well you can read all the features it has all the hotplugs, governors. and tweaks. if you using stock try and see for yourself, not everyone is the same so yu make like it o dont.
eehhg.. 7.8 as of now.
check this post for last update. whats been merge into kernel still a beta stage.

I had 2 G2 one with stock kernel and other with dorimanx kernel (default settings) both on stock ROM and compared the two side by side. Stock kernel was much faster and did not show signs of lagg like dorimanx did.
I tested the kernels in real life testing, that matters more than the number of commits
Just sharing my experiences, nothing else.

Dorimanx usually gives better battery so it must come at a cost of performance...lots of people love dorimanx kernel but my experience was kinda like yours...had lags where i didnt have with the stock kernel or furnace kernel(on kitkat). No disrespect, he is a great dev though

Paoulo vs Fransico vs Fserve vs Rome kernel [.35 Kernel]

Can you guys tell me the Pros and Cons of Paoulo, Francisco, Fserve [.35 Kernel] in comparison to one another? Like what does it lacks and what does it have, how r they different. And which is the best kernel for adfads N2 CM7 ROM according to you? Also I tried goggling for Paoulo's kernel and Rome kernel but couldn't find them. It maybe cause I don't understand Italian. So can you also tell me exactly how to get them?
Paolo - the great thing about it is the touchfix which is very good and not bad for scrolling, so good for gaming use.
Franco - the latest one is best for gaming use, but its not smooth. If you talk about previous versions, its have the best performance/battery life ratio.
Fserve - currently still in development, so we can't judge it yet.

Theres Rome kernel too, that is based on Paolo but with some improvements.
But Rome has some wakelocks during and after use wi-fi.

Yes, it drains a lot of battery in WiFi. I'm using the 1.3.3 BFS V-Sync OFF with Oxygen 2.3.2 and the phone is really fast and smooth! No lag in 3D games, and without WiFi, the battery life is awesome (Governor LighassV2 OC 245/729)! Another bug that i found : doesn't work USB MASS but i don't know if is a rom related bug or kernel related but...BTW, fastest combination ever imho
Franco's kernel hands down. Paolo's (and possibly Rome's) kernel is just a ripoff from franco's kernel.
I hope fserve will eventually pick up franco's sources and improve it further.

Sounds good so that's why u ask me for my kernel?
Don't forgrt to add support to andy clear cache option also check cyanogenmod our chip source by rmce.

For me, Paolo and Rome had blacks screen bug which was too annoying so went back to Franco.

WTF? Paolos .35 kernel come out first, with oc, camera flicker fix and wifi tethering fixed (came out broken on lg sources) so is very idiotic to say that is a rip off, I know that because i tested both kernels as soon they come out in that time.
Imho Paolo's kernel is way more stable than Franco's

Oh , thanks for explaining and sharing, i didn't know that Cyanogenmod have this kernel source
Franco himself didn't say Paolo stole from him.
And
I don't respect Zack very much as he did not release any source code and thus violating GPL, and i remembered he himself said there is no reason to release source code, which I think it is idiotic. Also, most of his supposed 'patches' mostly came from franco(franco supposedly said had the same patches in his kernels for multiple devices).

Yea, I think Zack is a selfish people. But we can't force him to release his kernel source code...
BTW: How do you know that he used franco patches?
I flash the Rome 1.3.3 kernel yesterday on Cyanogen 7.2 N1, the performace is great, no blackscreen bug until now.
But the battery is not so good as franco kernel (12% in 3h, I need to wait until the end of day to see better and examine Better Battery Status).
So for now I recomend Rome if you don't care so much about battery.

ROM speed

Is it the kernel or the ROM that makes each firmware fast
Sent from a stolen iPhone..
combination as speed combines from a combination of files from both in the kernal and firmware.

its the Kernel which makes the Diff in speed, if its supported by the Rom then the speed will be Amazing!!
Get a rom/kernel with a red theme. Everyone knows red's the fastest colour.
I think that MistahBungle is trolling... haha XD but I will search for a red one anyway thanks =)
In all seriousness, the 'speed' of the phone performing a particular task at any given moment is dependent on so many variables. The rom, the kernel, how well written (or not) the app you're using is. How your phone is setup.
Best thing to do is experiment with different roms/kernels, governors, cpu settings, etc. What works for me won't necessarily work for you & VV.

Best Jelly Bean Rom?

Hey guys, i want to move on from ICS to JB, I have seen that the flykernel is a pretty good one... Which rom is the best in terms of:
1. Battery life
2. Performance
3. Stable
Thanks a lot for your future tips or recommendations.

Try CyanogenMod 10. Its stable, fast and almost everything working except front camera (It will work in future update)
you can also try p.a.c.

Completely does, at least on my phone.
Ill try Pac, I hope everything is working there fine
My phone too. PAC is great but I can't get great battery life from it. Not disastrous life just a lot faster drain than the best ICS builds. Don't think it copes with the widgets i use.

Not a commercial(or maybe it is), but try my Nyandroid AOSP Jally Bean, it's the only fully AOSP rom out there and it has fixed front camera (in release 3 wich is uploading ATM), and it is clean and pure AOSP.

How can you compare when one is a kernel and another is a rom?
IMO, PAC rom is the best. You get the best support on the thread, with every two weeks (more or less) updates and currently dev is building 4.2 roms. Have a go at it ^^

p.a.c. and cm10 is rom that i suggest to use with flykernel v0.5a(jb)..for flykernel v.8 it support most ics rom..
first of all wrong section to post, there is a general or a q&a section but there is no such thing of best rom, best rom for me will prbably not suit you, and will be worse for you, and saying one is better than other is not ok for developers, try them all and choose the one you like more

cm 10.1 kernals

Hello. So I recently flashed the latest cm10.1 nightly for some fun and I'm actually really impressed by it. But what would make this rom even more superb is if I could use etweaks.. which brings me to my question: is there any compatible kernel to install with this ROM? I tried the latest siyah kernel and it didn't work for crap.
No.

That is not accurate
Siyah-i777 v7.0 works fine on all CM10.1 based ROM's.
It is now posted in the Dev section.

What about an off one like dream, fluxx or something? any luck with them? Cause Siyah just goes hella choppy slow. like 1/8th of normal speed really.

There's no chance that you've tried Siyah-i777 v7.0 - I just uploaded it like an hour ago. This is the first version that has CM10.1 support.
It is not choppy at all..... performance is actually VERY good.
You really should at least look at the version numbers before saying something is choppy or other bad feedback that is not deserved at all.

Siyah vs. Boeffla

Hi Guys,
I know we all hate the "What is the best..." threads. But after searching for answers on Siyah and Boeffla, I still can't make a decision on which kernel to use. I've previously used Siyah but recently I've seen a lot of power users start jumping ship to Boeffla. I'd like to get some feedback on folks who've used both kernels and the reason why they prefer one over another. What are the pros and cons of both kernels?
Thanks guys!

Siyah the best kernel so far. I tried everyone and afterwards i was back to Siyah, and STweaks just godlike. Boefla freezes my phone after 30min of using.

I thought Boeffla was meant to be a stable kernel without overclocking. Is it the kernel for sure?
Thread closed. The best way to find out what works best for you is to try them. What works best for someone else might not work best fior you.
