(Quick Charge 2.0) CHOETECH 15600mAh 2-Port USB Portable Charger External Battery Power Bank Fast Charger
I got this unit a few weeks ago and the benefits are clearly visible even after this short time of using it.
Let us start with the appearance. It is big and heavy due to the 15600mAh capacity, which keeps on going like an energizer bunny. Can also be used as a weapon. The outside case is well made and has an appealing design. One of the features I like is the LEDs, which displays the battery status while charging or being charged. What really impressed me is the Quick Charge 2.0-Technology. It works exactly like the 2.0 wall chargers in terms of how fast it charges the phone. For example, CHOETECH battery and the 2.0 wall charger both charged my phone in identical time, on the other hand, using the regular 2.1A wall charger and another 2.1A portable battery took roughly 45-60 minutes longer per 50%. The unit itself took 7 hours to charge from 0-100% using the quick charge technology. In comparison, my 12000mAh portable battery takes 12 hours to charge using the same wall charger. One other very useful feature is the ability to charge the unit using either micro USB or Lightning to USB Cable (Apple). If you forget your charging cable, chances are that someone near you has one or the other.
Overall, I highly recommend the CHOETECH QC-2.0 15600mAh 2-Port USB Portable Charger External Battery Power Bank. It does the job very well. The large capacity and multi USB ports allows for fast charging of multiple devices. And once they are charges, there is more than enough juice to charge two more devices.

cool. so for this has been a damn good company. i have their wireless charger (stadium) for the nexus. i use it everyday for almost a year now. not one issue. i even got 2 more after the initial one to put in other rooms of the house.
Could you upload a pic of it next to your nexus 6 for a size comparison please?
Impressive stats, quite the beast!

This is a absolutely great charger. It is very much portable with a sleek, beautiful looking design and the performance is excellent. It has the fast charging feature that charges my S6 edge extremely fast. I take this power bank with me on road trips and it performs at a great rate for my s6, my wife s6 and my lg tablet all at the same time. I will never leave home without it. The battery life on it is great after you charge it fully so it can be used for long periods of time especially since it has that huge amount of battery power. Choetech keep up the spectacular work!!!!!!!

It's a powerful power bank. I am using this power bank from last 1 week, and the best feature I like in it is quick charge 2.0 technology among input and output ports. Their website says that the power bank contains Samsung Battery inside along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. I'm not sure whether it is authentic but it does charge my LG G4 in less than 2 hours and I can juice up the battery of my Smartphone for up to 5 times.
It has been a few more weeks, and I'm really liking the battery. So useful at random times. The best part is that I can change my nexus in no time while charging and using an iPad.
I have this well and it has been outstanding. It can get from 10% to 75% in about an hour. The size allows it to charge my Nexus 4 times from 10% to 100%. Had mine about 2 months and think it's nice to have both a micro USB and a lightning cable to charge it. Fast charge chargers will also fast charge the pack.

Still have the pack? I'd be interested in it.

No matter how much you try to conserve/sip precious battery power, 1 battery wont be enough for most of us power users. Might i suggest you folks invest in something like Samsung's spare battery charger. I scored one on the bay for $30 bones. Amazon stocks them as well. Now i laugh at trying to be a battery miser all day. With this handy accessory, when i leave for work every day i have 2 batteries charged to 100%.
Being able to charge a spare battery, without it being in the phone is much more efficient. Its very compact when folded down and fits in your pocket with ease. Plus the charger doubles as a stand in portrait or landscape mode and is battery case to boot!

Here are some quick pics. If i use the charger that came with the note, i can charge both batteries simultaneously, when the charger is holding the phone in landscape mode. Pretty good deal for less than $30

Got this for $13.50. It was shipped from Korea and its Samsung OEM product. This is really good price.
The only thing is, it does not come with cable how ever, you can use any micro USB cable including the one that came with the phone.

I don't understand what you mean by both batteries. Can it charge the spare battery AND the phone at the same time?

Samsung one for $50 includes the battery - Amazon one with a cheaper price doesn't appear to.

Yes. If you use your existing note's charger, while the note is being held in landscape by the charger, you can charge both batteries simultaneously. As I stated in my first post, buy from Ebay or Amazon for the best price of $30 or less.
Why not use an external portable charger instead?

I eventually gave in and got this as well with the spare 2500mah battery and I must say I am now completely happy since I'm able to carry two batteries when I need to. I leave one in my car while I'm going around and just switch the batteries off when the other dies and I'm nowhere near a charger.

i have the New Trent iCruiser IMP1000 11000mAh which is an external battery charger AND the extra samsung battery charger plus 3 extra 2500mah batters. the thing with an external battery charger is you will be having that thing plugged into your phone for almost 5-6 hours if you are using the phone while charging. as opposed to about 3 hours if its charged from the charger pack. what ill do is swap out dead battery into the samsung charger, plug that charger into my New Trent via USB cable and leave it charging in my backpack. while that ones charging I put my fresh battery into my note. much more efficient. kinda costly but i prefer to have my phone without a leash all day...
so just to make sure...the actual "dock" does not have a charger connector, but you can put it in landscape mode and plug in a charger into the phone, into the wall, while the spare battery sits in its tray being charged by another separate wall charger?
No, yes and yes. You comprehend correctly.
Ok so I think I am gonna get this since an extended battery just seems way too thick for me to be carrying around. My question is, would it be bad to keep the spare battery in the charger all the time when it is not in use? More than likely I am planning to keep it in there and only take it out when traveling or whenever I need the extra juice. I am planning to just leave it plugged and sitting on my computer desk. Would this hurt the battery in anyway?
Leaving the battery in the charger, while plugged into the wall socket will not hurt the battery. Most lithium ion batteries have built in circuitry that stops the battery from charging, after it has reached a full charge.
Any tip/trick/advice?

A CHARGE ONLY cable is necessary to get the full 960mA the phone will accept.

You will be sruprised if you use a current monitor. I only have used "Current Widget". You will be surprised how many chargers and cables charge below 1/2 amp while others charge at almost an amp. You can test all of your chargers and cables this way. For example I have a wall charger with a long cable, with what looks like very small wires, suggesting a low charge, but it actually charges at 1000 ma, much better than some really short cables i have. Also apparently if the data signal is shorted in the cable or in the charger it will tell the phone to charge near an amp.
I also have a charger in my car that has a usb connection that says 1a and 2.1a. The 1 amp charges at almost 1 amp while the 2.1a charges at a 1/2 amp. If you dont use the amp app to see this you would never know and be charging your phone at the slower rate
Just for clarification 1a(amp) = 1000 ma(milliamp), 1/2a = 500 ma

I didnt use a formula. I downloaded the widget from the play store "current widget". I dont think there is anything we do. The only little bug that i know of with it, is it displays for example 9993 ma, when it reall is 999ma. There is no way it could be 10 amps. The numbers might not be right but they appear to relative to different chargers, cables length etc
I've been hearing a lot about these 2 amp chargers charging devices really really fast. I heard them talking about it on the podcast also but I was wondering if they were safe to use with this device? If so I'm gonna purchase a few. I charge my N3 with the original charger (2A/5v) and bought a 2 meter usb cable, its 100% fullly charged in about 1-1,5 hrs i guess.
I have A 4Ah charger but with 4 ports can go as high as 2amps on a single port.
Usually it charges at 1amp.
Intelligent charger so ramps down charge when needed

It looks pretty good!!!!!! but I charge my Note3 with the original charger (2A/5v). Thanks for your post.
The original stock charger 5.3V 2.0A is the fastest, it was made for the note 3, even a 5V 2.0A will be slightly slower.
Do also note that the cable plays an important part in the charging time especially in my case where I'm using a third party cable and charger.
Using the following app, it can show how much current it's currently charging. Here mine, post yours if higher then mine. Can someone post the screenshot using the original samsung usb cable and charger as a reference too?

Just got my Note 3. It charges at 1800mAh on the stock charger (see pic).
It's weird though, because my Galaxy S4 charges at 1900mAh on its stock charger. I assumed that with USB 3.0, the Note 3 would somehow charge at a faster rate.

Thanks for the info. I tried charging with a third party USB3.0 cable and a third party charger and it did reaches to 1800mAh.
Using USB3.0 and USB2.0 cable does make a-bit of difference.
The upcoming Oppo Find 7 have this 4.5A charger that provide a technology call VOOC charging.

You are right. USB 3.0, the latest version of USB (Universal Serial Bus), provides better speed and more efficient power management than USB 2.0. USB 3.0 is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices; however, data transfer speeds are limited to USB 2.0 levels when these devices inter-operate.
From my experience with Sony's charging dock on the Tablet Z, I found that it charged quite slowly as compared to a usb connected charge. I would see an overnight charge which is roughly 8 hours to only charge 30% to 85% whereas a direct usb charge would give a full charge within an hour and a half. Just wondering cause I've ordered the Z2 and hoped that the dock wouldn't be such a bad experience cause I don't want to bother with the flaps unless I have to.
I picked up a generic dock from Amazon. Seems to be 'straight through' connections, so chargers as fast as the charger will allow...

The magnetic charging port is definitely slower but mine still charges in a few hours on the dock next to my bed(not sure how many amps the wall adapter is). In my car it seems about the same off the 2 amp charger(so I assume the other is only 1-1.5 amp) with much heavier drain(bright screen, BT streaming, navigation, etc.).

A lot will depend on the quality of the cable as well. I have the no name dock from amazon and it is slow to charge with the supplied short cable but very quick with the Sony one
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
It depends on the charger and the cable, to charge a 3200 MAH battery for the z2
a minimum 2 amp charger and 38 pin cable is definitely a must !
My magnetic charging port charges at a rate of 1% every 1 1/2 mins, 2 1/2 hours for full charge according to my battery stats which seem about right.

I did the same, but it takes all night to get 80% whereas the direct USB takes a couple of hours to 100%

Ookay... I just connected the Mulitmeter between smartphone and dock (it's a hassle.... Hacked USB cable would be nice....)
The official Sony wallcharger (1.5A) is charging the dock and Smartphone with 800-850mA.
I tried Doomkernels Fastcharge and forced constant AC =roughly 1300mA.
Strangly when I set it to 1500 or 2000 in Faux app it falls back to 800mA.
The battery was 85% charged when I made those tests.

Yeah,,,, so.... i made a reallife test!
Set FauxApp to "Constant AC" in FastCharge options.
in 5 hours it charged 16% xD 3.2% Per hour.
Then after that i set to "Custom" 1200mA
Charged from 76% to 100% in 3.5hours
tonight i'm trying to empty the phone (Unreal Epic Citadel might be a good idea, or maybe GFXbenchmark Battery Test....) and set to Custom 1500mAh and see what happens.

Quick charge 2.0 does only use 9V sporadically doesn't it ?

I got one for my Idol 3. It works just fine...HOWEVER:
1) It is a slow charge vs. the USB cable (2-3 times slower).
2) Heats up the battery pretty quickly and gets pretty hot
3) Really inconvenient if you only have one wireless charging station and have to charge in the car or something
4) Tore mine because it was flimsy and I needed to charge using a cable (see #3).
Over all recommendation, yes, get it, it's fun to have wireless charging. BUT if you're going to be removing the plug everyday and switch between wireless charging and USB cable, be forewarned of what could happen.

1) It is a slow charge vs. the USB cable (2-3 times slower).

Personally I feel the USB cable, with the included wall adapter, is STILL an extremely slow charge. That's one thing I dislike about this phone. The battery seems to take forever to charge just 5%. My phone was at about 60% one day and I decided to plug it in and went under battery and it said 4 more hours until full charge. 4 hours to charge just 40%? I wish Alcatel added the Quick Charge feature since the Snapdragon 615 it uses is capable of doing so.
Mine charges from about 25% to 100% in about 2 hours using included wall adapter with Dollar Tree USB cable (longer).
4 hours? That's a really long time. I charge mine using a sorts of chargers laying around and from nearly depleted to full, maybe 2.5hours max. :-/
The quality of your USB cable will affect the charge time. Cheaper cables contain less copper. I just replaced my ebay cables with branded, and the charge time for all my devices is much improved. The new cables were still under 2 GBP.
Thanks for the replies. I'm using a 6' charging cable from a brand called Xtreme bought at FiveBelow. Guess I'll start searching for a Samsung one or something.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I am using a USB cable from Dollar Tree. Can't get much cheaper than that. It charges just fine, from 25% to 100% is about 2 hours. The original cable that came with the Idol was not faster and it was too short for my use.
Charging cable deal five for $5.49

Your connector must be damaged, mine charges 1% per minute until it starts it's trickle charge cycle around 80%.

Actually it was just my charging cable that was the problem. I bought a new Anker charger and it charges the phone 10 times faster now. Really relieved that it wasn't something with the phone itself.

daft question maybe - will it still fit in a case?

Fairly certain you'll need a case to be able to use it since there's no removable back on the Idol 3 so you'll need a case to hold it in place between the phone.
