Ok I need some help my buddy bought the S3 I9300 in India when he was there and it came unlocked and rooted, he asked me to throw a custom rom on it cause I'm pretty good with that stuff, so I got into recovery mode and did a nandroid and then wiped the cache did a system and wiped devalchick cache. Flashed the rom and it was successful and booted up everything worked fine but It would not connect to the AT&t network he cant make calls or send texts tried messing with his network setting and nothing would work, so I restored his phone back to original state and he still cant make calls or send texts anyone know what could be wrong check his IMIE number and everything is there and good everything works good just not the network....thanks
flash a different modem. also make sure the i9300 supports AT&T's frequencies

happened to me twice upon updating my rom
what i did first is to checked my mobile netwrok then APN, restore the default APN and then reboot and if doesnt fixed it then change your modem
about the modem that is depend on what firmware or build you have, search xda and modems are lying around
Im using OMEGA ROM V44.1 and it is working perfectly on my S3
gudluck and hope this will help you
Ok im at a loss and need a tad bit of help.
I have a Verizon Note 2 (i605) flashed to page plus. When I install a custom rom i lose mobile data says disconnected. But when I restore the stock rom it has mobile data. The stock rom seems to work fine for everything calls, data, text. I have tried Carbon, Cm10.2 nightly, Cleanrom, and a few others they get calls and text but mobile data says disconnected. What do I need to do to make this work. Do I need to change my apn settings everytime? Will changing the apn settings even work? I bought the phone on swappa and im very happy with it but i do want to enjoy it like my other phones. Do I need to put in a sim card in didn't come with one and as far as i can see it works without other than my issue here.
Anyone?
Hope you flashed new rom with cwm

Yes
I imagine that page plus uses a different apn then vzw. U can backup your stock rom apn. Check the market for a app to do so. Then restore it after u flash the new rom.
Did that with no success. Attempted manually entering the settings and no cake.
Same issue here. Custom ROM = No data.
Does anyone have CM 4.3 on page plus working with data?
will someone chime in please.
Still doesn't work. Any ideas? My brain hurts.
still not working.

I'm almost 99% sure its something wrong in this and ill more than likely be able to get data back for you....also may help to upgrade to 4.0.5 as it supports better global gsm features

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509770 here is the guide i suggest going through after s-off to ensure phone has all necesary files and updates...skipped updates can result in missing system files that rom flash will not do...as for apn try this
Name: Airtel
APN: airtelgprs.com
APN Type: default,supl
if still no data and mms try this
Name: Airtel
APN: airtelgprs.com
APN Type: default,supl,mms
not having an apn type set will give you this issue of having no data...make sure before leaving the screen you click menu button and save it and once out of that screen select the said apn and wait a few seconds for it to kick in

If my Droid Incredible 4G LTE is connected to Wifi, it disconnects from Cellular Data. When I leave where ever it is connected to WifI, it won't connect back to cellular data. I have to turn off Wifi, then reboot the phone. I haven't tried something like switching to Airplane mode, I will try that. Has anybody else seen this issue? The phone is on Straight Talk Veriozon network, so is using SIM card for 4G LTE and CDMA for voice.
Are you stock?
No. Probably would help to mention that. S-OFF, partitions swapped and rooted CM 1.2.1 FWIW, this was happening with CM 11.2 before the partition swap. It wasn't happening before I did S-OFF and flashed CM 11.2 but I was also living in a different location for several months. It didn't start until I moved to where I am now.
I would try to do a clean reflash and see what happens.
I will think about that but I did a clean install when I did the partition swap and flashed the new ROM. I'd rather not do that again and have to set the phone back up again.
Today it seems to be better, I moved from Wifi to out and about and it switched to LTE properly.

I may have to try the reflash after all. The problem's gotten worse and now as of yesterday and today a reboot of the phone isn't getting me cellular data back. This did not start until we moved to a temporary place where I get voice service but not data at home. So the phone spends a lot of time on Wifi and not in a place where it can get data. So I'm wondering if the Verizon network is somehow forgetting about the phone or somesuch. At my old house, it was connected to Wifi but the data network was always available. The phone is S-Off with a custom bootloader and recovery. Assuming I wanted to try, can I put the stock ROM back on it without undoing all that?

If you want to go to stock, you will have to reverse the partition swap.

That part I understand. What I should have asked was "if I want to go back to the stock ROM, do I need to undo the custom recovery, relock the bootloader, go S-ON, etc? Any other ROMS besides CM I might try? That could tell me if it is the ROM or not but, again I did not have this issue until I moved to an area where I can get voice, but no data.
You should be able to remain s-off. here are the stock packages if you don't have them, http://android.cmphys.com/stock-fireball/

Thanks. I will grab a stock ROM. I really like CM 12.1 (and the swapped partitions) though. I was able to get the phone back to cellular data this morning while I was on a chat with Straight Talk. Why a reboot worked then but not the 3 other times I have no idea. I'm also wondering what happens the next time this happens if I go into APN settings and change it to one that doesn't work, then change it back.
Over looking at the stock ROM downloads I see a link to this patch:
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/93484/
The ROM I am running now was built on 05/26. I see a newer CM 12.1 ROM dated 06/12 that contains that patch so I will flash that ROM, probably next week. I'm on call this weekend and don't want to risk bricking the phone.
I'm running the 6/12 build and it seems happy. I only run my Fireball on WIFI since I switched to AT&T and have a Nexus 5 for my primary.

Ive thought about getting a new phone on a GSM network but where we are building our house I can't get a ATT signal there, so I'm stuck with Verizon.
Okay, so I've been trying lots of different roms on and off, all of them seem to break mobile data.
I'm on Mobile Vikings in Belgium, on the Base network.
Anyone else experiencing this?
As it occurs with any rom, I'm pretty sure it's not rom specific (also obviously most users aren't facing this issue).
Also, reverting to a backup of OxygenOS breaks mobile data as well.
Really frustrating as this means I need to do a full wipe, re-install stock oxygen and set up my phone from scratch...
On most roms APN settings are automatically correct (sometimes I need to select the right carier, sometimes I need to make a new entry when my carier is missing). Anyways, after a setup it always all looks like it should just work.
Regardless, when switching on mobile data, no 3G or LTE or even edge icons appear in the status bar and the phone remains offline.
I really hope I'm being stupid and there's some solution. As of now I'm forced to stick with OOS Lollipop if I want mobile data (which is a must have feature for me, as I'm sure it is for most).
Actually just finding out I'm not the only person dealing with this frustration would already be comforting to be honest
Backup efs from stock rom. Restore it after you flash a custom rom. And also reset apn settings after the phone boots up.

Thanks for the fast reply! I will try this solution after work & keep you posted!
Is restoring EFS often a necesity? I've been flashing since my zte Blade days, never needed to backup EFS before... Maybe just lucky so far?
I have the same problem. I'm on Mobile Vikings too.
zTweaked's tip worked like a charm! Thanks again man!
Posting this on Exodus ROM on LTE btw
Highly recommend following his advice to all Mobile Vikings (or anyone else facing this issue)!

Welcome, mate. I often face this issue. Sometimes rebooting my phone gives me problems like this. Restoring EFS is the easiest way to fix.
