Hi
Im currently using AOKP (kitkat) and i think its time for an upgrade...are there any stable and good marshmalow ROMs or should i stick with kitkat
And i know i should probably know the next question but here it is:
What do i do to flash a new rom....do i just reguraly flash it using recovery app or.....?
And what is a good way to backup and/or sync my data so that i will get my apps back as soon as i turn on the Wifi
Tnx 'n' have a good day
No-one will recommend roms. Its personal preference.
If you want a marshmallow rom it would be best to buy a faster, newer phone. The I9300 was never designed to run anything past 4.3.

Morning all,
My daughter is using my sons old Verizon Fascinate,
The phone is rooted and running a very old custom rom, not sure what one it is buts it is real buggy, lots of random reboots, random no rings, random vibrate for no reason, etc
I want to flash a different rom fro here so the phone is usable again until she can get a new phone,
Im a HTC so Im asking all of you Samsung guys for advice.
What is the most stable stable rom I can DL and install for her so the phone works as it should,
stability is more important then anything custom or cutting edge.
I would believe the flashing process is the same for the Sammy's as the HTC
Reboot into recovery
factory reset
wipe everything
flash rom
setup account/phone
dont restore any data
let it settle down for a while
enjoy
?
She is coming over today so I hoping someone see's this this morning and can give me some ideas
Thanks for your input
Check DROIDSTYLES GUIDE its what I've used for any and all problems I've ever had with flashing ROMS

And nearly all of the jelly bean 4.2.x ROMs are rock stable and fast,,, you can always skim through the last page of topics to see if any lingering issues...
Check the development section for your choices of latest ROMs
Hi,
Is it possible to root S3 with S4 stock rom.
Rgrds
Kanak
Well you can't really put a s4 rom on a s3 dye to the fact that they are two different devices and trying to do this will most likely end up with you owning a bricked phone. Therefore you wouldn't be able to root as this isn't possible unless you had a ported rom.

Rooting vs. ROMs
It also may help to look at it like this: as I understand it, rooting your phone grants you access to low level software functions, such as reading and writing system directories and files. This is useful if you want to overwrite certain files which may alter the functionality of your phone or to perform complete backups and restores. Your phone would need to be rooted in order to install another ROM, as you need to overwrite boot files and other system files.
A ROM, on the other hand, contains the complete system, and other apps the developer has chosen to include. ROMs usually are installed pre-rooted, so that you retain that control.
A stock S4 ROM wouldn't work on an S3, though, because they are completely different hardware, and the kernel, etc. is built with the drivers for the S4. I wouldn't run on your S3 at all.
Smart money says, though, that if they haven't already, developers soon begin pulling out the choicest bits of the new software and making it available for the older phones.
Have a look at the forum for your phone, and keep an eye on the developer sections, and you'll see things popping up.
Thanks a lot guys for the help. How to get the features of S4 on S3 like air gesture, etc. Also which is the best 4.2.2 rom apart from the leaked rom for S3.

Air gestures might be possible to be used on a S3 but there is a low chance as if it is hardware specific it wouldn't work and would be hard to make it work on a S3. Also try CM10.1 it is not fully stable yet but it is an alternative to the stock 4.2 rom.

Is there a reason to dual boot on a phone? Why not just flash a new ROM if a person wants to try a new ROM? Is there really a point in having multiple ROMs on the phone? I could understand it if it were possible to flash an entirely seperate OS to it, but since android is android is android, why bother doing it?
Reason is simple. You currently got a stable rom but you wanna try another rom to make sure if everything goes well before porting over . This saves a lot of time in restoring your backup if the "new" rom you are trying is problematic or you dislike it.

I had dual booted before....
I flashed neat Rom as secondary with sammy 4.3 as primary and baam! Error state 7....
So the point is, its not good practice (the trying ROM part, otherwise I love dual booting)
Make sure to make a nand backup
Well,
I db to get the sammy features along with aosp, like one would be set up for battery, other for daily use etc...

my two cents
one of the reasons is that Sammy ROM is not that frequently updated.. another reason is that kitkat is still being improved.. so what do you do when you want to try kitkat too and also have need for longer battery life, better camera etc.
Hello guys, I am currently in the WW-3.1.23.191 firmware with android 4.4.2 and I would like to upgrade to lollipop, using OTA I do not receive the update, you know where I can get the android 5 for this tablet and install it by recovery?
Thank you very much in advance
Well if you haven't gotten the OTA at this point ASUS is probably not going to send one to you most likely because they stopped supporting that tablet officially. I would recommend getting a custom recovery, custom rom, and a special lollipop kernel for your device (if one exists).

Could you recommend me some custom recovery or some custom rom?
cant find any android 5.0 lolipop or any custom rom like cyanogenmod for my asus memopad 8 ME181C-K011
This tablet is a good performer, quad core and would be a good candidate for a custom ROM. I have no idea why there are no custom ROMs for it, surely it should easily cope with Marshmallow if not Nougat.
I have been looking for a more up to date custom ROM for my ME181C for at least 18 months, but nothing.
Surely some of you ROM modifier experts can save us from obsolescence hell here!
Is it even possible to build a room for it? It has an Intel CPU.
I'm a little hopeless about this and I always get annoyed with its custom stock.
here's the TWRP recovery mode https://drive.google.com/open?id=1BiSPms0AsYsEis-sUvKQIX-siyagb-Dq
enable debugging option
connect the tab with a pc
start launcher.bat
Is there any way to upgrade to android 5.0?
Hey guys, recently i found my old S2 GT-I9100, its been a few years since i last used it, and would like to upgrade it now and see how it functions.
The S2 is roots and runs Android 4.4.4. kitkat Cyanogenmod 11 from 2014, Clockworkmod recovery v6.0.5.0.
Which New rom is the most stable and battery efficient, a rom good for a daily driver?
anyone?
I'd stick with KitKat
I flashed CM12/CM13 and it honestly isn't worth it. The apps are laggy and even switching to another activity freezes the device for 3-ish seconds. I'd stick with KitKat honestly. It runs perfect on my i9100P (the NFC model)
