That is not software issue, that is a hardware issue.
How did you break it?
You can try cleaning out the jack port with a tooth pick if there is any lint stuck in there.

Try a different pair of head phones so that you can be certain it is the socket and not the jack.........
If it still happens the its either a build up of crap in the socket or a loose connection, if you can see anything in the socket then try (carefully) to remove it.
Chances are that its a loose connection between the headphone jack and the contacts which you cant really fix without replacing the socket.
Might be covered by warranty, not sure.....
Hope that helps......
Thank you i will ask in nearest repair center if they can fix it
Hi everyone.
I´ve just bought an used atrix 4g.
The problem is that when I plug the earphones, those are recognized but I hear some weird sounds. It seems to be a codecs problem, but I really don´t know.
I searched a lot for help, and I cleaned the jack, but the problem still continues.
Thank you.

no. it's your headset jack. try to lift it out a little and it should be fine, or replace your headset.
Hey guys....
A friend of mine is having a headphone jack problem...The problem is that he can hear in only one ear and the other is not working....So he ordered a new headphone jack/Speaker from icables.in and he replaced the headphone jack...But still he is experiencing the same problem.......
What is the problem? He has flashed many ROMS and Firmwares but still the problem exists.....
Please reply....I humbly thank you for replying in advance!
Hi, the plug of my headphones that came with the phone was bent a few weeks ago and at first there was no problem. But after a while the audio stopped working in one of the earphones so i tried with a different set of headphones, just to discover that with them the audio is completely distorted. My guess is that the bent headphones damaged the inside of my phone's jack.
Does anyone knows how to fix the phone's jack?

what is your exact problem?? the audio came distorced or the audio jack dont play any sound trought it??
if they come distorced i belive you really damage your 3,5mm headphone jack, so the fix is to replace it (hope you dont damage the DAC too because they could happen).
- if one pair of headphones dont look good then you need to know to avoid use it, you now know that! i dont really know what the problem could be but, in worst case you damage the phone itself!

The problem is distorced audio (with good headphones)
And what do you mean by damaging the DAC?

V10 have a dedicated audio chip, if you get the sound distorced with the Hi-Fi option turned on maybe the DAC is damaged, if dont try to insert the headphones and turn on the hi-fi option in your quick toogles.
I need some help. After changing screen and charging port the speakers, both, has stopped working. In the process the flex cable for the jack was broken, so i dont know if this affecting. Does anybody knows what can be happening, because its strange that are both!!!

if only jack flat,i guess because "the phone thinks" there's a headphones jack inside it ( cause short circuit)and mute the speakers , you can go around it with root, if you cant find replacement or bluetooth headphones\car BT kit
