rom either.
Here is the log from ODIN:

Custom Binary Download: Yes (1 counts)

KNOX Warranty VOID: 0

I've tried pretty much everything that I can think of. I read in another thread to try to flash the same file over and over without clearing or closing ODIN, but that didn't work. I've been reading all day, attempting to find different stock packages to flash, all with no success. I've tried to flash a new PIT file; you name it, I've tried it. I'm concerned that it will need a JTAG fix. I'm hoping that I'm missing something simple ... or complex, I don't care at this point. Hopefully we don't have to send it for a JTAG, but if we do, then we will.
If anyone has any suggestions, please send them my way.

Hey Guys I have a Verizon S4 I am attempting to help a friend with he completely bricked it. Now only accessible option is ODIN Mode. I have tried 4 different versions of ODIN and 6 different tar files including the full wipe and everytime ODIN fails. I'm completely lost I personally have a L720 Sprint S4 and things are a little different but I cannot figure out anything to get this phone booted.
This is all I see.

Product Name: SCH-I545
Current Binary: Samsung Official

Knox Kernel Lock: 0x0
Knox Warranty VOID: 0x0

Okay so Im assuming this phone either had the OTA Update and is on a Knox Bootloader. Like I said I don't care how I have to go about getting this phone booted any suggestions would help. I have bricked my L720 before and never had problems like this.
Thanks in Advance.
Would anyone be willing to help me? This is my Odin Log, no matter what I try to flash. This is what happens.

are you trying to load stock ME7 on the device? if so and the device had a different version on it such as MJ7 you cannot go backwards and the odin flash will fail, try flashing stock MJ7 on the device and see if that helps

If I'm not mistaken, the "Knox Warranty Void" flag showed up in MJ7, so you need to flash MJ7. Your log shows you flashing ME7, which is not going to work. The bootloader will not allow you to downgrade.
No-wipe and full-wipe images for MJ7 are available in the Android Development forum.

This thread describes a similar issue.
The user tried flashing the stock firmware through Odin; it bricked the phone.
If you read through it you will see how the issue was resolved.
Thanks , but its for G925F version ? what do I need to do since its not the same version?
Now that is another conundrum I wasn't prepared for. I know that half of the tutorial on that thread is compatible with your phone; half is exclusive to G925F.

I found another thread that explains how to troubleshoot a failed Odin attempt.
It is written for the Galaxy S2, but sounds generalized for all Samsung Galaxies.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/guide-t2345831
If you have access to download mode, you're ok but in order to reduce to a minimum the things that might go wrong, you should:
1- Use odin 3.10.6
2- verify the integrity of the firmware downloaded on sammobile. It should be roughly 3,402,561 kb in size
3- make sure you have Samsung Android drivers installed
4- If all above fails, switch USB cable, and then USB port
If you still have an issue, try downloading the odin flashable TWRP and try to flash it, if it passes, try wiping everything on the phone in TWRP and try the process again
As a last resort, you can try to see if KIES emergency firmware installation will work. If after doing all this you're not back up and running, you're screwed but i doubt you will have failed all of the above.
at first.. you need a custom kernel to root 5.1.1 because of the new system write protection..the second i think you are on reactivation look..look in my twrp thread for more
You got error on sboot.bin due to your flashing bootloader version lower than your device bootloader try to get the latest firmware or flash a custom firmware
If you need further assistance contact me via pm

I attempted to root my new s6 edge and after doing so my touch screen has stopped working. My pc registers it and I am able to get into folders. Also, if I lock the screen it will not unlock or light up again with any buttons.
My model number is SM-G925R6, and the stock firmware is not on sammobile yet, but after some searching I thought I found one for it. After attempting to flash it, I get an an error in Odin. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I've been without my phone for almost 2 months now.
My husband has the exact same phone as mine, is there anyway to get the firmware off of his to correct mine? I'm just reaching now.

I'm having the same issue, but with out the touch screen non responsive. I go through the same screen when I attempt to flash any rom to the sm-G925R6 Edge using Odin3 ver-3.10.6 or 3.09. wonder if it need's to be rooted first then rom added? seems our phones are the black sheep of the android community or I just can't hit the right thread to figure out how to flash this silly thing. hope you find some information soon.
Hello guys. I just made a new account for this problem. I will really really appreciate if u guys help me out, because my parents are gonna kill me if they find out my phone has a fault. So here it is.
A few weeks back i rooted my phone but then snapchat stopped working because of its new policy or something and i decided to unroot the phone. In an act of stupidity i unrooted the phone through SuperSU complete unroot and ignored all the warnings. I know im an idiot (Please help me out folks) Then my phone got stuck on bootloop. I searched it up and found solutions through ODIN and all. So thats what i did. I dowloaded the drivers and downloaded odin. Ran my phone in the downloading mode. Btw i did delete the cache through recovery mode and have already reset it as well through their and nothing happened. So back to the ODIN. I downloaded the firmware, stock one. The problem is i dont know which on to download. Thus far i have downloaded two which are, G920TUVU5EPK5_G920TTMB5EPK5_G920TUVU5EPK5_HOME.tar.md5 and G920TUVU3EPD1_G920TTMB3EPD1_G920TUVU3EPD1_HOME.tar.md5. As seen in the tutorial, i put the phone in download mode and ran odin. There at first the <ID:0/008> Added!!
was shown as soon as i connected. But when i added the PDA file, it didnt detect it and remained the same at 008. So i went ahead with the start and this is what it says,
