Lolllipop notification light option - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. Currently using a CM12.1 rom which has an option to turn of the charging/notification light in the settings. Does the Z2 lollipop have this?

You mean the stock ROM? If so, then no, it can't. Or at least not one that I know of... Maybe you'll have more luck with root...

Yep. Thanks. Never found an app for root that completely disabled it without exposed.

Turning off notifications light is there on stock LP. Only thing not there is turning off charging light.

[Q] Notification LED

Does anyone know how to use the front key lights as notification led's on our L9 since we don't have one? I found out how to use the camera flash as one but that's the back of the phone and i don't like facing the phone screen face down on anything in fear of scratching the screen.
If there is not a method already around somewhere to do this, how hard would it be to get this working? I think it would be a great asset to our L9s!
R: [Q] Notification LED
Use LG Notifications from Playstore. It's free but requires root.

Please try the NOLED app. Probably a better option. Tried on my HTC Glacier. Works.

Works for me.
How does it behave for you? On my L9 nothing changed at all once installed and enabled :/ What settings did you choose? Do they flash after the screen turns off for awhile after the notification, and stay flashing until they are read??

I just chose the default settings, and it flashes the front key lights till the message is read. Maybe cause I'm using P760 V10h on my P765.
The app is a battery drainer since it wakes the cpu up each time the buttons light up.
Im hoping they can program this feature into future roms for the L9 where it just causes the LED's to blink until the screen is turned back up when a notification is received. Not sure if its possible to program the blinking to run without waking the cpu?
That was another concern of mine, but if it was integrated into the rom in such a way to not wake the cpu then battery life would not be affected as much.

FIX: Proximity Sensor

Here is a quick video I made to calibrate our Xperia Z Ultra proximity sensor. I have had some issues with my screen not turning on when pulling the device away from my ear. When I applied a screen protector it just wouldn't wake up my device at all.. This fixed it good :victory:
Useful indeed. I didn't have any issues with this but I did see people posting about their own.
Ps (Bubble removal)

yea it's actually very useful !:good:
Quick question: Does your YouTube app work after the update yesterday? The app itself works, but it won't play anything

You can only do so from old FTF. I think 4.4.2 was the last one to have it in
does 5.0 break playstation mobile app?
Im currently running it with android 4.4.4 . thanks for your help guys
After small deform of my C6833. I needed to calibrate the sensor.
Confirmed that it can be calibrate by fallback to 4.2.
And effective after restoring custom ROM / flashing stock 5.0 ftf
Better flash latest ftf after fallback, NFC firmware was changed.
I have sensor problem in my z ultra.
When I go through this solution but I didn't find any calibration option in it.
Please advise me

The calibrate Menu was last in Firmware 4.2.
You need to downgrade to that.
U can Use Xperia Flash Tool. Find an old Firmware and put in in the Folder at Flashtool.
Try this

Help! S4 Active

I recently installed UNOFFICIAL 4.3 ROM for Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Had some issues. The phone wasnt charging but it seems like its charging now. And why are all the leds on ? the blue, red and green LEDs are on and have no idea why
Are we supposed to guess which rom you are using...?
If we know what rom, what recovery, any additional mods or themes, and what the last official version of the software were you using then we could start trying to point you in the right direction.
Also I'm not quite clear on what you mean by all the LEDs are on? I thought there was just one notification LED light on it? Or is it flashing various colors?

anyone konw how can i turn off the led charge?
If you are rooted, check the xposed modules. I saw a module there, that does exactly that.

u sure? I mean it says it is just compatible to the other phone but it still might work on Z2.
Download the Light Flow app - there's an option in there (at least in the Pro version) that will allow you to turn it off.
Or if rooted with you can use the xposed module Gravity Box to turn it off. I just have

I tested it. Only GravityBox for KK is able to turn off the charging led for now (although it has other compatibility issues so I wouldn't recommend it).

Tried this on Xperia Z3v, no dice. I found the settings in the app to disable LED on charging and on low battery, but they don't do anything. The phone ignores the app completely. Looks like rooting is the only option unless/until Sony pushes a desperately needed fix. Maybe they sleep with the lights on in Tokyo? :-O
UPDATE! :: It DOES work on the Xperia. You have to turn on notifications in Settings -> Display -> Notification Light. I had that off because I don't like any lights, and having it off prevents Light Flow Pro from having any control.
UPDATE 2 - seemed to work, then it just stopped working and the bright orange then green LED bar at the top stays on constantly while plugged in again. Sorry
Why don't you root your phone then? At least you have the option!:victory: I am now on my very first IPhone.....and I am desperately missing having an LED, even if woke me up at night. I miss you, LED!!
Root solved the issue trough gravitybox. Now lollipop screwed it up again (no xposed framework). Need to know what parameters I have to change to disable it

Use black docktape
I used an app called charging led and changed the colour to red for all battery level colour. You can also turn it off there too.

[Q] Daydream changes in 4.4.4?

Hi!
On 4.4.2 the deaydream mode allowed to set custom actions. For example, I had a setting for mute sound when in dock (useful in the night). Now on 4.4.4 I don't see how I can do that. Why have they removed it???
Any alternatives for that? Thanks!

My bad. This is done through SmartConnect app and NOT daydream.

True but there doesn't seem to be any way to turn Daydream off any more either.
Settings/display/daydream {on or off}
