Hi guys!
My a116 is dead and the screen wont come on at all even if i put it for charge.
I cant be sure if it is a battery problem because whenever i take out the battery and put it in again the flash light comes on for a second but whenever i connect the phone to my laptop , my laptop makes the noise that it always does when you connect a device
Please help me out if anyone here knows what to do
Moreover if there is no way then is there a way to backup my phone apps and data on the internal memory? there should be a way i guess if the phone is being detected by the laptop.
Its important data. And if it helps my phone is rooted and has cwm and was running superluminaldad rom.
Ur phone is not with batt to do. Batt dies if u unplug it (lets say it says 100% battery, when u unplug, in seconds it shuts, down, this is a battery issue).
Another battery issue is rare so ill pass that because its unlikely it would happen.
You do might have your phones screen fked up. I do believe your screen cable popped out from connector.
If ur phones sim card isnt locked, try plug phone to charger (wall output) and boot it. Then let it boot and wait 3 minutes or 5 or more but not less than 3 minutes for a clear result.
Now, call your phone with another phone and see if it vibrates, or comes sound (i hope u didnt switch it to silent mode).
Come back with results after you are done.

Ok so i tried what you said but unfortunately it is not working, even the led light doesnt light up when connected to the wall output.
Im whacking my brains over someway to back up the apps and data even if the phone doesnt come up.

So the phone vibrates when u try to turn on?
How about screen getting slightly a bit of light?
Anywho, if you got root and enabled adb, you can pull all your files from your phone from recovery where you switch to adb mode.
This is the only possible way i know which did work for me.
Other than that, im sorry.

I went into clockwork recovery to flash the new bionix -v rom so i took the steps selected it in boot up it installed and i went back out and selected reboot now.
SO then like the moron that i am it didnt reboot right away so i waited about 30 seconds nothing came on. So took the battery out and put it back in. now it wont even turn on. ive even tried my jig with wont come on at all is it screwed. please tell me its not...
Go to the Bible and read up. I am guessing you probably need to use a usb cord plugged into the phone hold down the volume and start buttons then plug into the computer (make sure you already got Odin up)... that may be the way to get it to respond then odin back to JFD stock.
READ THE BIBLE this is in there somewhere it is the best source.

Did you come from a voodoo enabled ROM?
WHY did you do this?! It's stated so clear that it takes a long time on first boot, and you wait 30 seconds? My phone doesn't even boot normally (not off a fresh install) in 30 seconds. I've never had to use download mode, but I hear it can be pretty tricky so try all the methods you find many times to make sure it in fact doesn't work. But you'll definitely have to ODIN it looks like. Or you could go to T-Mobile and say you tried to use the 2.2 update from Samsung and it bonked your phone and see how sympathetic they are.
I think he means the screen was completely black for 30 seconds after he hit reboot. Bad sbl flash and hard brick most likely.
Happened to me when I tried to flash Nero for the first time. After a bit of tinkering I was able to Odin back to stock an then I just reflashed. Haven't had a problem since.
Make sure to disable voodoo.

I guarantee it wasn't from a lack of patience. He could have waited all year and nothing would have happened. The phone was already dead. Same **** happened to me.

Could you be a little clearer with these directions I would certainly be willing to try this method. However, since this has happened leaving the phone on the charger for anything over ten minutes it becomes pretty hot. Not that it really matters, I don't think the phone could be any more borked at this point.

Just to be clear. Your phone was 100% dead and non responsive? No boot screen, no lights, no battery icon when plugged in, no beeps, no vibrations, absolutely nothing?
yes sir and actually when u plu ur phone back in and keep holding power putton like u want to turn it on watch the screen closly , closely ....u will see ur screen works ! but no pic it turns back black just like it wouldnt work at all but u can spot the difference , trust me
I had Infinity Rom on it
It died the other night, and it's not the battery Im sure of it. I cant get it into and Recovery modes or Download mode, well I haven't tried Download mode I don't know how to.
If anyone can help me fix this with all the links necessary to fix it I would be so happy. I am very sad right now .
Thanks
So you can power up and boot into recovery? I assume clockworkmod? If you use just the power button to turn it on what do you get?

I get nothing. Like the phone is completely dead.
could be hardware failure... You can try this..
Pull the battery out then reinstall (do not try to turn on)
plug in the phone overnight
then in the morning, try to turn on while still plugged in and see if it starts.
If not, you may have to bring it to verizon
That is a good idea, when you plug it in does it appear to take a charge?
yea pull the battery for a t least a minute. pop it back in, and plug it into a known working charger. wait a few minutes, when the battery is VERY dead, the charge light won't even come on. after about one minute, it'll start blinking. after it is done blinking and turns solid orange, you may boot the phone.
if you do not get a blinking or solid orange LED after 5 minutes, you indeed have a dead phone. I would go to verizon and try to pass it off as a bad battery, and ask if they can get a working battery to test. if it still fails to boot, then you will know.
i have yet to find a verizon tech willing to dig deeper on a non booting or boot looping phone to see if it was modded, usually playing dumb makes you seem less suspicious and incapable of modding. going in and saying "it was fine and running fast on a custom rom/kernel" is a dead giveaway for a warranty denial!
hi my htc amaze 4g tmobil wont boot unless connected to usb (charging). my phone was rooted using Hasson tool. everything was working fine. i left bootloader unlocked.
here is what happen. my phone took a dive into a soup . i left it for a few days , then i try to turn it on. it looked as if it was on a boot loop. after reading on the internet they advice forfactory reset. after playing with my phone for a few days this is want happends
at the beginning it was on boot loop .then i connected to computer and when i reboot it it reboot back to boot loader.
i locked boot loader and my phone was able to boot normally, it works im able to make and receive calls. but when i remove it from charging it shuts down. if phone is not connected to usb (charging) it stays in boot loop. i already try 2 different batteries. and batteries take charge. i was looking on the forums for similar problems and i found this is a different phone but problems is the same, i dont really understand the solution but i hope will help some1 give some advice .

He didn't mean the battery got shorted out, he meant that the PHONE may have shorted out. I think you need to send it in to HTC for repair. It most likely needs a new motherboard. It's really hard on electronics when they get immersed in liquid.

WAs going to charge the phone this morning and put it in the charger and fixed breakfast for about 10 min.
Went back to the phone and the screen was black and the led light is shining green. And now i cant manage to turn the screen on Any ideas?
The led light is on even when the charger is plugged out i cant get the screen on, neither recovery or download mode
press volume down and power until you get a response from screen, then release power and keep pressing volume down. It will boot into safemode. You can try to figure out what went wrong from there or just reboot the phone

I'm gonna let the phone rest this night and then try starting tomorrow and put it in the charger again.. Really hate that you can't open the phone like the old s4
So I have phone that won't start.. Any idea what to use it for?
Is it impossible to access the internal memory?

Not unless you know what part is defective and how to unsoulder memory chip and have a machine that can read it. Why dont you just send it for warranty?

Hey guys, I just did an update last night, the update was around 330mb, then I drained my phone completely, charged it, then fell asleep, when i woke up, I removed the charger, and the phone won't turn on. Tried pressing all 4 buttons, tried going to recovery, safe mode, and every other combination of buttons, but the phone won't turn on or even go to the samsung logo or blink or anything. Even if I connect it to the laptop, nothing happens. Screen is off, but even when it is not attached to anything, the phone is hot. Which means it is technically on? I'm thinking of letting it drain til it runs out of battery then recharge it?
Anyone? I tried all combinations, nothing makes it work, not even make the led blink, no vibration. Also, i tried charging it for a few hours, it just gets warm but no charging icon or anything.

I'll try later. I still don't have odin. But that would probably be my last resort. I don't want to lose all my stuff.
Bu the way, my phone is all stock, no root.
OK so I kept the phone charging and now I tried turning it on, nothing, but the blue LED came on.
Now the blue light is off again.
Trya computer to see if it is recognized. If so, just copy your entire folder from your phone, try to Odin, then if successful copy over your files

I have never connected it to my laptop before so it may not have the drivers? But the laptop does not read it. Kies does not see it. Tried that. It doesn't work. Oh and now that i tried charging with a wireless charger and still same thing, i guess i can safely conclude it's not the port. Maybe i need to try a charger with higher amps to try and wake it up?
Is it possible that the update does not allow the use of chargers that or not originally for the unit? And i used a samsung slow charger that night after the update, so the whole night the phone tried blocking the current and ended up frying the diode/resistor? Or maybe since i drained it to 0% it went to deep deep sleep?

I think it didn't show anything when i did. I will check again later.
Is it possible that after the update, when i charged it didn't accept the charger so the battery got drained fully and now it can't charge? A technician said the battery needs to be "shocked" but they don't have the equipment to take off the back to get to the battery. Any thoughts on that?
Would it help if i charge it using a 3.4A charger for a few hours? Maybe that will wake up the battery? Technicians say that because it got to 0% it might have been fully drained and unable to recharge, what they usually do is direct charge a battery but in the case of the s6 edge it's not that easy to do since you have to take it apart...

Official samsung charger should be enough to get it charging and working. Service centre sounds best option
