Sorry if this has been answered before, I did do a few searches before posting though.
I know the google account associated with this phone, as well as the correct password (I use it daily so I'm 100% sure of the password)
I have forgotten my unlock pattern (the one you draw on the 3x3 grid).
I'd like to unlock the phone, but it doesn't remember any wifi passwords, I cant figure out how to make it connect to wifi. I also don't have a compatible SIM card, that I know of.
Is there a way to back up the phone to an SD/Computer without logging in, before resetting it? I'd just like to access the old pictures, but if my only option is a factory reset I can accept that.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Greetings,
Yesterday a friend of mine tried to unlock my other friend's Evo 3D, which was secured by a lockscreen pattern.
He managed to fail too often and now it needs to be reset via the Google-Account.
You can still access camera and can be called, but she cannot access any other feature, including opening the status bar.
Unfortunately, the unlock does not work. After entering username/password it says "Invalid username or password" (in German)
She is absolutely sure, that the Google Account she entered is the one she was using on that phone.
Also, she reset her Google password after that happened because she wasn't too sure about the old password. So I guess the phone somehow needs to connect to the internet to know about the current password (otherwise she needs to use the old password, right?)
She can log in on Google and access the Play Store on her Notebook though, but somehow no Apps show up on there.
I can access the Bootloader, but when trying to enter Recovery the phone displays an image of a phone icon with a red warning triangle with a exclamation mark in it (see attachment)
The phone then doesn't reply to any input, so I have to take out the battery and reinsert it.
USB debugging is not activated, so I guess any way over adb doesn't work?
My question here is: Are there any ways to restoring the phone without losing her contacts, messages etc.?
If not I think a factory reset from the bootloader at least would get her phone working again.
Thanks in advance!
I heard Samsung phones compare the Google username and password with the Google-Account on the device, that way the phone doesn't need an internet connection for verification. This also means the new Google password will not work - it must be the old one! I guess HTC does the same, so keep that in mind.
Perhaps you also need to enter the EXACT same username. The google account creation on android accepts "username", "[email protected]", "[email protected]". So maybe the phone is registered for "[email protected]" but you only enter "user" in the username field?
I hope this helps!

She already tried using the old password (and others) and is always using her full accountname ([email protected]), and it still doesn't work :/ thanks for the response, though!
Any other tips?
Edit: Turns out she was using a wrong account... now she's got the right one, where her Apps show up on Play Store on her laptop.
Unfortunately, it still won't work. She has never changed her password on that account.
Edit 2: She did a factory reset now, because she didn't want to wait anymore. So I guess this can be closed, thanks for the help though!
I think i already know the answer to this, but this is a last resort....
A co-worker brought me his son's (Sprint) Evo 4G LTE because his son inadvertently locked himself out of the phone. When you unlock the screen you are presented with a gmail account login screen that states "Too Many Pattern Attempts".
I have looked into this, and tried a few things but so far have been unsuccessful. It isn't really a problem to do a factory reset EXCEPT the kid has quite a few pictures he's taken on the phone and doesn't want to lose them. I read on the HTC website that you can factory reset without losing data on internal storage by selecting the right settings, but it is not specific when it comes to doing a reset from the recovery menu (or hboot menu... I'm very rusty on all this). I am assuming that this reset will in fact erase internal storage?
I can't access it via ADB, as I'm sure debugging would never have been selected, I have tried calling the phone and tried pulling down notification bar, getting into contacts, etc.... but everything takes me back to the login screen. My friend set up the account for his son, but can't remember what the user ID is that he created. I tried everything I could think of based on the possibilities he gave me, but no luck.
The devices drive shows up under Computer, but since the device is locked, clicking on it prompts me to insert disk into drive.
Does anyone know of any kind of "hack" that would either get me into the device or allow me to get the pictures from internal storage?
*Never mind - Problem Solved*
I didn't realize you could receive a phone call to get the code to find your username on gmail. I was able to retrieve the username this way (obviously couldn't get sms). For some reason google only sends SMS, no phone call, for password recovery, which I don't understand.... Anyway, my co-worker was finally able to figure which password was used once I got the username.
Thanks anyway.
Hi Guys,
As the title is suggesting, my phone has been locked and the only way left to get in to the phone and access my data is using my google account credentials.
I was at a public place and needed to charge my phone so i turned off the data and wifi and set up a pin lock. So later when the phone was charged i tried to unlock it but i seemed to have forgotten the pin. while doing it multiple times i ran out of attempts to be able to unlock the phone using pin. So the only shot i was left with was using my google account info. when i try putting the google info, they show invalid even though i put the correct credentials.
And again my wifi and mobile data are off so even the android device manager doesnt seem to be a way to go.
I tried calling the LG customer service to see if they can help, i explained them the situation and told them i needed my data to stay but the only choice they offered me was a pin that would unlock the phone but also erase everything in it.
Also, I do not have my bootloader unlocked. or anything of that sort.
I will appreciate if anyone can help me getting back into the phone or even helps me to be able to recover the data that i have in the phone. Thank you.
Trying to get into an old HTC Thunderbolt of mine. I cannot remember my pin screen password. Don’t think I have the option to connect to WiFi and I don’t have the right SIM for it anymore so I can’t login in with my Google credentials.
I am unsure how I can unlock the phone without wiping it. Was hoping to get some old pics and music off of it. Been meaning to forever but now kind of need one of the pics.
Any ideas?
I'm posting this in a bunch of different places just in case someone has an answer for me:
I'm so frustrated. I set some stupid new pattern passcode on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7) yesterday because I wanted to try it out and see how it worked. It was a method where you swipe on the screen in a series of directions to unlock it. Now I've either forgotten it or it's not working and I only have two attempts left before my phone automatically erases all data on itself. I cannot do a factory reset and lose all of my data, that's just not an option for me. I've tried unlocking it with "Ok Google" which I do have enabled on my phone, but it didn't work. I've tried going to device manager in my google account and locking the phone but it won't override the password I already have on my phone so that doesn't work. Apparently my device wasn't registered in my Samsung account so Samsung can't remotely unlock my device. Verizon (my service provider) won't help me. The link that people online say should appear after too many attempts that lets me sign into my phone using the Google Account that it's linked to won't appear. The information that I've found online about how to "hack" my phone doesn't make any sense to me and requires me to download or already have installed all sorts of suspicious looking files/programs that I'm not willing to install onto neither my phone nor my computer. I'm just at a loss and really frustrated. What could be wrong? How do I fix this? Who can help me?
Check this , maybe it will works for you .

You might be out of luck. You won't lose any files just apps and settings if you factory reset.
This is why no one uses pattern unlock any more. Too many things that can go wrong.
