I'm selling my LG Optimus One and I'm buying a second hand HTC Desire for the same price, I think I got a fair deal. My prime reason for doing this is because the sound quality on the Desire by far exceeds that of the O1.
I am wondering guys whether you have some tips to give me before switching phones. Please share your thoughts and opinions about this deal. I'm setting my phone clean right now.
Thank you very much for the support here, thanks to you guys, my experience with my O1 has been wonderful.

I know its more or less the same phone, but from where I am, the Nexus One is more expensive than the HTC Desire. I know the N1 has noise cancellation, but the sound quality though earphones on the Desire seems better.
i have the HTC Desire HD too and can say, its good for daily usage.
Only the display isnt soooo good because its not a amoled so some colors are some
strange, but heee - its a smartphone not a TV

Hey andy!
Im getting the Desire, not the Desire HD, that one's too expensive for me. :/
Concerning the phones mentioned previously, I had a look at the developer section for both here at XDA before opting for that, seems like there's quite some good stuff going on them.
You guys think I should sell my phone with stock ROM, or with CyanogenMod?

That's true, but I already agreed to the Desire. With the price difference between these two phones here, I can save myself quite some bucks buy myself a good pair of headphones.
I hope some cool developers will also port ICS to the Desire, or even the O1 in the future.
Hmm that's what I thought too, I'm setting up CM 6.5.8 right now.

can you sell the phone with a CM installation? in germany they say "whats that, what have

a private person/friend will possibly know about that
Okay I made a video to show some interested to buy, sharing it here.

I thought about that, but then I realised that the mini-bluetooth keyboard I'm selling along with my phone does not work on stock ROM, and the only ROM I know which has HID support is CM. That's why I kept CM.

I would recommend you to get other devices instead actually Firstly, the HTC Desire has the multitouch axis inversion problem too! And even though its much faster than our O1,its still quite 'old' now. But the roms for it are definitely alot! Overall,I would still suggest you to hey newer phones with faster processers
The desire has random reboot problems and overheats.but not all..search it in google there are many people complaining about it

Sorry if this has already been posted or is in the wrong section i am new to the forums.
Okay i recently got into rooting and putting custom roms on my phone right now i have an HTC evo 4g.
But i am eligable for an upgrade with sprint i have been waiting for a while because i knew there would be an amazing phone to be released soon enough and i am starting to think the SIII.
Is this phone worth it? I would only be paying 250$ for the 32gb and 199$ for the 16gb with my upgrade.
is there any other phones that are up there with the galaxy s3 on sprints network? Or should i just go and get this phone.
is it alot faster then the s2? also will i be able to put jellybean on it if i was to get it? is there a stable release out.
Yes. Go get this phone.
Is the best currently available.

Buy the phone if you want it. It's a great phone but it may not suit your needs. Check it the specs and compare it with other phones you can choose from .
Your s3 model won't be the international version, it will be the dial core version so check their forum to see their development.

The dual core GS3 has documented and developer-friendly Qualcomm = definitely worth buying.
S3 is easily the best phone I have ever owned (and I have owned a great many top-spec phones).
That said I preferred the S2 in terms of size and weight. But the S3 has a higher quality screen and considerably better battery life
Oooh i see now the I9300 is the quad core version which is not in the US
The US version is dual core.

Should be similar on stock touchwiz. The dual core one is lightyears ahead of the Exynos one, though, when it comes to custom AOSP roms. Why? Well, just ask @codeworkz ^^

Thank you very much.
Just wanted to add my opinion to this one as I'm sick of all the exnos bashing.
Just because cm devs can't get it to work properly does not mean it's bad. It's the best version and I've never ever used a ti Omap or Qualcomm based phone that wasn't **** and dont get me started on cm roms on phones as from desire onwards I've never encountered a cm version worth installing as they aren't worth it. Stock android has always been and always will be lacking and ugly no matter how many cookie cutter mods you implement like volume button wake which is old old old.
Do yourself a favour and stick to Samsung based roms and save the headache and the laughs from people who see your stock android device and the pictures that come off the aosp camera among other things.
The SG III is way better value than the iphone 5.
If you want something "worth buying", you are the only one who can actually decide on this.. because it may/may not suit you. So i suggest you search and gather info for yourself so you get accurate infos
I do not mean to flame or anything, just a mini-suggestion. Hopefully this will help you in your decision
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I am surprised that no one said that you should wait for the Note 2 or the new Nexus or the next Galaxy S x, where x>3. There will always be better, but when you actually start using the phone you see that you don't need anything more, except less call log lag
It is that great that I don't even have the urge to root it right now and I rooted and reflashed everything android I had before.
Hi, Tech Guys here!
I don't know if I'm posting in the correct category but I thought it would be the best way to decide here which device to buy. Yes, I've looked on various sites and reviews for the best mobile device out there. Surely, most of them would suggest any one of the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and Xperia Z. Well, I've not found any review considering the development of the devices and I don't think I'd. Thus, I decided to post a thread here on XDA where I can easily get recommendation for it and can have my priorities considered by the techies here. At the moment, I own a Samsung Galaxy S II. The only reason I still love it is the continuous development for it. So, my kind request to all of you here is to help me decide the best phone out there - the budget is INR 40,000 ($ 800). Here are the priorities (decreasing order):
Obviously, Android! I don't want restrictions for using my own device. I want the possibility to tweak the settings. I want Custom ROMS, Apps or you can say everything what this site is made for.
The best development support - I think Samsung and Google are the best for it, no?
Battery Backup. It's fine if I can improve it noticeably with tweaks.
Storage
Hell outta performance. I was very disappointed for the reviews that said though having the best performance, S4 noticeably lags a much.
Screen with good contrast and colors. Size also matters.
I don't want to pay much for bloat.
I don't know why my heart is not letting me go against the S4. But I can make the same understand if I've your points here.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone.
I've also added a poll to vote for your choice.
s4 is great but one x is better suited for developing Android roms. Many roms are available for one x but s4 doesn't even have a official cyanogen

Well I have had a recent dealings with some of the devices from India and to be honest if it is for Development you may end up importing. Avoid Micromax and any of the OEM that import from China. Maybe the S3 maybe a good one or the S4 If the Nexus line is not available to you. Oppo Is also working hard with developers.

I've come back to HTC from Samsung GS3 which I had a lot of experience rooting/ flashing roms.
I have the One X Plus now. My question is can international One X roms be installed on the international One X Plus?
I won't assume/guess anything until I'm 100% sure so would appreciate any help with anyone with rooting/flashing knowledge of these phones.
Also, where is the best online resource for list of custom roms with user comments?
Many thanks

Yes,fp working on custom ROMs.
So many custom ROMs are there but less no of developers are there.
Honor said they will provide update for next 2 year but...there are better options in 12000 in India. Redmi note3 has awesome development. Resell value is good.

If you are looking at a phone with good custom ROM support in future, turn to Xiaomi, becuase they use Qualcomm SoC mostly.
Huawei is and plans to use more and more Kirin SoC on its phones, which reduces the phone cost, but give developers less options...

My suggestion for you is to go for MI, if you need custom ROM development support.
If you are fond of Honor, then you can wait and get Honor 6X with Kirin Processor, Dual Camera which is expected to release in India by January.

OK I am going to revise my review, after using this phone for the day now its finally working I can actually test it with cyanogenmod.
The phone stock software is crap, dump it asap and flash cyanogenmod straight away,
The screen is very good and compared to my iphone 6 plus there isnt a lot in it, the 6plus has slightly better clarity on stuff like peoples hair but the pixel density is better but for a budget phone its very good.
I get excellent reports on my call quality, everyone says it sounds very clear,
the battery life isnt bad, I wish it had a removable battery but I am sure it will last a day,
The charging time is pretty quick but not with the stock charger, its only 1 amp with is paltry get a better charger if you want the phone to charge fast,
The screen on button is in a awkward place but I expect I will get used to it,
The Roms on this forum are very good generally and are a huge improvement on the crap Huawei ship it with,
The speaker is nice and loud and I hear all my notifications no problem.
The build quality is pretty good for a cheap phone, better than Samsungs plastic crap

CM has make this device what it is. Huawei is kinda bad when it comes to developers. I have seen 5x from days when huawei never gave christopher proper sources for 12.1. what i say is with wisdom.. sellling means selling this in half and then pouring more money...which is not i can do now.
