[QUESTION]Rooted 5.0 or stock 6.0 ? - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Hy guys
So I have a Bootloader locked E2303 currently with a rooted 5.0, and as I know I currently cant root a locked 6.0. I don't really have any problem with the LP, maybe with the storage. I have a 64GB SD card with 35MB/s read so the space is there for the adaptive storage but I dont know if the speed will be enough.
If you recommend 5.0 what mods would you recommend (for locked bootloader ofc)?
Thanks in advice

I would recommend you to flash Marshmallow, and use it without root. Adoptive storage will work just fine with that memory card. I use 16Gb class 10 memory card, and everything works great. It's fast enough, but it's on you. If you use some aplications which requires root, than stay on 5.0 until there will be a way to root on Locked Bootloader.

im on rooted MM stock, pretty cool!

Good for you But as I said I have a lockedbootloader so for me its root or MM, not both.

Marshmallow have a little bit more performance and is better stable

ekin_strops which apps do you use with root?

My bootloader is unlocked and the device wants to update to that horrible 4.2.2.

If applied, the update may download but will fail to install.
I see. 4.2.2 was the reason i unlocked it and checked out custom ROMs.
Sadly they lack stamina mode And use way too much battery when Not used (no deepsleep).
Now i hope for a tablet UI mod for Sonys 4.2.2.
Deactivate the update app via Titanium Backup (so that it`s not bugging you anymore) and remain on 4.1.2. It's a wonderful ROM, don't believe that you need another ROM to be happy with your XTZ.

root 5.1.1

Hi there can anyone help Im not new to rooting and flashing stuff its just my new sony experience came from htc one m8 Im so confused with this dual recovery do I need to root first before flashing this dual recovery? because on most phone just install custom recovery then flash supersu.zip and done you are rooted, I want also some custom rom can anyone help me? im on 5.1.1 d6503
It depends if you care about your warrenty and certain Xperia Spesific features
1. Downgrade, use root tool then use prfCreator to make a pre-rooted flashable zip to upgrade back to 5.1.1
(for recovery use XZdualrecovery for sirius
2. Unlock bootloader and flash recovery and kernel or just kernel with recovery bundled with
Notes:
- Stock based roms dont need a custom kernel (custom kernels require unlocked bootloaders(
- Custom non-stock based roms need a unlocked bootloaders

It really depends on your use
Example: i benefit from a Unlocked bootloader because i can flash androplus kernel which allows me to tune my phone in such a way to where i can get an extra 2hrs of Screen time
And you lose camera post processing and those display enhancements that make pictures look nice in the album app when enabled as well as some PS3/4 related features
In my opinion the camera looks better without post processing and the X-reality isnt a permanent thing so whats the point of it really

You're in the same boat as me. I just bought my 6th ultra and it came with 5.1.1
Anyways to root it.
Goto kingroot.net download it. Install it on your pc. It's in Chinese but for the most part you should know what it is. Hook up your phone via USB once it detects the phone click root. Takes like 5 mind don't unhook it til it's done.

Were you actually able to get the Kingroot PC program to work? It completes "rooting" and reports success, but RootChecker app reports no root! So it's not working, I think.

Actually after posting that I found another thread and tried the Kingroot app, which surprisingly worked (unlike in the past) to root stock 5.1.1., locked bootloader and I then installed recovery & SuperSU! So I'm good, thanks!
download king root 4.5 basically this version as it allows super sume to work. Once you root it , download super sume 6.5 from blackmart not the pro one just the normal one. It will remove kingroot and install supersu.
prerequisite: bootloader unlocked ofcourse!

Flashing 5.0 FTF on locked BL and network LOCKED

Hello guys i have big troubles with my sony M4. I wanted to root the phone buy of course first i have to unlock the bootloader because it is on 6.0. But then i got Bootloader Unlock allowed: NO. So i tought if i change the firmware using flashtool to 5.0 i can root it using some of the premade rootkits for 5.0 and M4 but i have another problem. The phone is locked by T-mobile and they won't unlock it unless 2 years pass which is for 6 months from now, so if i install another firmware like the commercial 5.0 i think the network will not work right ? So guys do you have any other ideas how can i unlock the bootloader if the status is NO and also keep it locked within the network ? Thanks in advance.

Question Which one can be rooted (Urgent)?

I'm getting a pixel 6. I have 2 option 8/128 or 8/265. I want to root and install custom Rom. So which one should I get? Please help.
View attachment 5875467
Don't get Verizon
Can't unlock bootloader (ever) therefore can't install custom ROM
The storage capacity has nothing to do with rooting. If you don' need a ****-ton of room for video/music then 128gb is plenty. And yeah...Verizon Pixels are dead ends EVEN once they're paid off!
