[Q] should i go for sgs2 !!?!?

guys please little help
right now i have samsung galaxy s i9000
im thinking to switch to samsung galaxy s 2 after two days
should i switch to sgs2 ? is there is a big diffrence ?
does sgs2 have any proplems ?
the reason im switching my sgs1 because the phone is laggy a little
so if i switched to sgs2 is it fast alot ?
so guys please advice should i buy sgs2 and why
im really confiused
thanks in advance
Flashing a custom rom could make your phone faster/lag free
(Also, isn't there a one click lag fix thing for that?)
It got some issues like a yellow tint on some screens etc. But nothing to serious. Its fast as hell though
But be aware, the battery is horrible! Sometimes I have to charge 2 times a day!
To be honest, i would keep the GS1 and wait for something even better.
(Perhaps the upcoming nexus?)

SGS is a very good phone. You can flash custom ROM and tweak a little bit to reduce the sluggishness. SGS2 is a lot faster than SGS but there won't be no difference unless you are running multiple applications or cpu centric apps and games. I suggest to use SGS with a new ROM first and if you still find it laggy, then get SGS2.
Personally, I think the both SGS1 and SGS2 are good phones and I changed over mainly because of the size. Its sleek dimensions is simply beautiful and larger screen and vivid colours makes viewing videos a pleasure.
Surely the phone's hardware is sweet, but I don't think there are many instances where you would be fully utilizing the phone to its full potential (at least not very soon). So sticking to a SGS1 would be a cost saving measure. As you mentioned, performance wise, perhaps you could look into using lag-fix and overclocking as a boost.
PS: I feel like a salesgirl @ a telcom shop... >.<
I'll swim against the tide and say hell yes, get the SGS2, even if your SGS is so new
I had the SGS for about 10 weeks before I jumped ship. It was - and is - a very good phone. I fixed the lag by changing the file system to ext2 or ext4 with either kernels or custom ROMs. But the speed of the SGS2 makes it a totally different beast, as does the build and screen. That extra 0.3 inches really does make an enormous difference.
I've always had excellent battery life (no SNS or games, about 25 apps) on the SGS2. It sounds like you know what you're doing regarding flashing/rooting/custom ROMs etc, and there's more than enough choice here now.
Come on over, you won't regret it

You can't have a perfect device, never. Which you could have is a near about perfect device and I believe GSII includes in that category, unlike Sensation/O2X.
Besides, hardware wise there is a big difference between GS and GSII, but that depends on your usability, how you are gonna use it. SGS is still a powerful device. And as you are coming from Android you won't have any problem in adjusting with the UI. iPhone users some time find it difficult to adjust to Android as they claim it's not smooth enough, laggy etc etc. Its true, but you can't have everything at a time
Regards.
If you need a LED flash for the camera or need a front camera for video conferencing, then SGS2 upgrade would be justified.
Else, I'd just flash it to CM7 on the SGS, and keep using it.
im realy confuised
but i think i will go for the sgs2
Get the sgs2. i only had my sgs1 for 2 weeks before the upgrade {thanks vodafone} but man it was worth it. and im not sure whats going on with other peoples battery but mine lasts 2 days, widgets {3}, watch a full movie {platoon hd}, play angry birds for a while, text and calls and i also plug it into the old radio at work to listen to my music. i only just discovered i had gps on too
the other thing tho is that i rooted and deleted some of the crappy apps i dont want so i have about 40 installed but i got rid of samsung ones ect. if i benchmark its always 3400+ and i have never seen lag or a yellow tinge on my screen {my first sgs 2 had a weird scroll pattern under the glass but was replaced no questions} You wont regret the decision. do it.
if its suit with your needs go for it
ok guys thanks for ur help alot
going to buy sgs2 today inshallah

[Q] Does anybody regret buying the XPS?

Hi there.
Just as the title says. Im looking to buy one myself but wont to get a feel of what people are thinking about there decision to buy this device.
Cheers
Nah! Never regreted my purchase!
On the contrary, I have sent it for the "yellow tint" thingy service, and I already miss the poor [email protected]@rd!
Not a single day!
I recommend it :good:
No, this is the best smartphone I had. X10 and Arc was good ones but the XPS have it all. No more memory problem since it have more than enough.

Compare the design among all other smart phones on the market, the answer is no. Not to mention its still one of those high end dual core devices these days
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
Some days I regret that I got the XS and not the S3 cause of the settings available in ICS and some of the feature.
But then I look at the design and my XS makes me smile again.

I wonder why people call it outdated phone!!!
if you looked at its hardware, the camera is one of the best (12mp), the screen is one of the best (HD), and it has NFC, just to mention few. tell me one things the xperia s lacks
and if you looked at its software, it is a bit late to the party but its running 4.0.4 (very few phones running this version).
the only thing that might be outdated is the chip ONLY, but with the smooth experience, you won't know that you are using 1 year old chip except from tech sites but not from your phone itself.
the power is not everything, with the xperia s, it is very smooth, while with the more powerful HTC one x, some people suffering some laggyness. well, there is no point of having 1000php truck while 300php porsche will beat it very easily . this doesn't mean I don't want more power, but for the current time, this is just enough for me.

Oh! Another Kiwi! On the internet!
I didn't regret it at all, even though I paid probably a fair bit more than most others to get my hands on mine. It was probably one of the first devices to land here (complete with the yellow screen issue - although mine only turns yellow when the phone heats up. I think some people got screens that stained yellow.)
Got mine at PB, I wanted to play with the phone hands-on before I bought and I figured it'd be a bit of a **** move to go into the store to try it and then buy it somewhere else for cheaper. I had to convince them to sell me their display model. I wanted the black one but they had that one on display, and an unopened white handset... but I wanted the black. I go to PB a lot anyway with electronics purchases for friends and family, so. Loyalty pays off!
They've dropped their price a lot since I snapped up my handset. I paid $950 GST Inc, which was a fair bit more than the Galaxy S II was going for at the time. Early adopter's tax
If you want it on contract with Vodafone, I've been told unofficially that the Xperia S should be available from them very soon.
the only thing I regret is the software! sony really has to do a better job with it's software...
the phone itself is great :victory:
Not one bit. Love it
Just a few things you must know....-
The worst battery life you will ever have on a smart phone.
touch capacitive buttons are not smooth....
lags a little
and other than that this phone is good

Worst battery life on smart phone? How many smart phone do u have? And on another note, xs can do fastcharging (provided u have the needed accessories). U got full battery in about 1 hr and 30 minutes.while some new smartphones need bout 3 hours. It even charge faster than my GT540.

I would certainly purchase it if I hadn't have been given one the phone is amazing, it's fast it's smooth has great memory and the display is second to none....
I am a happy man

Cant agree with the battery life . You can say it average at most but not "bad" .
Capacitive button is very sensitive on stock ICS . Try it .
Every phone will "lag little" it depend hows ur tolerant .
My opinion , best camera among android , clear and crispy screen , nice UI , stable os , multi function . Full statifice espicially on ICS stock .
Only lack of root without unlocking bootloader . Never regret .
Other than less sensitive capacitive bottoms and not satisfying battery life..... No not a single day I regret buying this amazing phone specially now that I updated my phone to ics I noticed an improvement in the sensitive of the capacitive bottoms and also improved the battery life noticeably that with the help of my recent purchase of JuiceDefender
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
These capacitive buttons really sucks.. I'm looking for a patch to enable on-screen buttons, the physical ones are driving me crazy.
You should try a device first if you don't accept having to press the buttons more than once frequently.
I had no improvements on ICS regarding these capacitive buttons.
the only things that would make me regret, are:
The size, because operating it with one hand is not easy (touching top screen) But i think every other comparable phone is big or even bigger than the XPS
The sensitivity of the 3 capacitive buttons, exactly.. suck . and no it's not something you will just get used to, because you will only get used to used it in a different way so it still works... This only should have been a reason to fix before selling. but probably was too late.
but there is probable no better phone yet so.. :good:

well I don't know about others but I am coming from HTC Sensation XE- and trust me if I didn't use the phone at all (or while at night) , my phone could easily give 10 hours for just 1% with a custom rom....whereas in XS I still lose 6% on Ics
and 1 more thing is that...we used to have 100s of roms updated on daily basis so I could change to the rom which suited me / usage.......but here I have hardly seen 5 roms (thanks to krappbel) he is the only who developing usable roms sofar...
Many kernels mods and so on but here u are restricted to your Ics with a poor battery life.....even galaxys3 which released after xs have a couple of roms

Buying the k900

Hello, mates, I just recently noticed this beautiful phone and I am looking forward to getting one. I've been reading reviews on the net and posts here on xda, and I still haven't made my mind. Do you like this phone and would you recommend it, or better should I buy some other phone for the same price? I noticed, that people complain about poor battery life and lack of official lenovo support. Is that right?
Thanks for answers and cheers!

I'm now one week user. I tried offical rom and custom rom.
Phone is very nice. I love it. I want to share + and - 's with you.
+ Phone's exterior is very different. attracts everyone's attention. you cant compare it with Samsungs toy plastic body. Its nice
+ Screen is very good. 1080p giving very good experiance with photos videos.
+ Camera is good .( but after custom rom i cant get same performance... Sadly.)
+Antutu is 22000. Thats enough for me.
+ I never faced with stupid erors as my old gionee
- Lenovo forget the put a cooler fan to phone. (I'm serious.. Think a gaming laptop without a cooling fan) You can use this phone in winter under the blanket or, you can cook pizza on it. Your call.
- There is no LPG or diesel engine on it, that means that heating taking it's energy from battery. (Total life is 1 day.)
- Wifi is very fast but signal performance weak i think. (maybe its about my custom row rom)
- Lenovo dont care about the k900 users anymore. We already gave our money, why do they waste their precious times with us ha?..
Latest + coment is,
+ We have still rom developers for K900 indeed and they are still working for us.. Many thanks to them.
Final: It has too many negative comments but still i'm happy to be a user of K900.. If some day our developers can provide 4.4Kitkat, it will be perfect. :good:
Hey, thanks for response. Pros are exactly what I though to myself. Could you give more info about your usage and standby usage, what is the most battery draining stuff (wifi, mobile data and etc.)? I really love the looks of this baby but will it be used with all it's potential in europe? Are qubex or vibe roms are used further than asian region?
Cheers!

Should i still buy a S3?

Hi,
I could get S3 from a friend for 95$. All is okay but there is some dirt (like hay) under the display but this does not matter.
Is it still worth to get a S3 or should I stick with my S2 (poor battery and yellow-ish display). I don´t have much money atm because I have to buy some more things soon .
I tried the S3 now a few days and i like it very much, because of it´s good display and the brilliant battery life. My S2 battery life was so bad, few minutes display on and -15% battery.
I appreciate your help!

I have a S2 and my battery life is not so good, anyway... Is your choice I heard one bad thing about S3 and it's sometimes the phone has lag in the menu or something like that but I don't know why... So again if you like it, buy the phone AGAIN IS YOUR CHOICE
Moto G is better value
If you don't have a lot of money (and even if you have the S3 is still a very good machine. I'm pretty sure that not even one app exists in the Play Store which wouldn't run on the GS3. The only reason one I could imagine is a KitKat exclusive app, but no developer would do such a stupid thing.
The GS3 is superior to the S2 on every level. Neither the S4 nor the S5 is better enough to make me Switch. And with the new Generation of custom ROMs (Glamour for example) you even get all of the S5 features on the S3.
So: should someone still buy an S3? Hell, yeah!
Thanks for the answers!
@SAMPPLE I have rooted and greenified the S3 and i can´t feel any lag even with power saving
@boomboomer I want to stick with samsung or htc
@obdan_van_darg I will have a look at the glamour rom, thank you! And for KitKat we can upgrade to a custom-rom :victory:

For the money the Moto G, can't be beaten if I wasn't after a G3 I'd take one at the drop of a hat.
Why should i decide for the moto G? I have a Nexus 7, so i don´t need pure android on my phone
S3 is a better option to go with rather than sticking to S2 if the performance is really good and the price as well. Mainly check out the mobile speed and check out whether its not hanging.

well for $95 its a good deal now even more that you have a n7 so you dont need aosp.
for that price you can´t buy those low-mid end Samsung phones,(and tbh they are all almost the same, same hardware with one or dual sim and other sizes and other names *cofcof s3 mini,s4mini,sduos,s3slim,s3duos,s3neo,s4duos...*)
so yea, go with the s3 but see if you can get for $90 and then buy a cofee for you
Yeah i will see!

Galaxy s6 edge - Good first Android phone?

Hi guys,
I'm a long term Android user, but I'm trying to convince my gf to make the switch from Apple to Android.
She currently has an Iphone 4s and is very happy with it except it has ground to a halt as the apple updates have taken up all the storage space.
So she loves the looks of the s6 edge but i've seen really mixed results about the battery life, I don't want her to have a bad experience and then brand android with this issue.
Is the battery really bad?
Many thanks,
Andy

I would wait from marshmallow to roll out from the galaxy s6 because there are several problems such as bad ram management and poor battery life. There are ways to get around these issues; ex. Package disabler pro. The app allows you to disable bloat and increase the battery but these issues shouldn't be here in the first place. I would wait the I'll marshmallow so you can see if the issues are resolved and then buy it. I am using package disabler pro and I average 4:30-5:30 screen on time.

Hi Andy, the battery is not bad! I have since one month a galaxy s6 edge and the battery lasts me so 24 to 36 hours! Lg Markus
Thanks guys, we're really impressed with the phone but the screen on battery life is shocking. Which apps should I disable with the package disabler?
Is it just stock Samsung ones?
