Curious to know if this OS can be have a future with this tablet. Dell windows models are having partial success with the installation of the Remix OS. I know the Windows tablets have UEFI but still curious as how the internals are similar.
Any thoughts guys?
I love this tablet but it gets so laggy at times where it randomly reboots.

Is this true??
Windows 8 arm on g tablet?
Maybe, maybe not. Way too early to speculate on an OS that is not even at ReleaseCandidate yet.
For perspective:
1. We are still awaiting a new OTA update
2. Honeycomb is still in question
It's true that Microsoft is working on Windows 8 to have it running on the ARM based systems.
There is however no information that Windows 8 would ever run on the Gtablet (memory, storage, additional required hardware, system design, etc....could all be issues).

IE10 in Windows 8 (ARM), running on a Tegra 2 processor.
Hope to see this happen in the future. Would love to have Windows o/s on my tablet.
Speaking of Windows running on an Android tablet, I had a cheapy ZT-180 tablet that could boot into WinCe & the specs of this tablet were no where near the G-Tabs. Has anyone tried installing that on a G-Tab?
Dell no longer sells these tablets with Android pre-installed, but there is abundance of Windows 10 units. Is it possible to dumb/copy the Android stock rom and install it in place of Windows 10?
Weird, I want to do the exact opposite, we should trade our tablets
So, I just heard about Remix today. It sounds very interesting and is something I'd love to set up on a PC for my daughter. I'm leaning towards Remix as it's android based and is what she knows very well. My main question is whether Remix OS is a true stand alone OS, or does it have to be installed on a Windows box? I have an old Dell Dimension 510 that I wanted to set up with this on a SSD drive. Is this possible?
Thanks for any and all help!

You can install it as sole os but I highly recommend installing windows windows, as it is easier to maintain using windows. You can set the dual boot to automatically boot Remix OS after say 5 seconds so to your daughter it will be seamless boot

Remix OS is indeed a 'true stand alone OS' so you can install it like you would any other OS on any PC. It'll be super speedy on the Dell with an SSD.
Unless your daughter uses specialized software which runs only on Windows, you wouldn't need Windows on the system.

So I’m sure this has been said somewhere before. I’ve installed Windows 7 and OS X 10.2 using Limbo. I’m trying Windows 10 later and maybe macOS Sierra. Oh and also Windows 10 Arm to see if it runs any better. Is there an interest for a tutorial or the disk image files? I would love to see this on a Note 20 or a Galaxy S21 Ultra. Windows 7 is actually pretty slow, but kinda useable
I have tested several Linux Distros on Dell Venue 11 7130 and most seem to have issues which are unsurmountable.
Now I am looking to see is any ChromeOS is worthy of full 2 in 1 support on this model. I need it to work in Tablet mode and Laptop mode.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Like what distros? I'm not a linux expert, but I do know deft8 (italian police OS) deft zero, parrot, kali, and well.... maybe try an OLDER distro, mb your distro's are too 'new'?

I've just acquired one of these tablets this week, gifted from a friend. I have managed to get Debian Testing (KDE) running quite nicely on it (took a bit of work!). Touchscreen is working, wifi is working, although that took a bit of hack and slay.
I downloaded a copy of the latest PrimeOS (Android desktop system), which I found worked quite nicely. Wifi and sound worked, I have yet to test Bluetooth.
For wifi, I actually had to "borrow" the ath6k firmware from PrimeOS, and pop the firmware drivers into /lib/firmware/ath6k on my Debian installation on the Dell. The wifi works, but is a bit tetchy (it tends to drop out after an hour or so, and the only solution is to reboot the tablet altogether).
I'm trying to figure out how to get Bluetooth and sound working. Will post more later when I have a bit more time.
