After marshmallow update on my S6 Edge i faced problems with usb charging & Gear VR connectivity. It was charging well after many times plug in & out. Several times it didn't detect the usb charging cable. I tried 7/8 different cables.
Another same issue was connecting to Gear VR, It's hardly detect my S6E after several attempts. After connecting i got on screen message "Gear VR Caliberating" and it becomes sluggish.
I was frustrated so i just downgrade the marshmallow and now i am happy with Lollipop 5.1.1. No issues till now....
Hope i am not alone who faced these problems. Please let me know if you have faced the same or if you can find any solution so i can update again to Marshmallow.

Hi!
I'm having problems lately with my phone only charging with some chargers (my original charger for the s3 works, and so does a HTC charger) but not at all with others. The problem is there when connecting it to the computer too, sometimes it syncs and charges flawlessly, sometimes it charges, but wont sync, and sometimes nothing at all happens. All of the chargers and cables work when i test them with other devices (including another S3). The battery is also fine.
The only thing I've been able to figure out is that the same configuration will always net the same result, i.e. one charger+cable works every time, while another charger+cable never works. In the past the cable not working did work, although only if I applied pressure in one direction, which led me to believe there was a problem with the charging port, however I find it weird that some chargers/cables works flawlessly.
I'm running latest OmniROM nightly with latest Boeffla kernel. I've tried deactivating the safe charging setting in Boeffla control, but it made no difference. Been having this problem since mid July.
Anyone know of any solution besides getting a new phone?
I experienced these too, it's just a matter of cable quality. My advice is always use the original cable
If you experience charging problems(eg. Phone isn't charging or it interrupts)or sync issues, your s3's internal plug might be damaged(it's quite common afaik)

Yeah as I'm suspecting the internal port too, just found it weird that some cables works. I tried two brand new chargers in the last couple of days, one Sony 850 mA and one generic 2.1 A charger. None worked with my phone, but both worked with my sisters S3.
I was hoping it would be SW related, but I've tried both a newer ROM version and a new kernel. Maybe I should try a complete factory reset?

Its a hardware related USB port problem for sure... This happened to 3 galaxy s3s I've used. I sent two of them back as only one cable worked with them which is ridiculous and I decided to get the third one fixed by replacing the USB port. After this it began to work fine with every cable.

Hi guys, I am getting an error on My Galaxy S7 Edge. This is the a "Moisture Detected Error". The error occurs when I plug my phone to the my car charger. Please notice that I only get this error with my car charger. I can plug my phone to my computer or any other USB charger and everything goes fine with no error. I bought another car charger and I still get the same error. Also even though this model is waterproof, I have never wet this phone. Do you guys have an idea on how to solve this problem? Thanks!
Would it be that these phones use other specific car chargers?
Anybody with the same problem?
AT&T S7 Moisture Problem
i'm having the same problem with my S7. the "moisture detected" problem only occurs when i'm using my car charger. i have 2 Motorola car chargers and they both have started giving me this error message. Any ideas on how to fix?
phone: Galaxy S7 - non rooted
provider T-Mobile
Just weighing in here as I also get the moisture error. I normally use blackberry cables to charge android phones as I find them to be of higher quality than the crap cable that normally comes with the phone, plugged into the samsung charger of course. Ever since tmobile pushed out android 8 to my phone I started getting this. Now let me state this very clearly:
THERE IS NO MOISTURE, ON OR IN MY PHONE.
This only started a week after the update. The only thing I have found to work is to use the samsung provided cable and charger. If I use a Samsung charger with a blackberry cable, the warning is triggered. I have tried clearing data and cache from the system app Usbsettings and then restarting. This did nothing. I also used a can of air. This did nothing. The only thing that works is using Samsung's cable and charger.
Update: Tried it again just now with non samsung cable and charger and I don't get the moisture error. Still no moisture on or in my phone. Weird.
My S6 edge takes around 6-7 hours to charge. When connected to the fast charger it only says its cable charging..................... Now I have changed cables, enabled USB debugging, checked the power brick but its the same one I use for the S7 edge and it works fine on my S7 but not S6. Its possibly due to software however i'm unable to change the software as my PC doesn't detect the phone. I have smart switch, kies etc installed and still no connectivity to the s6 edge but the PC reads my S7 edge fine. Tried an ADB update but that still didnt detect my phone. Does anyone know what else I can try ???
Hi, did you fix it?? I have the same problem with my S6 flat...

May be related to the charging system
I have a problem with Android Auto. I drive many different vehicles and in some, Android Auto works well most of the time, but sometimes randomly disconnects. In other vehicles it disconnects all of the time. I have tried the two different USB cords (A-C and C-C) that came with the phone and that does not seem to be the issue. The issue seems to be within the phone itself as it tends to happen in the same areas all of the time. Has anyone else had similar issues? Has anyone found solutions?

Make sure that you have it set to the 'Charge only' usb mode. Mine would keep disconnecting when I would unlock the phone while connected to Android auto until I switched to the above mentioned mode. Super frustrating until I did.
Where in settings can I set the USB mode to Charge Only?

Flaky USB port
I have experienced the same thing. The USB connection of V30 seems extremely unstable when used in conjunction with AA.
Tried many things but no solution
I am having the same problems with my V30. The only USB C cables that I find work with Android Auto are LG ones. With any other make I get an error message saying Can't connect to car screen on my phone.
The cable I'm using at the moment was advertised as an LG on eBay. I have to connect it 2 or 3 times before it finally connects. And then sometimes I get an error message on the console which says no data connection in phone. Once I get it going it's fine.
Super frustrating. The days when I just had to plug in my phone and it just worked are long gone
