Lost phone, now missing from android device manager? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, please help!
I lost my phone on the 26th of April and have been continuously using Android Device Manager (ADM) to try and track it or lock it for days but it kept saying device last online - 26th April - so I was unable to do anything.
Yesterday - the 1st of May - it disappeared from ADM - why would that be?
I also noticed now that on the Google devices activity page (https://security.google.com/settings/security/activity) it was last synced yesterday! I noticed at 10am that it was missing from ADM and the device activity page said it last synced at 10:30am. The tricky thing here is that I lost it in a time zone an hour ahead of where I stay so don't know if this was 10:30am my time or actually 9:30am my time - before I noticed it had disappeared from ADM?
It had data disabled since I was travelling abroad, but am I not right in thinking that my phone must have been booted up, not wiped so still had my Google account, and connected to the internet? I had sent a lock request via ADM before it disappeared from there so I'm hoping the lock went through in time and whoever has it is honest and doesn't know how to do a factory reset or someone else who knows what to do with phones. I'm thinking that if they know what they were doing then it wouldn't have had a chance to sync up yesterday though.
Thanks heaps if you read this far!

[Q] Bizarre data-dumping problem

Before posting here, I looked extensively for someone with a similar issue reported and came up empty. I also tried PPCGeeks a couple days ago and got no response. I thought I'd run this issue by the real experts before taking my phone to Sprint "experts" so that they can swap it out. Here are the details:
My Photon 4G has been rooted since right after I got it about 8 months ago and has had no problems like this until now. The only app that has updated in the last couple days is Busybox and that was the night before this all happened. My battery died and the phone did a forced shut-down that night. I plugged it in, powered it up, and let it charge all night & then noticed the problem the next morning.
I'm using DejaOffice for my calendar and contacts (contacts are also synced to the native phone list) and I use companionlink to sync everything from my desktop (Windows Vista). When I looked this morning, everything in DejaOffice was purged including my preferences (screen color, alarm defaults, etc.). I re-synced everything, powered off and then back on, and had the same problem with everything being gone.
Next, I tried purging DejaOffice data and un-installing it, re-installing it, re-syncing and then powered off/on and once again everything was gone. Finally, I did a factory reset on the whole phone (and forgot to backup my voicemails in the process...grrrrr), re-installed DejaOffice, synced, and had the same problem once I power-cycled.
One more thing to note is that before doing any of this, I attempted a backup with "My Backup Root" and got a message that my phone was no longer rooted.
It seems like the internal memory on my phone is being wiped every time it's shut down. I know the quick fix is to not shut the phone down however I'd like to get to the bottom of this and see if I need to get my phone replaced.
Any ideas??? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
<bump> and update:
I noticed that my "webtop version" is "unavailable"...not sure if that makes a difference to my problem. Also, when this problem first presented itself, I noticed it because the ringtone that I usually use (which was stored on the phone's internal memory of course) was gone.
Once again...any help or replies would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

[Q] Exchange issue on stock

I've had my DNA for not quite a month now. For the first couple weeks I haven't had any issues, then last week suddenly my Exchange email gets stuck at updating. No one else at my company is having issues at the same time (android and iphone users) as me, a reboot of the phone doesn't alter the behavior at all. The first one happened after I had installed the Qualcomm Snapdragon battery app, I ended up deleting and re-adding my Exchange account and it worked fine for two days. After the second time I did the same thing but also then uninstalled the battery app. Now it's happened yet again.
I've noticed that I have to delete the account and then reboot the phone before I can set the account back up or else it seems to think the password is wrong. I'm a domain admin at work so I've reset my password there and have had no change either setting it directly in AD or using the change password option in Windows. Has anyone ever seen this or have any ideas as to why it might be happening? It seems to last about 2 days before it happens each time, give or take 12 hours.
Let me know if any further information is needed.
Thanks
This one didn't even last 2 hours....and before I set up the account I went in and deleted all the data from the Mail app first thinking maybe something had been hung up by the Qualcomm Snapdragon. I think my next step is to do a factory restore/reset. I don't want to risk using Moonshine until I know for sure it's not a hardware problem of some sort (I don't think it is really).
So I did the factory reset last Saturday. It's been working great and I thought it was fixed until just a few minutes ago when it suddenly hung again. As before I deleted the account, cleared the app data for Mail and force stopped it, tried to set my account back up and my credentials weren't being accepted. Reboot the DNA and then was able to set the Exchange account back up. If the pattern holds true I'm good again for another 2 days. I'm tempted to root and throw on a custom rom, but would love ANY feedback from anyone with thoughts or ideas before I do so as I don't see how it could be anything hardware related...but you never know.
Thanks.

SOLVED - Wrong date & time

Hi
I switched off the smartwatch two days ago with half battery, and now that I switched it on and connect it again with the same smartphone it has a wrong date & time, 1 Gen. 1970 1:00AM.

Thanks. This is the second time this has happened to me and a phone restart seems the best and fastest way to correct the problem.
BTW, the watch was 4 hours ahead

My watch his telling me random time. I'm getting email/facebook/linked in updates instantly, but my watch is telling me its 6.15am on Thursday 6th of January and then 4.22am on the 2nd January (the time here in Sydney is 12.55pm!). Then occasionally is telling me the actual time.
Its haunted!
I cannot understand why there is no option to set the clock manual on the watch

Device Secuirty: Unauthorised actions

Hi there fellow S6 edge owners.
my version of Samsung S6 Edge is Hong Kong's G9250, only got this phone two days, ago, I used to have an HTC One m7 and always rooted with custom roms, but seems like Samsung has done a great job this time, I am going to stick with stock rom for now.
Strange things happened to me after I purchase from the store and with the helpful staff from the samsung store helping me setting up this beauty. Not long later after I walk out of the store the Following message from Security Log pops up: "Unauthorised actions have been detected. Restart your device to undo any unauthorised changes"
So I restart my phone, thinking it's no biggie, but the message would reoccur any time in between 30 to 2 hours, or when I am updating and installing apps as a new phone. I didn't transfer any old contents, nor having install any apk manually. The rom is stock as it can be.
So I factory reset it, and the same message would keep popping up, I scan my phone using the security app and no threats were found, but I had to restart my phone to make the notifications goes away, I start to suspect there might be something wrong with the rom itself or the kernel, so I decide to Factory reset it in under 6 hours of purchase, after booting on and signing in, the message would come up again!!
So I took it to the store, and asked them have they seen this? One of the manager said you need to cleared the app preferences and clear the credentials. I also updated the security policy myself. but still no luck. So they gave me a new one, with in 20 minutes of setting up, the message "Unauthorised actions have been detected. Restart your device to undo any unauthorised changes" Comes up again.
I am just wondering if any other is experiencing any similar issues? This is getting annoying.
same issue
Im having the same issue with Australian stock.
I too am having the same issue on Australian stock. :/
I'm having the exact same issue with Hong Kong stock. Tried everything from reinstalling to clearing the app preferences.
Has anyone found a solution to this annoyance? I don't like these notifications popping up every 5 minutes!!
If youre rooted, Use TitaniumBackup and freeze "SecurityLogAgent"
it'll get rid of those popups
Sent from my SM-G925V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Same problem
Norwegian Phone. Same problem. Notification every 5 min or so.

same problem here as well
So, I was faced with the same problem as you all above. I did a bit of research and speculate (I'm still not 100% on this) that this security bug is linked with the keyboard Samsung has preinstalled on the device. Try disabling it, using another keyboard, or just disconnecting it from any network it may use (mainly to update your dictionary regularly.)
What I did exactly:
-Reboot phone into recovery, wipe cache partition, factory reset.
-Start up phone, security threat came after a few minutes, before anything was installed.
-Restarted phone through security to reset kernel
-On startup, disabled keyboard and enabled swiftkey. Scanned, result: secure.
-Enabled keyboard, but disabled all features. No problems. Scanned, result: secure.
-Enabled features one by one, no problems yet. No problems. Scanned, result: secure.
-Reset keyboard settings. Scanned, result: secure. After a few minutes, security was triggered.
As I said, this may or may not be related, but this is the first time I've been seeing my phone as secured since I bought it.
I read somewhere that the problem is known.. and should be fixed in an update...if you are rooted you know what you have to do
Had the very same problem which disappeared with the update to 5.1.1. Have a couple of colleagues who suffered as well as the update cleared it up. Unfortunately from what I've read 5.1.1 kills the prospect of rooting without triggering Knox... Should have done more research before rushing to update...

GTS 2 Mini (2022) - Update bricked my device on 10/17/2022

I am not sure how widespred was this, however on the 17th of october of 2022 my device was likely bricked over a firmware update made through the Zepp app.
Black screen, no matter how long I press the button. No response on the app. Its likely dead.
I have found mentions of this issue on very few places. On a few videos on youtube about fixing a black screen issue on this device i found some comments about people getting an update that made their devices unresponsible and nothing was making it go back. These comments were all made the same day I had this problem.
There is also a thread on the r/amazfit subreddit.
I'm luckly getting my device replaced trough the store, but it's definitely a bother.
Anyone else had this problem?
The same thing happened to me and on the same day(17), the watch did not connect to the application so I updated via playstore then downloaded suggested update, it was then that appeared the "update failure" i tried again and then appeared "update completed", but soon after the clock turned off and no longer turned on.
Same happened to my watch, It has been dead since last 7 days. Don't know how to recover from update.
The Service Center in Delhi says it will take one month for them to return watch after fix.
