Hi,
So, today I took up the phone from my pocket(as usual) when I noticed the screen wasn't turning on.
I've been using all day without issue and I haven't dropped it or anything, still it wouldn't wake up or show any life signs.
I've tried all the button combos I can think of and holding them for long periods of time. I've also tried having it connected to the charger for a few hours but it does not change in temperature so I'm pretty sure it's not taking up any charge.
Is there anything more I can try before sending it to Samsung for repairs? Doing that is a bit of a hassle since I moved from Europe to the US recently.
Thanks on beforehand!

Try another charger... and try hooking USB to a computer and try again..did have a nexus that did this once. ..it worked with the computer

Mine did that once. You have to hold all four buttons together pressing at the same time. Power, home, volume up and down and it will come back to life.

I've tried that :/ for how long did you do it?
To me it seems like the battery is not connected anymore and that it needs to be reconnected inside, since it does not even take charge.

I did that for about 10 seconds. Mine didn't turn on when connected to charger or a computer but it did get hot like it was charging.

I have this issue before
just use smart switch and make emergency recovery software
There is no connected device to do that with unfortunately.

Ok so I got in my car one day, checked my phone.. about 50% charge. I plugged it in to the car charger by habit. The screen turned off, so i thought it was just the display timer. But when I realized my settings are for it NOT to turn off while charging I pressed the power button...no response. In fact, there was no charging light! So ive tried different chargers, usb, everything even holding the power button down for 10secs-2 minutes and no response! This is the first time I've actually had a phone without insurance or sprint's replacement thingy (yes now ive learned my lesson). I cant send it in to HTC because my screen cracked (1st lesson) which voids the warranty. Ive just opened it and replaced the battery thinking that's the problem but apparently not.
Now that my rant is over, does anyone have an idea, solution and/or fix for this? and I've attached pics of some concerning dark spots on the connections. Is that normal or could the charger have burned up the connection(s). Do i need a new phone or can just the port/connections be replaced? I am LOST without my phone lol

my phone does same, 100% battery. next thing i know it won't turn on (power on) no matter how long i hold power button.
not even showing charge light, believe it's hard bricked.
send in to be fixed for $60, not sure if it can be .
Plug it into its wall charger and leave it alone for 6-8 hours. Its happened to others before.
That may fix it. some think its a super deep sleep or something.

Hi,
Have you tried holding down volume up+volume down+power at the same time for a while? That usually resets the phone and you can get back into recovery. Worth a shot. I hope you get it fixed brother.

this might be my only other option at this point. thanks.
Went to restart the phone and now it appears to be completely dead. Won't switch on, and is completely unresponsive to any input: usb, hard reset switch, power etc. I have plugged in the phone to a computer as well and there is no "usb detected" on screen or anything. Is it reasonable to assume that this phone is fully bricked?
Did you try th red boton near the SIM card?

Try holding the power button for an extended time period. You can also do a ftf stock firmware.

Holding the button for over a minute does nothing, and the phone is simply not detected by any computer I plug it into. The orange LED doesn't even come on when I plug it into a charger :/
Possible that the battery went completely flat? Try plugging it into an AC wall charger for at least 6 hours and see if anything happens.

My wife's Z went dead during an update via PC Companion (light went out), and it didn't boot or show any life sign.
I used the Sony PC Service (only for PC), restored the phone to the original FW and all went well, nothing was deleted from it. Try it and see...

Hi guys!
My a116 is dead and the screen wont come on at all even if i put it for charge.
I cant be sure if it is a battery problem because whenever i take out the battery and put it in again the flash light comes on for a second but whenever i connect the phone to my laptop , my laptop makes the noise that it always does when you connect a device
Please help me out if anyone here knows what to do
Moreover if there is no way then is there a way to backup my phone apps and data on the internal memory? there should be a way i guess if the phone is being detected by the laptop.
Its important data. And if it helps my phone is rooted and has cwm and was running superluminaldad rom.
Ur phone is not with batt to do. Batt dies if u unplug it (lets say it says 100% battery, when u unplug, in seconds it shuts, down, this is a battery issue).
Another battery issue is rare so ill pass that because its unlikely it would happen.
You do might have your phones screen fked up. I do believe your screen cable popped out from connector.
If ur phones sim card isnt locked, try plug phone to charger (wall output) and boot it. Then let it boot and wait 3 minutes or 5 or more but not less than 3 minutes for a clear result.
Now, call your phone with another phone and see if it vibrates, or comes sound (i hope u didnt switch it to silent mode).
Come back with results after you are done.

So the phone vibrates when u try to turn on?
How about screen getting slightly a bit of light?
Anywho, if you got root and enabled adb, you can pull all your files from your phone from recovery where you switch to adb mode.
This is the only possible way i know which did work for me.
Other than that, im sorry.

How do i pull files through adb? i have root and i am sure usb debugging was on
Hello,
Can somebody assist me with a problem I have with a friend's Sony Z2. I'm not very familiar with this phone and I have an issue with one.
It had the screen replaced because it was broken and before putting the last screw I turned it on to see if it works. I needed to put on charge because the battery was 1%. It worked perfectlyand then I disconnected it from charge, removed the battery flex cable to mount the phone back and when I finished it, I tried to turn on, but unsuccesfully.
All it does now is, every time I push the power button, the notification light is blinking red 3 times. Nothing more. If I keep Power and volume up is doing nothing, unless I put it on charge (on charge and power+volume up is vibrate 3 times too). I have nothing on screen. Reset button (the one inside SIM slot) makes the phone vibrate 3 times. The pc detects the phone 1-3 seconds and then nothing, I don't see it in my device management. I tried with another battery and same issues.
Any idea how to fix it ?
Thank you.
let it charge for 10 -20 mins
if not check battery flex
i feel its battery low or not connected proper

Thanks for the answer mate.
It was 2 nights on charge and still nothing. Also the notification light remains red while charging ? It shouldn't turn green when the charge is complete
Did you check flex?

The flex comes with the battery. Since I tried a new battery, I guess isn't the flex cable.
Sadly that's all I can say

Searched around and there doesn't seem to be a fix? Not sure. Anyway, here are the details:
- Rogers, NOT rooted, running the latest update (6.0 I think?). Was working fine all day yesterday. Turned it off last night before bed, and plugged it in.
This morning, it wouldn't power on. No button combination to get to recovery / download mode is working. I've tried multiple cables with no luck. One thing that DOES work - is wireless charging. The phone doesn't react as if it's charging (no LED, screen doesn't activate), but the wireless charger reacts as if it is charging, and the phone gets warm as normal.
Any ideas?

Hold power and down for 20 seconds does it boot to safe mode?
Nope, doesn't power on in any form.

No, the led doesn't light up at all. The wireless charger does respond though - and the battery seems to heat up on the phone. But no other indication that the phone is charging.

Do you still have warranty? If yes, get it exchanged. If not, maybe try to open the back, unplug the battery and look for any sign of damage or burn. Maybe try plugging it in without the battery or go to a repair shop that can do that for you. Seems like you already tried all other things, that came to my mind.

Try to do the download mode combination vol down + home + power for 20 seconds. Then press vol up then plug into odin. See if it picks it up? It could be just dead screen/board
Thanks both for the replies! Yeah, the phone is out of warranty (bought it July 2015...grr). I haven't tried loading it with Odin - I will try that soon. I ended up getting a new phone so at least I'm not without a device, but if I can get the S6 repaired then at least I can sell it to recover some lost dollars. Thanks!!
