Screen distortion when pressed - Normal? - Nexus 9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got a nexus 9 tablet. I noticed on first boot, when I pressed on the screen, the LCD would distort a bit. Doesn't seem very noticeable on light backgrounds, but on a dark background (like when the tablet is booting) it is super obvious. Do other people have this as well? I have attached a video of the problem.
Nexus 9 Screen Problem Dropbox

I didnt see it on mine but i know that with iPad Air 2 its common problem because tablet is so thin and if you press finger stronger on back cover screen will have disortions

[Q] Lightbleed Problem

Hi everyone,
Finally got my brand new phone from Walmart Wireless in the mail yesterday. Got a heck of a deal during Thanksgiving. The only problem is that this phone has some light bleed at the bottom right hand corner along with 2 small specks which I thoght was dirt but is probably dead pixels. The dead pixels can only been seen on a black screen for some reason and doesn't show up when the screen is red, blue or green. The phone isn't even activiated it and I'm debating whether I should return this or just live with it. What do you all think? To be honest, the screen is so bright on this phone, the only time I can tell that there is a defect is when it's on 100% brightness against a black screen. I'm just worried that my replacement could be worse? What is everyone else seeing?

Yes, it seems that there is screen bleed along the bottom edge of the screen. Which I can deal with, but alongside the right hand side, I find it a little annoying when watching movies in the dark. Anyways, they're sending out another one to me and I guess I'll keep the better of the two...

Case cracking

Does anyone experience something like (I don't really know how to name it) case squeeking or cracking while pushing it a little harder? Only in one place, near the speaker, left down corner.
Same for me, been so from the first day.

Did you do something about it? I mean is it something that can harm the phone in some time?
I've just checked and noticed something like that. When I press harder my phone body in left corner near to speaker it sounds "crack crack". I'm going to send an email to the service

On my 64gb version as well. Id say it exists on all Honor 7 phones. Im not too bothered though.
No issue on mine... How hard are you pushing?
Well, i grabb bottom of the phone between thumb and pointing finger and just press. Not hard. And then it cracks

Poll on affected vs unaffected screens **No Discussion - just a poll**

Please indicate on the poll if have been affected by the green tint issuse and which type of screen you have - Use the Device Info HW app
There is already a discussion open, so this is purely for a poll and then post Screen brand / Production number / days when you noticed
Eg. LG 18-10-51 Noticed after 4 days
Hopefully we can start to get a picture of production numbers that are unaffected and if BOE is better than LG
LG Screen 18-10-51 noticed within 48 hours of medium use

Gave it back to 1and1 for changing the phone.

Outline of the fingerprint scamner on the AOD

It would be nice if there would be an option to set the outline of the fingerprint permanently on the AOD to know where to put the finger even with the screen off because it's a weak solution to first wake up the display and then put your finger on it. Any one has a solution ? Sorry for my bad English I'm from Poland

There's an option close to what you're asking for, but it's not quite permanent. Go into settings and into fingerprints. There's an option called "Show icon when screen is off". This makes the finger guide appear on the AOD also but it won't stay permanently. But you should check it out nonetheless.
I have this but still u need to do 2 taps to perfectly fit the scanner there should be an option to turn this on permanently like f.e. clock

it will probably come with AOD update.
This would most certaintly create screen-in, right??

Yup! It would definitely cause screen burn-in. The AOD clock actually can move around a bit (even if it's very subtle), but you wouldn't want the icon of the fingerprint sensor to do that as it would defeat the purpose of lining up with the sensor
The guiding circle could move a few pixels to the sides and we wouldn't notice, we are not that exact when placing the finger, I believe something like the previous S lines had for the force touch button on the AOD would be great.
What about a lock screen wallpaper?

This is exactly what I was thinking as well. Tbh, once you get used to the placement after a few weeks we won't even need any indication of where the fingerprint sensor is.
Yeah. I think we all have to be patient with this phone. Like the iPhone X, it marks a fairly significant change overall for a Samsung device, and it'll take some getting used to. Remember all the reports of how bad Face ID was working on launch?

The circle doesn't have to move at all. It could just grow bigger or smaller as long as the center of the circle is the center of the FPS.

i could just be like a small dot or circle that stays where the center of the sensor is. then it can move around slightly like the clock and date do to prevent burn in but still be always somewhat in the center of the fp sensor.
