Hello.. I'm new to RAZR
I was on stock 4.1.2 and I tried to download and install latest nightly cm12
I read from the wiki that i should install cm12 in safestrap http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Spyder_Info
I went to the download page of safestrap, but i downloaded the wrong version for my device.
I should've download Safestrap-umts_spyder-v3.75.apk but i downloaded Safestrap-spyder-v3.75.apk instead.
safestrap installed fine. But the rom installation failed and after reboot, I can't get back into safestrap by pressing menu while M logo..
I can't get into fastboot by pressing volume down and power either
Any solution? Thanks in advance

When you see the M logo, press and hold power button untill you see a quick flash, like crt effect ( in that way you are sure that the phone is off) and immediately press vol+,vol- and power button at the same time.

didnt work
It will work if you had chosen the right package, just choose the original package of you phone, specified your model and region. Find out here
sbf.droid-developers.org
Then boot in AP Fastboot or some other, USB connected, then RSD Lite will show there was a device connected. unzip the package you downloaded, open the XXXXXXXX.xml in RSD Lite and click start.........After a little while, everything back to normal

Okay this is what happened. I own the razr maxx and i got a little impacient and decided to download the leaked .210 4.0.4 motorola ota. That went fine and i was running that for 4 days. Then i wanted to go back to stock 2.3.6 so i used the Mats Utility 1.6 to do so i let it do its thing and i came back and i turned on the phone. It booted up to the M logo and then a couple seconds later the screen turns black. I really need help on this. I have tried using RSD light and flashing the stock rom but it says flash failed. I can boot into stock recovery and everything else.
Can someone help?

Once on .210, there is no going back to GB (2.3.6).....Thinking you are probably screwed. Might be able to reflash .210 or .211
You can try and flash back, but future reference heed the warnings.

I was in the same boat but in order to get recovery I had Vol+ Down for quite a bit maybe 40 sec. It flashed a bar. Here was the catch. if I continued to depress the power button plus V0l+ and Vol- I git the black screen The trick is to release power and depress Vol+ & Vol- when it shuts down. From there you can get to recovery etc.
If i wanted to go back to .210 how do i go along doing so?

4. DO NOT CLICK INSTALL RECOVERY, AND DO NOT INSTALL BOOTSTRAP
5. Copy the update file and the .crc to /cache
6. Open /cache in a file browser of your choosing that will prompt you which application to use instead of opening the .zip file itself (ES File Explorer seems most popular)
7. Tap on the .zip and open it with ROM Manager
8. Don't check anything in the popup and reboot recovery
9. It will flash and finish
10. Done! I recommend factory resetting again here. Reroot if you want.
If you're on a previous ICS leak, above .79
- PUT THE .206 UPDATE FILE ON YOUR EXTERNAL SD CARD FIRST.
You will not be able to use your RAZR to put the files on the SD card after you begin. Please do so beforehand.
- Open the Droid Razr Utility 1.6
- Turn your phone off, & then turn it back on holding VOL DWN and PWR to boot into AP Fastboot
- Select Fastboot to .181 in the Utility & follow the onscreen directions
- Let it complete. There will be quite a few errors, don't panic - this is normal.
You are now on what we coined "Psuedo-.181" - some weird hybrid of GB and ICS files. Your phone will not boot at this point.
- Open the unstick ICS tool
- Choose the newest (.20X) kernel
- Let it install, and reboot.
Because of this kernel upgrade, you are now able to flash ICS again... even a later version.
- Turn your phone off
- Hold VOL DOWN + VOL UP + PWR, then use VOL DWN to go to "Recovery" and VOL UP to select it
- Press VOL DWN + VOL UP to bring up the menu
- Navigate to "Apply update from external SD"
- Select the .20X zip file you downloaded.
- *IF IT FAILS THE FIRST TIME, TRY THIS PARAGRAPH AGAIN*
And now you're on the new ICS!
If you want root afterwards:
- Turn on your phone and let it boot normally
- Set everything up, and then turn on USB debugging
- Turn off your phone
- Hold VOL DWN + PWR to boot into AP Fastboot mode again
- Open the UnstickICS tool on your computer again
- Install the .85 kernel
- Turn your phone off
- Hold VOL DWN + VOL UP + PWR, then use VOL DWN to navigate to BP Tools, and VOL UP to select it
- Your phone should boot normally.
- Open the Droid Razr Utility 1.6 and select Root ICS.
- Follow the onscreen directions, pressing a button when it finishes rebooting, 3x.
- Turn your phone off again.
- Hold VOL DWN + PWR to boot into AP Fastboot again
- Use UnstickICS to flash the kernel of the version you want to upgrade to again
- Reboot
You need to do this, because the 4.0.4 kernel is not vulnerable to any root exploits. Going back to a previous kernel (in this case, 4.0.3) will allow you to exploit and obtain root, and then upgrade back to 4.0.4.
If you have any questions, I'll be glad to help.
wOw
Wicked dude.

I am also wondering why there are so many threads like this even each posted leak is marked that here is no way back to 2.3.6. with many exclamation marks....
Hey guys,
I was running the newest Paranoid Android 3.60 with DoriMax kernel and decided to switch to the latest SiyahKernel. Unfortunately after installing the kernel through cwm and rebooting all I got was a blank screen after the SiyahKernel logo.
Now heres my problem, normally I would just boot into cwm and reinstall a working kernel, however, I stupidly forgot that my home button is not working! So now I have NO way to boot into cwm and the phone will not boot,
What are my options here guys? The phone is dead?
Cheers
i only see a jig as a solution, which forces your phone into download mode

No,there is a way to enter Download mode. You can try something.....turn off phone, and pull out/re-instert battery.Don't turn on yet!Now start pressing and holding the VOL DOWN button only. With phone turned off,and pressing the VOL DOWN key,put in charger.Keep holding the button, until you see Download mode.

Thank you my friend!
Hello,
I tried to update a friends XT910. He was running 4.0.4. I followed this tutorial. To install Clockwork Recovery, I followed this tutorial. And then, I flashed the rom (and gapps) from this link (Slim Kat). It installed fine, but then when I rebooted, I get the Moto Dual Core logo, it stays for about 30 seconds, and then blank screen. It doesn't automatically restart, it just shuts down.
If I hold down the Volume down + Power button, I get the AP fastboot menu. If I hold down Volume up + Volume down + Power buttons together, I get this green Android guy on the floor, with a red triangle in the middle. If I press the volume keys, it goes into the recovery.
What do I do! How do I get it to work again? Please help!

When green android with a red triangle appears, press the volume keys and select factory/data reset option.
But you shouldn't instal clockwork, that's old recovery, now you have Safestrap or BootMenuManager.

Looks like you've bricked it...same as I did few months ago. I suggest flashing stock firmware all over again using RSD Lite, then rooting the device and installing Safestrap recovery. Search my posts here and you'll find detailed instructions on how to do it.

Okay so what I'm gonna do is:
1. Delete CID: fastboot erase cid
2. Flash stock firmware (does the region matter at all, since I've removed the CID? This list has 4.0.4 but from Brazil, does this matter?
3. Follow this tutorial to root it again
4. Install SafeStrap.
Anything I'm missing?

First of all, you've forgot to hit thanks button
Firmware doesn't matter as long it's for GSM version...I tried several of them and it only booted with taiwanese firmware. These steps seem fine, try it until your battery drains, after that you'll need factory cable to flash it.
see if that helps...RSDLITE restore and then you can root by
(Use this Rooting method only on ICS 4.0.4)
Hi, I just started flashing for the first time.
I first did a root using EternityProject EasyRootICS v1.5.
Then I installed recovery Razr ClockWorkMod Touch 5.8.4.5 Black Edition and made a backup.
Then I flashed this rom ([ROM][4.4.4][AOSP][CDMA/GSM][Unofficial] SlimKat)
I did a clean install and after pressing reboot, it stays a blank screen. When I disconnect my USB, I hear the sound of a device disconnecting vice versa meaning my phone is still working??
My previous android was running 4.0.4.
Please help?

OMG Thanks for your reply! I've just looked into RSD Lite and I can't power off my phone... It is actually on, and when i press power and volume down, it restarts it! What do I do to enter RDS Lite?
Ok, I got it by holding power and volume down, and once it blacks out, let go of power button and hold volume up button..
Now onto RDS Lite, it's saying failed flashing process. 1/24 flash cdt.bin_signed -> Phone returned failed
