Gravity Box mobile radio issue - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok im new to this community lol. I recently rooted my boost mobile moto e (surnia) and installed gravity box. I enabled network mode toggle in quicksettings (status bar) and when i clicked it, it wouldnt give a choice to switch back to lte, and it could not connect to service. I had to restore from backup to fix issue. Was this because the boost variant doesnt have the option to switch network modes "out of the box"

Goto Market and download LTE OnOff app. run the program and select CDMA + LTE/EvDo Auto and hit Ping... This should put you back on the LTE network.
Los Angeles 4G is back.
I hope this help.
Are you rooted?? most roms right now have that built into the settings/wireless&networks/radio info
Yes I'm rooted, I have tried the LTE app, but they won't change these settings as they are deeper in the phone, and not Rom based, I changed them to get 3g yesterday when Verizon didn't pay their bill, and lost service, changed rev a to enable, but today changed it back to ahrpd, hit commit, and still only connected to CDMA Rev a, not ahrpd.

I am not sure they have ehrpd running. I have been on settings on ehrpd since they fixed network and when I hit 3G it still says I'm connecting to rev. a
Yea I'm still sitting on rev a, thought it was a phone issue, but its a network thing, Verizon only paid half of their bill, just enough to have basic service without the FEATURES! lol......

what does the ping do?

is there any way to uninstall the "Sprint Zone" APP?

hello
after the OTA update i having serieus problems with "wifi error"
im using cellcom sim card yesterday i cant activated my photon but
can use the wifi.
after i activated the phone the wifi shut down and says error.
i think it must be this stupid app Sprint zone.
i dont use Sprint services at all i dont need them,by theory if i delete this app
will i be able to Call?
this what i was wrote to motorola photon forum admin
got it activated eventualy but dont remmeber how,,
in a matter of fact i have found the problem :
before the activation i was able to connect wifi without any error after doing some changing in network settings
from GSM to ANY CDMA and switching back to GSM and the wifi work'd like a charm.
now after the activation the WIFI getting error.after start up wifi and 4G network activated but few seconds later
after my device is registering the gsm networks the 4g and the wifi cannot enable again
which means that the update is connected to the 4g network and the wifi when it
wont recognise the Sprint network it shuts the 4g network and the wifi as one.
the update caused all thouse problems i hope the info i gave you today will get
to the right place.

Not sure why the Sprint Zone app would cause it to not make calls. Many here have uninstalled it and everything is fine. If you root the phone anything can be uninstalled just make a backup first.
I'm not on Sprint and my Photon got the OTA but I do not have this problem...
Are you sure the OTA caused it?
definitely
before the update everything was as it should be.
I do not have this problem. And my Photon is not activated.
Try this:
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks
1. Set Network Mode to Automatic
2. In Roaming Guards un-check the following under GSM Roaming:
- Call Guard
- Data Guard
- Outgoing SMS
3. Set Select network to Automatic
4. Check Allow GSM Data
I'm not sure that it would make a difference but those are my settings and my Wi-Fi works fine...

no...doesn't work...
I just used root explorer system/app and removed the apk. Otherwise titanium backup will remove it either way you will have to be rooted for these options to work for you.
Did you remove anything else prior to you getting this issue? How did you root your phone? I rooted via the Droid 3 method. If you rooted via the torpedo method, that could be what's causing the issue...

Bypass Activation Verizon Moto E (XT1528) with 5.02

Just picked up a prepaid Verizon Moto E (2nd Gen 4G LTE) to use as a gauge cluster (with an OBD2 Scanner) in my car. I don't plan/need to activate service on it. All I needed was Wi-Fi to activate my google account so I could install Torque Pro. I'm running it in Airplane Mode (with Bluetooth to communicate with the scanner) right now. It tried to activate, timed out and said it would try again when it was restarted. Will running airplane mode prevent it from calling home? It's working perfectly right now so can I leave it as is? Can I simply remove the SIM?
I have read a couple of threads, but not sure if it applies to what I'm wanting to do. This thread was asking this same question but was for a US Cellular version and he was having other issues with it. If there is a way to "turn it off" for good, that would be best. I have no issue with rooting and installing a different ROM if that is the best way to do it.
Thanks in advance.
Remove the SIM. Don't need it at all, not even for initial setup.

After upgrading to 6.0.1 , GPS from Wifi and mobile networks doesn't work!

After I upgraded my s6 edge G925F , this GPS option is not working anymore! On the other hand, "GPS only" feature (satellite) works good. So , when I use GPS and networks option (both), it is exactly like "GPS only" at the moment.
This is clearly a disadvantage because I cannot use the GPS inside buildings ( I have to rely on network for my position instead of satellite).
Any fix for this? Do I really need to factory reset my phone via options? Or it will do more harm than good and totally waste of time?
I am rooted with SpaceX-Kernel_MM_RC2.1_G925F and twrp-3.0.2-0-zerolte recovery installed. I also have installed xposed-v85.1-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160530 .

S7 SM-G930P hotspot functionality gone

After installing a small update of at least 300 mb it seems like I cannot find hotspot anywhere at all. Gone from settings gone from status bar. Tried different hotspot apps but when they redirect me to hotspot settings the page is blanked. Currently I am running android 8.0 sprint and before the update it worked just fine. I need to say that I do not use sprint sim card and other settings works fine i can make calls and use lte just fine so i can say it is a unlocked version. Please advise on what to do.
