Flash Question - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On my S6 Edge I have
Build Number: G925FXXS3DPE7
Baseband Version: G925FXXU3DPCF
My question is can i flash through odin without any problems this firmware ? Do i have to change my bootloader or modem ?
PDA G925FXXS3DPF1
CSC G925FBTU3DPD2

It would be wise to update the bootloader and modem if you have the option too but i guess you can take a backup of everything and try.. trial and error is how i started. Just dont wipe your backup like i did xD

[Q] firmware

can any one helo me with this?
i have a samsung galaxy s2 from bell it was flashed with xxki3 package that included a bootloader pda phone and csc files. i want to return my phone to the stock bell files ugkg2 but the firmware i downloaded does not have a bootloader just the pda phone and csc files.
am i right to assume that the bootloader that came with the xxki3 firmware even after i flash the ugkg2 firmware remains on my phone thats why whin i flash to it the phone wont boot?
i am a noob but my understand is there is check points in the bootloader and the firmware of xxki3 that must match up and if they dont meaning u change the firmware and not the bootloader and the phone wont load? is this correct?
also is the bootloader from xxki3 secure? meaning it cant be changed?
how do i find the ugkg2 bootloader to flash with the ugkg2 firmware?
or how do i unsecured the xxki3 bootloader so i can flash back to the ugkg2
sorry for the noob questions but i have been searching for about a week now to be able to get off this xxki3 firmware so i can load a coustom rom
PLEASE HELP!!

[Q] Stock ROM - what PIT file

Hello everybody,
I got problem with reverting my SGS2 to stock ROM.
Recently I bought used SGS2 with this ROM flashed:
http://www.dialandroid.com/2011/09/install-android-235-i9100xxki3-on.html
I want to put VIPNet ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
When I flashed VIPNet ROM with Odin everything went OK in Odin but phone is stuck on screen with SGS2 logo (static one, not animated) and after some time lot of text scrolls on screen that basicly says "E:failed to mount" and "E:can't mount".
I guess that problem is that original owner flashed ROM with PIT file and repartition option so now when I flash original ROM it can't mount partition.
My question is how to repartition partition for stock ROM and what PIT file should I use?
Sorry for my English.
Thank you.
Don't use a PIT file.
Most FAQ that relate to stock roms or rooting, will make it pretty clear you don't touch PIT section on theses phones unless you want to pretty much brick your device. So please just read!
I found the best way to return to stock for me was
Flash cf-root via download mode
Format system/data/cache/dalvik mounts
Flash stock rom using odin + download mode
Take .pit file from samfirmware ,.but be careful. Only use 3parts firmware NEVER firmware with only one part. The means for newest stock firmware use XXKI3 with.pit file and then flash XWKJ3.
I have also problem with reverting to stock rom. I have check rom and i want to put back to VIPnet stock but when i start flashing over odin it stuck on installing factoryfs.img. What should I do to?
Do a complete wipe of your phone before flashing.First root with cf-root.Then boot to recovery and wipe cache patition, dalvik cache, format system, format data, format battery and factory reset.Boot your phone. It will not go past boot logo so after 1min pull battery put it back in and boot into download mode and flash via Odin.
now it stucks on cache.img, please help I'm going crazy.
Use Fus Downloader 2.1 and download the latest stock ROM.
You do not need a PIT file, since it has a built in Sbl.bin file.
It automatically does a repartition when used with ODIN.
Before flashing, remove battery from phone.
Thank you everybody.
I used LiFE1688 solution and everything went fine, so big thanks to you.
There is one more thing I am not sure about, information in about phone is like this:
- Android version: 2.3.5
- Baseband version: I9100BUKI1
- Kernal version: 2.6.35.7-I9100BUKJ3-CL647431 [email protected] #2
- Build number: GINGERBREAD.BUKJ3
Is that realy stock kernal version?
Is my phone still rooted? How to check?
I have to take it to service so it can not be rooted.
Thanks

Thats fine. Some stock kernels come like that.It doesnt mean that you are still rooted. You just now need to make sure you have a clean binary counter so they cant see you have been flashing.
Thank you
What a stupid name for stock kernal
that's interesting, I found tutorial on another forum, where .PIT file use was marked as necessary, I flashed 3-files stock then 1 file with .PIT provided by that forum and everything went smoothly, phone is working
so I did something wrong, it's so confusing for a newbie, what problems can I have in the future after flashing with .PIT file?
Odin doesn't work
Odin detects my phone but not able to write anything. It just gets stuck.

How can i change csc in a custom rom..?

Hello guys!
I want to ask something.
I have just rooted my sgsII with a CF-Root 5.5
and i have installed through cwmr, a custom rom.
Everything is fine!
I have a question..
I want to change the csc that custom rom have (NEELP4)
with the OXXLPH (i have download the csc file).
So, can you tell me how?
Thanks in advance!
Using Odin.
Put the phone in download mode
Put the csc in csc and flash. Remember it might wipe the phone.
I tried that once, but then the phone stack at boot screen..
If this is the correct method, i will try again.
(i checked only the csc box at odin).
Any other suggestions before i give a 2nd chance with ODIN..?
Why dont you flash a custom ROM like mine.It has a muti CSC pack including the CSC for Greece because the Dev is greek. It would be a lot easier and less risky.Click on the link below that says ICS
Thanks for your advice.
I want to try for some days the rom i have now..
Any other suggestions?
Is the correct procedure to flash only the csc with ODIN?
Yeah mate just put it CSC dont select anything else and then hit the start button.Could wipe some data you have on your phone and some say that you should do a factory reset after the phone boots so if you have Titanium then backup your apps.

[Q] Stock ROM Flashing - CSC missing

I got my phone with I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8. Downloaded the latest version I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 from sammobile. It is coming with a single file PDA and flashed via odin without pit. But after flashing CSC is unknown. So tried to change the CSC *#272#IMEI# but the list is empty. So decided to flash back to I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8 and I got the CSC back. Again tried to flash the latest one and the result is same CSC unknown. So back to I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8, but this time I didnt get the CSC on this version, same like new version unknown.
Finally flashed I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 and I got CSC on this time. I dont have any idea why this misbehavior is happening while flashing. Any suggestions?
Quick look..
1. Flash I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 - Result-unknown CSC
2. Flash I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8 - Result-CSC is there
3. Flash I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 - Result-unknown CSC
4. Flash I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8 - Result-unknown CSC
5. Flash I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 - Result-CSC is there
Regards...
Any luck resolving that issue?

Another bricked S6 Edge

Hello. Unfortunately i bricked my phone. Here is the story.
I root the phone with cf auto root. Install recovery, but i forget to make EFS backup. Then install Bootloader and Modem PF1 for G925F - TWRP from carhd thread and then the rom itself. After that i lose mobile network. I can't use my sim card, no IMEI, baseband unknown. Since i don't have EFS backup i tried to flash every stock firmware that i can and nothing fixed the efs. Everytime when i flash stock firmware and reboot the device after flash, the phone boot in stock recovery and it says: "dm-verity verification failed...need to check drk first . The only way to boot the phone is to install twrp and install no-verity-opt-encrypt-2.1 but still no sim detection and no IMEI.. Smart Switch is not working for my phone. How can i fix it?
Lately I've seen so many bricked s6 due to not backing up efs. The most important thing is always make backup.
I had the same error and problems as you and all i did was flash stock to fix it. Try to flash a stock with a newer bl and modem. If stock doesn't fix it im not sure of another way

This guy had exactly the same as you and flashing stock fixed it. Read the posts and flash the fw and pit from there.
