[Q] Slows down on games? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, just wondering if it's just me, or this phone really slows down on games? Been playing FF IX, its not that heavy on grapichs, but the phone slows down at some scenes. Also i already tried checking/unchecking the video optimization for games and still no luck. I came from xperia z2 but I didn't experienced this kind of lag, although this device has 6 cores.. Any help would be very much appreciated..
Btw im using the h960 variant with 64gb internal running 5.1.1

YES! Its possible. See my signature for more information.
and game, its awesome.. loved on computer, now even loving more in tab s
A great game,no question.
But one thing.i am playing it on the tablet s.
resolution 80%
distance 80%
details high
Dynamic shadows off
Framelimiter off
It runs very good till i get closer to 2d objects (palms and bushes and rain for example).
then the framerate slows down and it starts lagging.
Is there a way to solve this?i mean, 2d objects are a performance problem and 3d objects and effects are no problem?strange, i think.
Runs fine on my STS, but things can get stuttery every once in awhile. Works great with the PS3 controller, but the controls are a bit derpy for some reason
Can you download it on playstore?my xts is not compatible in the store!

Xperia sola gaming problem

i am new to xda developers eventhough i know it for a long time.i just bought my brand new phone on saturday.xperia sola.so here is the problem guys.for the first two days i just installed less demanding games like temple run 2,ski safari, riptide etc and played smoothly on my gingerbrad 2.3.7.then on monday i just updated it to ics 4.0.4.then the problem starts.in the play store i saw heavy games like the dark night rises, gta 3,shadowgun etc compatible for my devices so i installed this from apkmania and copied the sd files properly(checked the versions clearly on the play store before installing apk).ALL THE GAMES JUST OPENED SHOWED A BLACK SCREEN AND SAID"UNFORTUNATELY GTA3 HAS STOPPED WORKING OR TDKR HAS STOPPED WORKING ETC.EVEN FOR SHADOW GUN IT LOADED THE MENU AND WHEN CLICKED PLAY IT CAME TO HOME SCREEN AND EVEN MY LIVE WALLPAPER DISAPPEARED".i dont know what to do friends.i checked the ram and it says some 140 mb free only so i think ics hogs a lot of ram.i dont know whether my ics update was really necessary.
please help me guys i am new to android.if it is really the ics problem please help me to revert back to gingerbread .i asked the shop from where i bought and he said u could flash ur phone without root, but i dont know the procedure guys.
PLEASE HELP.THANKS IN ADVANCE

Because of todays scattered phone specs, it is not adviceable to buy a game before trying it out. It's true that you can get your money back for some minutes after a purchase, but hey, no one can try out a compex game in this time (you need to download gigs of data after purchase), and because of this you MAY just throw your money out of the window. I'm not advertising warez, but to be honest it has got a bright side too. I've always tried out every game before purchase, and never disappointed or lost even a penny
BTW the games the OP mentioned are working good qith xperia U, so they SHOULD run on sola too!

Thanks for the replies friend.
after 2 days of searching on the net i found a temporary solution.
I UNINSTALLED ASTRO FILE MANAGER AND SHADOWGUN WORKED! IT WAS A BIT SLOW.
THEN INSTALLED MOST WANTED AND COPIED ALL THE DATA.THE HD GAME JUST WORKS FINE FRIENDS.Now i am happy to atleast play these games.

Selling my HOX+ after 15 days

Where do I start? I bought my One X+ with much fanfare a couple of weeks ago and was very excited. But today I'm thinking about selling it. Don't get me wrong it is not a bad device. It is probably the best looking phone I've ever used. It has got an awesome display and great build quality. That is where the good things end.
I bought the phone well aware of the fact that Tegra chip had problem with Gameloft games. I was OK with that I don't like Gameloft games too much. But this phone can't even play games like Temple Run, Rayman Jungle Run and quite a few less graphic intensive games. Today, I bought Prince Of Persia: The Shadow and Flame from Play Store as I'm a big POP fan. But to my absolute HORROR it ran terribly on my phone. The exact same game runs beautifully & flawlessly on brother's 2 year old Galaxy Nexus. My blood boiled. I did not pay about $450 for this. On top of that the battery is very, very erratic.
Don't get me wrong folks. I have tried everything in the book. I've tried every custom ROM, kernel, SCRIPTS for gaming, TEGRA Overclock APP in order the improve my experience. All this turned out to a be a waste of time and money.
So, here I am. I am seriously thinking about selling the phone and getting a used S3 for the moment. Atleast I would get me money worth with that. Your thoughts?
You can in extreme to flash a new Rom like CM or AOKP.... android 4.2 is more optimized fore graphic and for game....

I already tried Carbon ROM but it did not help. The experience should have been good out of the box especially when one has paid a good amount of money for a high end device such as this. Not everyone is comfortable flashing ROMs.

I believe the definition of lag differs for everyone. I compare it with my brother's 2 year old Galaxy Nexus which has now become obsolete.
Among the games you listed I had tried only Rayman Jungle Run - and I've got none of the problems you mentioned, runs fine without any lags whatsoever, completely smooth. Same goes for Carmageddon. I'm using InsertCoin 3.8.2 with elitekernel (and it's actually underclocked - restricted to 1,2ghz!). You might want to give it a try!
Flashed CM10.1 and played the same games. The performance improved a bit but still very unsatisfactory. Can I expect the official 4.2.2 update to improve anything?

Gameplay on HTC One X. The lag is very apparent from the beginning. Just terrible optimization.

Please play it on another, then get back to me. As I said earlier, the perception of lag differs for everyone.

I can't play it on another hox+ because I am the only one in my area with this device, but I have played it in my S2, Tab Plus and I know what you mean by lag I am a hard core gamer, I really have to say that for POP I experience no form of lag at all(not even the occasional hiccups) , haven't tried installing Gameloft games yet but will mention later after I try installing some. That said, I have had (very) minor lags with Horn(which by the way is optimized for tegra devices only) when I have lots of active apps running in the background, overall I am pretty satisfied with the performance given by the hox+ currently.

Tested out NFS and it worked flawlessly but I installed gamelofts The Dark Knight Rises which sadly did have lags.

I've been playing a couple of the games you listed including other very processing-intensive games such as Jelly Defense, GTA VC and Re-Volt Classic and I have basically no lag at all. I run them all with top FPS except in certain situations when particle density is too high.
I feel like there might be some hardware problem with your phone.

After a lot of contemplation, I decided to part with my One X+. I thought things would improve with the 4.2 update but I was wrong. But one thing's certain...if you're not gaming then this the best 'Value' phone in the market. The build quality is second to none and the Sense UI is tremendously intuitive.

bye :good:
I reckon you stick my latest test kernel on there. I'm really pleased with it. I'm playing asphalt 7 on just two cores, no lag, runs smooth, full graphics, doesn't get particularly hot. Still murders the battery though. I guess that's the large-screen drawback.

Gaming with Xperia Z2

Hello there!
I wanted to ask you guys to share your opinions about gaming experience on the amazing Xperia Z2. I love the phone so far and it hasn't disappointed me once, but games like Pou, Kingdom Rush: Frontiers or Cytus do feel a bit laggy at times. I wonder if it's because of my background apps (or some particularly heavy app) taking up the memory space...
What do you think?
Best regards,
-Sathron

Might be because of thermal throttling.
Oh you might be right! Is there a way to like disable it or something? I never noticed the phone getting too hot or anything like that, though...
The only way is to play games underwater, they did it with an s5 (and it helped)

[Q] Does the heating fix work?

I saw that the M4 had lots of over heating issues with that new snapdragon processor.
I also saw that sony released a patch to solve that problem.
I was just wondering if it worked or if it is still too hot?
^Thats the main Question
I am interested in this phone becasue it is supposed to have great battery life but I assume if it generating so much heat the battery life isnt that great. Opinions?
I would not recommend the device, at least not the 8GB version. The tiny storage space i crippling at best... I can't even update apps because it thinks app data on the SD card is on the internal memory! As soon as the new nexus comes out I'm switching and throwing sony in the trash.

I thought Sony would have released only a fix for the Z4 (Z3+ in EU) considering the S810 heat "problem" (disaster).
Actually, even the S615 becomes really warm too, but I do not believe that they will update even the medium range.......
I can't find anything on Sony's website about a patch. Do you have a link please?
I personally do not find overheating to be a problem. Yes the device gets relatively warm under heavy usage. Some may say that it is even hot but i don't find it too hot maybe because i come from another hot device - xperia s. I want to clarify that this happens only under very heavy usage like synthetic 3d benchmarks, heavy games or heavy navigation programs. For multimedia there is absolutely no problem.

I was planning to buy the 16GB version so I assume that would be recommended? I was planning to dump a random SD card in there as well for pictures etc.

It was the carrier store sales person who said a patch was being released but didnt know its effectiveness. I also cant find any reference to it online upon looking so maybe he was crazy.
They only sell the 16gb version but the people at the store were also saying that they have had lots of returns for overheating issues. Talking to you guys there seems to be no overheating. :S
He was recommending a different phone at the same price so it wasnt for upsale
I bought the 16gb E2306 version about 1 week ago and till now i did not have any issue with the heat
aamm just when i use the camera for long time or chrome about 30-45 minutes
but with normal use or when i play games like real racing 3 or modern combat 5 doesn't heat up a lot just the normal
My m4 dual over heats and drains the battery very fast. Using just chrome and whatsapp over wifi, battery lasts only maybe 5 hours. With brightness on lowest. And the top back of the phone gets hot.
Also GPS is always on. I have to disable it to stop it. And the screen brightness adaption doesn't work properly. Seems to want to be always bright.
It seems processor is just doing stuff for no reason making heat and draining battery.
I've used z3c and z3c tablet. Both these last 2 days with similar moderate usage.
I got model E2312 firmware 26.1.B.1..85 bought in Malaysia.

But besides the low memory on the 8gb version, you don't have any overheating issues?
Hope it will help you.

My Xperia M4 overheats within 30 seconds of me turning the Bluetooth on. When I say overheats I mean the front and back become too hot to touch and it takes a long time to cool back down. I've had the phone for around 6 months and the problem only recently occurred is there anything I can do?
Get the Opera browser and set the image quality to low. You will note a serious drop in temperatures. Ditch the Chrome browser.
Fixing Heating issues tips
Following may help you to reduce heat level of your m4 aqua:
Disable unwanted Functions/features like Bluetooth & Location Settings.
Use of 4G and 3G Data for long time.
Many running apps simultaneously.
Non-genuine battery.
