[PLK-L01] Update question - rooted Honor 7 - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have a question about update on rooted Honor 7.
Is there any possibility to update system from B330 to B371 (newest version in my country) while Honor 7 is rooted?
Thanks in advance for help

I recommend to unroot via super SU menu before you need to upgrade, followed by automatic restart and then force local update from SD and if needed root again...

Unfortunately when I'm trying to open SuperSU app and there's info: "SuperSU is not installed. SuperSU can't be install. It's a problem!". But I rooted the phone with Honor MultiTool and already installed TWRP 3.0.2-0, also bootloader say's: PHONE Unlocked.
Any suggestion ?

Problem solved!
Solution step by step for everyone who want to update your Honor 7 with root:
Flash your recovery to "Stock Recovery" using HONOR MultiTool
in SuperSU app just go to settings and click - "Full unroot" and reboot device.
Now go to Honor UPDATER and click "Quick Update"
After update to the newest version you can again root your device.

You can use UnSU script too to unroot your device, it is recommended.

If you have TWRP installed that is all you need to root this device on KitKat. From TWRP reboot the device and it will tell you if it's missing root and offer to install SuperSU for you if it is. Once the device reboots tap the SuperSU notification that pops up (or open the program normally if there is no notification) and select the option to install the binaries using the recovery script.

[Q] problem for updating superSU

Supersui can't update my superSU Binar.
I iinstall another version still can't update..
Please help
I had the same problem with 2 Z Ultras. In both cases EasyRootTool didn't finish it's job properly on the first run. The batch file stopped while 'cleaning up...'. On both phones Titanium Backup ran without issues, but several other errors occurred, one being SuperSU not updating. I just used EasyRootTool once respectively three times again, until it finished the job properly.
And don't forget to install Xposed, the best software for rooted phones
Root your device again with towelroot and try re-install supersu from chainfire! and then reboot and after that update the binaries!

xt1524 root on new 6.0 update

hi, i recived the 6.0 update OTA today
my phone was on 5.0.2, bootloader unlocked, supersu rooted
using supersu option i removed the root, this to be able to install OTA (leaving supersu result in "update error")
updated to 6.0 succesfully
downloaded lastest stable supersu v2.65
downloaded twrp-surnia-3.0.2-r1
booted twrp without flashing (i don't want to install twrp) do this way in 5.0 and 5.0.2 adn worked
flashed supersu
phone stay at "warning screen"
to restore the phone i downoaded the 6.0 zip and flasched back the "sparsechunk.x" files
how to get the root back again in 6.0??
thanks.
exactly the same here, even with supesu 2.71 beta
You have to install the superSU v2.62-3 (it installs systemless mode) OR in the terminal of the TWRP enter "echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu" (without the quotes) and then flash the version you want, in order to force the systemless install. I still recommend just use v2.62-3.
Supersu zip v2.62-3 and try: http://download.chainfire.eu/751/Sup...1211162651.zip
thinks @basili
I finally managed
That worked for me too
how
thanks it worked fo rme too
simply install TWRP 3.0.2r1 then supersu.2.62.3
I have a question. I installed the SuperSU 2.62.3 like its recommended in post #3, but Google Play shows that there is an update. Can I update it safely now?
i have my bootloader unlocked and everything ive followed every detail and it said flashed recovery was successful but how do i access twrp im only getting stock recovery plz any advice will be greatly appreciated thx in advance for your help

How to upgrade rooted Mi Pad 4

I have a Mi Pad 4. I unlocked bootloader and rooted with Magisk. I did not flash TWRP, so stock recovery is available. MIUI 9.6.26 stock Chinese ROM was pre-installed when I purchased this tablet. I received MIUI 10.2.1 upgrade from OTA. I choose to download and install this update. Tablet downloaded 500 MB OTA upgrade file. Asked me to reboot tablet. I accepted, tablet rebooted and started to upgrade but upgrade failed. No explanation was written.
What is the reason of failed upgrade. Is it because Magisk? Should I uninstall Magisk to upgrade to MIUI 10.2.1? Can I install Magisk again to MIUI 10.2.1?
You should unroot & restore(boot=kernel) with Magisk Manager. It can be done with uninstall option in Magisk Man.

Don't bump up within 2 minutes of posting a question. You are supposed to wait for 24 hrs.

If rooted and with TWRP, I suggest you follow these steps to update the same way I did.
NOTE: Don't forget to backup
1. DOWNLOAD THE ROM (either via updater or from xiaomi.eu, but if using updater, click install later, just let the zip download.
2. disable all MAGISK MODULES
3. reboot to recovery and flash the latest ROM
4. wipe cache and dalvik
5. FLASH latest FED from the post above
6. Flash latest Magisk. Reboot
Again, make sure to follow these steps exactly so as not to mess anything up. Goodluck and be careful
