What do you think will be the new specs of the Moto 360 3rd gen?
Personally the 2 important things will be:
-Removable battery (this is something limiting the lifetime of the actual 360)
-Battery that can last last longer with always On display
I doubt we will ever see a removable battery in a smartwatch, think about the complexity of adding a waterproof cover, a safe to handle battery with contacts, you will get a huge device... But next generation processors will give better performance and longer life between charges

I did some searching but, though there are plenty of similar (very) old posts, they either have no solution or the issue does not match mine.
I (obviously) own an i9100 (used, which came with the first two batteries that I will list in a moment), with AOSB KK and stock kernel, no battery regulation apps.
I also own 3 (three) Samsung original batteries: an old 2011-dated, a mid-new 2013-dated, a brand new 2014-dated.
I bought the last one because it felt to me like the first one could use some rest, its average life time IS 8 hrs usage + 7 deep sleep.
Before I bought the new one, I firstly tried the mid one (2013), but experienced the following: average life time 5 hrs usage + shutdown when battery still signs ~20%, no way to turn it back on but to plug in the charger and wait 10-15 minutes. This ALWAYS happens, it's not a matter of one-two days usage, I've been trying this battery for some weeks (not continuously, since its behaviour is very annoying) switching different kernels and roms, no way to make it work properly.
So I said "ok, guess it is faulty, I will stick to the old one unitll I decide to actually buy a brand new one", which I did, 4 days ago.
Guess what, same behaviour as the 2013 one, no difference; same life time, same death at ~20%.
2 faulty batteries out of 3? Doesn't sound possible to me.
Phone issue? Then why does the old 2011 one works correctly, with normal death at 0%?
Hi, I'm also having a few issues with my battery now, but mine is the original one, so I've used it for about one and half years.
Have you seen/used this kind of battery? The only think I'm interested in is the higher ampere-hour capacity, but I'm a bit hesitant about the brand.

No I bought only one original samsung (the other two came with the phone), though via ebay, so it COULD be fake...

There are some tempting things on ebay, but this one looks very dubious. The only interesting thing is the higher capacity and the low price.

No I highly discourage buying any of the golden ones, there are plenty of negative comments about them around the net, with some cases of battery explosion.

Gotcha. I wasn't really going to, but now I'm absolutely not going to.
Ok some news for the detectives:
1) I've installed a time-voltage-percentage logger, and noticed that somehow, with the two new batteries, the system isn't able to correctly understand where is the bottom value. Let's just say that in semi-idle mode, with normal background processes on, it often relates ~50% to a stable 3.70V, which is (as far as my aknowledge goes) way too low to be halfway the charge. If 4.2V is the maximum value, the battery shouldn't drop below ~3.4V, so I'd say 3.70V is about 25%, almost time to give me an alert to plug in the charger!
2) For other reasons, I went to recovery mode, and noticed it actually signed my battery level at 20% (3.70V - 50% in the logger, just a couple seconds earlier, inside the ROM). As soon as I rebooted, the system seemed to syncro with the recovery, to a reasonable 20%. (The logger shows a drop from 3.70 50% to 3.69 20% in a single step, with a resolution of a step every minute)
So I think there's a rule about 'this device vs that device', so I'm not trying to start one of those threads.
I've done quite a bit of reading and the issue seems to be that reviews are VERY inconsistent with the latest flagships when it comes to battery life. For example, the Galaxy S6 has a smaller battery but the only half decent testing I could find rates it's life as better than the HTC M9 and the LG G4. So really not that bad...? But some reviewers on youtube have said things like 'The LG G4 has noticeably better battery life'. I understand mileage may vary but surely if most tests put the S6 above the others then it should come out as better *most* of the time?
Essentially, I have an HTV One M8, and the battery life has been great for me. Really, really great. Is the S6 likely to be significantly worse? I can remember my Nexus 4 was abysmal, no matter what I did it was a real struggle to get through a day (With a rooted phone running greenify and trying various kernels, battery saving apps etc)- I never want to go back to worrying about my phone battery like that.
So, is there a 2015 flagship worth buying with this in mind? Or should I wait for the next batch?
PS I dont care about charge time or removable batteries. Lets assume I'm travelling for days at a time with charger access only at night, and can't carry spare batteries (because if I wanted to do that, I could just as well carry a USB battery pack).

From what I've seen, the S6 doesn't have stellar battery life, but it's not poor either. Average. Look at Sony, but last year's models, the Z3 and Z3 Compact. They're extremely capable, they don't have battery-hogging QHD screens, and no overheating Snapdragon 810. Or, if you want to wait for the next batch, grab a OnePlus One for cheap to use in the meantime.
I'm almost decided on this phone but battery life is probably the most important thing for me and I'm finding completely different test results. Some say it shows the small battery size, others say it's unbelievably good probably due to a less power CPU and smaller lower resolution screen. A youtube reviewer even claims he gets about the same battery life on the X as on his S7 Edge. Video playback seems to be the week point here but I don't watch many videos on my phones, just the ocasional youtube clip.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of people owning this phone so I can't find much information from a regular user perspective. So how has battery life been for you? At least as good as the old Z2 or Z3?

I'm easily getting 4.5hrs+ screen time on my xa I know it's a different specc'd device but I think they've done a good job with the hardware+software optimization on the x range of device's. I don't see why the x should be any worse

It should actually be better and that's what I'm having a hard time believing. Your numbers do match up with the expect numbers considering the diferences between models. Maybe it's the Qnovo Adaptive Charging, they claim that makes the battery have a better charge time and lifespan
It is very good compared to my previous M5. They have done amazing job with this phone. If you look at the specs for X Performance, you will realize that Sony have removed the "2 days battery life" claim from that phone, most likely because of the processor bump.
I am able to watch offline youtube for close to 4 hours on this phone. Waze is another matter.

I know the x has a slightly bigger battery but compared to my previous Xperia the m2 which had a almost identical size battery yet smaller screen and alot less power I'm impressed with the xa's battery performance and stand by drain. I know you can't really accurately compare a two year old device with a new one but I'm still impressed the x can't be that bad

Battery life is good for me, I get 1-2 days out of it, for one full day it's always more then enough. My old Z5 compact was still a wee bit better though.

Yeh, I figured it's really good for the battery size but not really up to what I'm used to.
Thanks much guys! :good:
I got this amazing offer on moto Z more than 50% off. Should i buy it. i read alot of reviews that battery life sucks or volte problem or Bluetooth or wifi problems i am just really confused. Should i just buy a mid tier phone with mid tier secs and forget the flagship of 2016.
I paid 400$ for it when I encountered a 50% reduction in August(it costs 800$ in Croatia) and I can tell you this:
If you don't care about battery life(which is logically not great since it's a 2650 mAh with a 1440p screen, but you do get a 5.2mm thin body),this phone can't be beaten by anything under 400$(I am the type of person who buys a phone and gets bored of it within a month, yet I still adore this device). The battery also charges from 0 to 100% in an hour and you can buy a battery mod if you really need a lot of juice on the go.
what other problems are you facing ?
how much screen on time are you getting ? are there any other problems ?

With a custom rom(and a full black theme) the on-screen time is a lot higher. Honestly, I don't count that much but I get through a regular day without issues(listen to music on my way to college, take a few pics here and there, go through the web, chat, play non-intensive games, listen to music on the way back). It definitely helps that the battery charges fast.
Agree with above, just got mine 1 week ago for similar price. Obviously still tinkering but my opinion so far :
- If you are okay with bad battery life (max 4 hours SoT with stock rom & careful usage for me), it's a definite buy with that price.
- Mediocre camera can be fixed by using Google Camera HDR+ port for Snapdragon 820. It is recently ported and we can hope for better port in the future.
- If you are afraid of AMOLED burn in, there are many options to prevent it. Personally, I am using Tiles + Edge Gesture for non-root user.
- Major drawback is battery life, it can be fixed to some extent with custom rom & full dark theme as mentioned above. Or, try to find bargain for battery power pack. But, I just found out that using power pack will cause Doze never kick in, so battery drain is high. Seems installing NapTime to force doze while charging did the trick for me but still testing.
At that price if you don't want it let us know where to get it. With the Turbo Power adding just $79 if you really want very long battery life or the $49 for a slim Power Pack for long battery life you still have a good deal. It's a way to charge your phone differently it might make you a Z fan. I think mods are awesome and the battery mod can prolong the life and health of the internal battery using efficiency mode.

My 360 has been dying at 60% battery. How do I drain it to 0% and recalibrate if I can't get past 60%?
Same problem here. Just mine dies at 89%.
It is a known problem after 2.0 update.
If you Search on google there are lot of people having same issues and tjere is no solution.
Motorola or lenovo are refusing to help.
But i can live with that because from 100% to 89% it takes a day and half to die
Fixed mine by unistalling/shutting down Moto Body app and Moto Connect app. Issue seems to be fixed by this 'workaround'.
Got this fix on these XDA-forums (kuddo's kimlongyakura)

I am really interested to understand how you can live 1,5 days with 11% of battery capacity (it means from 100 to 89)
How ??
Thanks

The battery needs to be replaced. Trust me you won't find it's battery easily.... I got mine shipped from overseas (at a very reasonable cost). Mine was shutting off at 20% and rest of the battery was draining too rapidly like if i installed any app it was dropping 9-10%. Now that i have changed it. Works pretty well Can last two days with ambient off and wifi turned off (your watch can access internet even when the wifi is turned off) so it has made a drastic improvement. Also replacing the battery myself was really a tedious job. While putting it back had to make sure the watch is water resistant to some extent again.
I changed the battery but I had some improvement just for few days
Very quickly the watch become unusable again
I deciderti to buy a new one
Now I have a TicwatchPro
