I turned my phone on earlier as normal, and in the bottom-left corner it said Safe Mode. Firstly, how the heck did I turn safe mode on?! And what is it for?
I know what safe mode is for on Windows, is it roughly the same for android?
I'm using VillainROM 12.0 !

hey i just installed Lewa Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506952 but my Edge/gprs is not working..The icon is not showing in status bar ...please help me wid this

It happens with me too..sometimes edge doesnt start..switch on airplane mode and then go back to normal mode and try again..
and when selecting airplane mode switch it on and off until you get the proper airplane icon..

Try rebooting or ask the ROM creator...
Hello,
I want to disable the android functionality of getting into the safe mode. Means, an Android ROM in which there is no way to enter the device into the safe mode.
Is there any way ? disable the volume down functionality during boot so that it could not enter in Safe Mode ? or a Custom ROM ?

I have a Samsung SCH-i605 Note 2 that when put it into download mode I get to the screen that is shown in the picture but when I push the vol up button of the phone to enter the actual odin mode or download mode nothing happens. Is there a way that I can fix this? I have tried to use a usb jig to force download mode as well but for some reason that will not work either. Any help that anyone can provide me of this, would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there,
This is my second Chromebook Asus c434 and my first being a R11. I am no stranger to getting a Chromebook into developer mode, following all steps, ESC+refresh key+ power...ctrl+D on the recovery screen. My R11 ran wonderfully and I still enjoy it from time to time but I wanted a new upgrade. For some reason these past 5 days I am unable to get my Asus c434 into developer mode. I get to the recovery screen and ctrl+D does nothing. Is there something I am missing on this new model Chromebook? Is my unit defective?
What I have tried once in recovery screen...... (usb/sd card showing)
ctrl+d
ctrl+d+volume down
Holding keys for longer seconds (nothing happened)
tablet mode (hold power+up/down volume) - this yielded NO results NO boot screen
If anyone has any suggestions or has a c434 that they can try.

Go to Settings > About Chrome os > Derailed build information > click on Change Chanel button.

Thats the developer channel
developer mode is completely different
HOLD ctrl and press d after HOLDING esc and refresh while powering on
